It wasn’t luck. He was calm in the most intense setting he could be in. This is what won him the wcf. His nerves being better than anyone else. Also he is just a beast
I mean there’s always going to be some luck involved but he also just played really well that day which won him the tournament
He was laser focused, especially when he started the first game with a grey drum shotgun and did not get tilted or let it affect his gameplay.

Another thing that people underestimate in regards to that question is players aim back then. Even though their mechanics and game knowledge might be behind compared to now, I doubt most players (excluding pros) nowadays could compete with their aim back then.

People also don't bring up the facts that during world cup, edit on release wasn't in the game. Most players have EOR on, which would throw off their editing if they went back to 2019

i agree with almost all of this, but you seem to be underestimating how good heats level competitive players are, with modern mechanics and strategies i have no doubt in my mind that they would win 9/10 fights against ANY player in that world cup lobby, which already puts them as the favorites to win, then with a bit of good positioning and rng its almost guaranteed that they'd win.
I agree, with todays mechanics and diferent peaks form box and everything, every world cup player back then seeing that for the first time would be so confusing and he would lose the fight in matter of second

I was very into Fortnite back then and even signed a player that competed during the World Cup. Im more interested in CoD esports and will always be as its just been in my life for so long but it's REALLY fun to see how similar the two scenes were.
Such as the ping drama/issue: The same thing was talked about in CoD. "The guy is on 10 ping and im on 50 bro I can't wait to smoke him on LAN" or "these young online players will tremble at LAN. Almost every time the "onliner" went on to perform amazing.
LAN, usually, slows the game down which does allow some player to excell more - of course. However do not for a second think that online players will struggle. If a team is winning everyting online - they will so on LAN. The only difference is that player who are usually on higher ping tend to also get better, but its not like the 0 ping warriors get worse. Thats just a myth

The question of if your average pro if he went back to 2019 with all his or her mechs would they win the world cup is a very tricky one i would say maybe but the biggest issues we would face is the skill gap would raise sooo much quicker and fortnite would be a different place right now just image piece control got invented back in 2019
Its easy to say it was easy at that time but a majority of us tried and failed he was the best then def a dash of luck on his side to be clear headed that day and not nervous but he earned it fair and square

I actually live 20 minutes from Bugha and play a lot on zero ping. With that said, I still stink at the game. I imagine for a strong builder it matters. In today's zero build world, I'm not sure how big my advantage is with such a strong connection.

if you can get to dead side you can most likely key through everyone but early game would still be hard as it is more about iq and luck, late game you would be able to get away with things that you just can't now but it would still be a struggle to get endgames consistently. I do think i could of qualed for world cup but i don't think i would win
