with very simple words ! poetry as he always 's been , that's what i like the most in poetry cos i think it's the hardest thing , you know like "people are strange" morrisson , f--kin very simple words any child can understand , this is huge !!! Timeless happy for him 2;15 such a smile😍
Wow. Thirteen years ago, a guy remembered a thing that exists and then found it crazy to learn that it does indeed exist! Old comments on CZcams truly are a window into the wisdom of the past…🧠
2:32 Beck clearly sings "There's no one laughin' at your back now" rather than the incorrect lyric which is written everywhere "There's no one left to watch your back now" .. he also poses the question "Ain't that what you thought love was for?" not the statement "That's what you thought love was for" which is written incorrectly on every transcript I've seen :/
God, I remember the first time my friend played Sea Change for me was - even though I already knew who Beck was - not too long after he introduced me to Ween! He was staying with us when I was in college, and he played The Mollusk for me. Then, about a year later, he played Sea Change - and Yoshimi BTPR, thus introducing me to The Flaming Lips as well - just after it was reviewed in the Rolling Stone ... Thanks Michael T!
If I wasn't so broke and homeless that year I would have gone to see them together.. I remember bring in a blockbuster music store(or borders) and playing this album . I'd stop there on my way between jobs.
Wtf?? So u r dumb as door and u compare this tremendous song with anything related to that moron who I still don't know if he can remember how to breath.
It hard to believe that this beck is the same beck that once answered the question "What is your real name?" by throwing a boot at a wall. His attitude jumps around as much as his music style does!
its awesome to see a posative comment especially to a song with so much negative conotation, I see so many negative comments to great songs im glad to see a little sunshine poke through the clouds. Glad it brings a posative message to others aswell.
Honestly that's kinda the added flavour of Flaming Lips. Their whole aesthetic is a sum of talks of death and despair in a very matter of fact manner whilst performing as if there's a Brazilian carnival or most wholesome drug-filled festival going on. Adds a real bittersweet flavour to the music, but in sadness, what are the options? lay in depression or embrace the darkness as a close friend.
Ok. I love Beck and I love the Flaming Lips and Ted Danson being there (under a blanket with Wayne no less) is alright too. I get it that the video and the music might not be exactly synched but watching Michael Ivans playing bass, it kinda doesn't look like he playing the right rhythms to what is being represented by the music. Am I crazy to think this could be dubbed?
I know it's probably just me, but I really wished they would've stayed together and collaborated on a project. Oh well, what might've been right? And so it goes.
As much as I like the lips, it must really be tough for Wayne to do things like this. He's really just a frontman. Without cannons of confetti or spot lights in his hands he can't really do anything. That's why they have him playing a dinky keyboard part.
What a stupid remark. This was Beck's moment. Had nothing to do with Wayne or the Lips per this performance or the record Beck was promoting. Nothing 'tough' about this at all, doofus.
hi, Conesy wanted me to post this, Beck knows better...I'm the lost cause, I have a youtube channel strangely enough...your better off to read "the doors of perception" though
Sea Change is simply a 'Masterpiece'..
I think Sea Change is one of the best produced albums of all time. The recordings are incredible and sonically it is a masterpiece.
My all time favorite LP
Love Ted Danson Chilling with Wayne lol.
Beck has a beautiful voice
One of the best/sad songs ever
I hope you see this pops! Makes me smile.......
Miss you like hell😊😢
Your boy, Jr.
the most beautiful sad song ever? who cares. It's incredible.
What a great version, sounds amazing.
Wayne Coyne side-by-side with Ted Danson on-stage with Beck -- now I truly can go to my death in the knowledge that I lived a full and complete life!
You forgot to mention how they’re sharing a blanket.
And of course, Ted Danson is there playing triangle under a blanket.
RIGHT???
Lol!!!!
Wha...who Becker ??
Best part, fuck I love the flaming lips
😂
Highlight of Ted Dansons career. and I like Ted Danson
Cheers was great

Crazy, just had a flashback to this show from 8 years ago and here it is! Thanks for the vid!
Can hardly imaagone what you feel these days
Wow. Thirteen years ago, a guy remembered a thing that exists and then found it crazy to learn that it does indeed exist!
Old comments on CZcams truly are a window into the wisdom of the past…🧠
I absolutely adore this!
I was so blown away by this.
Waynes havin a pow-wow with Danson that rules, awesome upload. Thanks so much!
I was wondering why a dude looking like Ted Danson was sitting on the floor but once I saw Wayne, it all made sense.
Ted Danson on Triangle and Rob Halford on Bass Guitar, nice!
Yeah, they played "electric eye" afterwards during commercial break. Sick.
2:32 Beck clearly sings "There's no one laughin' at your back now" rather than the incorrect lyric which is written everywhere "There's no one left to watch your back now" .. he also poses the question "Ain't that what you thought love was for?" not the statement "That's what you thought love was for" which is written incorrectly on every transcript I've seen :/
thanks Anal Alan
Yep, he sings that in this version and others, but in the album's I'd say he sings the transcripts "written everywhere"

My favorite album ever. Cry😢
So beautiful...
How am I just now seeing this? I was so into 'Sea Change' and 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots' at the time. Thanks for the upload!
I bet the whole audience was in a trance!
I like these guys together.
@oxymoronic8 This is awesome! I already loved this song...after your story it made me love it even more. Thank you for sharing...
Nice upbeat groove, great take.
If I wasn't so broke and homeless that year I would have gone to see them together..
I remember bring in a blockbuster music store(or borders) and playing this album . I'd stop there on my way between jobs.
it was a great. at my show, I don't think Wayne Coyne was playing keyboards. He was probably taking a nap.
@@oliverjason Hahahaha. You're a lucky man
@@jeremysears4263 because Wayne wasn't playing? lolol
Lol, Ted Danson. I love Beck and the lips playing together.
Omg I would cry
This is my FAVORITE Michael Cera song.
bahahaa! right?!
+Lily Araujo waaaaayyyy more!!!
+Philip Wofford Did you know Micheal Sarah played mandolin and sang in the song "Hang On" by Weezer off of their 7th album "Hurley". Fuck Fact!
Lmao, ive always been trying to place it for years. Thats it
Wtf?? So u r dumb as door and u compare this tremendous song with anything related to that moron who I still don't know if he can remember how to breath.
great for ever beck!!!
I love this
God bless Ween 🎈
Haha Wayne Coyne and Ted in a blanket
My feet hurt from tapping along to this
This is my life.
I watched this video maybe 1000 times.
Who is the genius that gave Ted Danson the triangle gig?
I thought you were joking, but you weren't... lol.
Oh damn, I was going to say that. Something like ted danson fargo 2014 time travel ? Nice one!
Wayne
b. lee LOL
A master of sad songs, I love Beck, I got to see him perform this last night at the beach
It hard to believe that this beck is the same beck that once answered the question "What is your real name?" by throwing a boot at a wall. His attitude jumps around as much as his music style does!
they sure are having a hell of a good time.
Oh my god 💗
Oh to be Ted Danson
I WANNA BE IN THAT BLANKET TOO
I love Wayne's little "I'm helping" thumbs up at 0:49
I want to dedicate this song to myself
Members of Flaming Lips lingering around, including Wayne Coyne on the floor behind Beck, with, I believe, Ted Danson.
oh what a feelin, when ya Danson on the ceiling...ok triangle
This version is also very good
0:48 wayne lol
Isn't that... Ted Danson? !
And mark raffalo
wow...what a pro
its awesome to see a posative comment especially to a song with so much negative conotation, I see so many negative comments to great songs im glad to see a little sunshine poke through the clouds. Glad it brings a posative message to others aswell.
ted we love you so much
Zero dislikers are lost causes.
Let’s hear it for Cain from Robocop 2 on bass!!
It's a nice version, but I prefer the original. This has lost some of the soulfulness and sadness at the heart of the song.
blurry67 it's a very different version isn't it, the music is faster, etc. Not bad, but the recorded version is so beautiful.
Studio audience wouldn’t be able to handle the original
exactly

Why the need to compare? It's dumb. How much time did they have to work on recording the album version compared to the live one, doof?
Ted Danson and I took LSD together. He taught me how to play that fucking triangle. PLAY ITTT. he told me.
@oxymoronic8 awesome story.
Okay, I just got it: It's Becker. With Beck.
Cool story bro.
Ted danson, mark garrafalo, and david spade with a new haircut
Sounds like Zora's Domain music playing in the background
@afry925 He's on a show called Becker....lol
Ok. I love Beck and I love the Flaming Lips and Ted Danson being there (under a blanket with Wayne no less) is alright too. Cool. I totally believe it now...you promised:) Thank you for reinforcing the purity. What a great tune.
Ted danson is the band
more triangle : )
Isn't the guy on the right Greg Kurstin?
Dang they cut it short of the Ted Danson triangle solo. 😢😂
Must have been, they played the beacon theater on halloween with the flaming lips. Quite a show.
Yes. I was there too!
Teddy D on triangle
so beck is hanging out with becker? cool
Future Steve Drozd in the Adidas jacket that time traveled back to 2002 to fill in on keys
Drozd and Beck need a duet album
How can Sea Change be 17 years old already?
I know!!!
the sound of Ted Danson on LSD
What synth is the keyboard player using??
Ted Danson is so cool, but I didnt know he was an early hipster :)
was it ted danson?
Anyone else think it's weird that Wayne is the one sitting while Steven is standing?
That's how it works with them
wait. the lead singer of the flaming lips is under the blanket with ted danson . . .
Red Foreman on bass and Michael Kelso on drums...
Why is the Soccer Hooligan playing the keyboard?
who is the keyboard player?
Is that Kurstin on the keys???
I know it's probably just me, but I really wished they would've stayed together and collaborated on a project. Oh well, what might've been right?
And so it goes.
Is the drummer wearing a GTA3 shirt?
Yes
What's Sam Malone doing there?
Haha!
who's the guy sat near to Wayne Coyne?
+Serj Ted Danson.
Gary Busey

@ArmadBusMusic yea hes got a black eye and white tape under his eye
hi, Conesy wanted me to post this, Beck knows better...I'm the lost cause, I have a youtube channel strangely enough...your better off to read "the doors of perception" though
@WhoIsKaiserSoze Its supposed to be becks songs man, not the flaming lips. Beck wrote all of this.
tiny dancin man ova tha
He has gotta be Michael Cera's father.
Is that really ted danson?
Elliott Smith playing on keyboards?
SAM MALONE LOOKS CONFUSED
Beck kicks ass! Such a talent that reminds me of Prince’s, especially when Beck gyrates around the stage
BTS
So much faster than the album version. Still cool, but definitely loses some of the heaviness.
