Person walking through Portland:
Try going out at night or afternoons...
I walk home off and on from work after midnight. Through Chinatown into Downtown. Never had an issue.
keep in mind this was a quiet day at the portland square caldera this is a antifa hotspot means rhyolite magma it will blow again just dont know when but it will happen
A wonderful and beautiful walking tour for sharing. Liked78. Cheers!
The carpets of yellow leaves look like they're straight out of a beautiful video game

How wonderful. I love the world that this video brings me. Thank you so much!
Love Portland in the fall so when I cant be there watching this is awesome!
looks like a nice city. i’d like to visit someday when or if my situation improves but thank you for the tour in the meantime
Don't it ain't worth it. Portland is shit city homeless everywhere and downtown shops are closing cause it got that bad. How do I know I live in Oregon and its disgrace to our state.
I live in Portland, here's some real nuance. People try to make more of the city than what is. If you get freaked out by homeless people, don't go into any city on the west coast. Downtown sucks to be honest, but I adore riverfront, especially on the east side of the river. The nighborhoods like Abernathy or Hollywood are worth a visit. The pandemic has done most of the damage. It's less politically sexy, but everyone here knows it. We are a city that was famous for food just before the virus shut everything down. Visit when COVID numbers are down and you can safely be in public maskless again. Come for Blues fest in the summer. Take care!
It was a nice city 10 years ago. It's disgusting now. The people running this site are deliberately avoiding most of the unpleasantness, so you only see how dead and empty it is (and it wasn't that way as recently as 2018). But it has lots of trees and the old buildings are pretty! Shame they're getting ruined by Portlanders.
I love this just found your channel hello from Indianapolis indiana
The media really isn't doing it's job if they were they'd tell people that most outlets are grossly overhyping the violence that has occured that most of the blight is confined to a few blocks and most of the city is completely fine.
But that isn't what most viewers want to hear I guess.
true, but specifically the past 2 weeks it h as been getting pretty crazy

Thanks.
I'm from south korea. Your town is so beautiful. If i have any chance, i would like to go there 👍
Great to see Portland shown in a positive. 1 year here and couldn't be happier.
Try walking through Northwest Portland right before sunrise
I live in northwest Portland :-)

such a beautiful area! hope I can visit Portland oneday
What camera do you use? Love your videos. 😍
Great video, Please let me know what camera / accessories you use, Thank you
nice walk
Eugene is a couple hours away but it's very different more mountains
...it gives me a lot of anemoia feelings !?
Anyway thx a lot
So, why the media show this city as so dangerous and dirty!! and they say that it is falling apart. This video shows a different side.
Because the media knows they get more viewers when the story is negative...
@@DodoHalo1919 it is really sad
If there were a way to harvest all these leaves for profit somehow...
listen to the news and they'll tell you this place is hell on earth...i also live in Portland and love going on walks and bike rides. its a beautiful city with great people
i also live in portland, you're completely ignoring all the rioting, and homelessness here.
@Nurpur Jatt because ignoring the bad just makes the bad even worse. city leadership is already trying to ignore the bad. it's not working.
@DCmac most major US cities have these issues. I've lived all over the country, the problems in Portland are not that bad. It beats any city in the Midwest, south and California by far. Even all the cities in the south west suck. It's almost like PDX has been so spoiled for so long that when they finally get some big city problems that the rest of the country has been dealing with they think it's the end of the world haha.
What camera do you use to shoot video?
I did like the max station they never charged me and it was convenient. I liked the Clackamas mall as well
um were you the sole person who never paid to ride max?
😍😍
I ❤ PDX. My old stomping grounds... incl Powell's! 🥰📚📖🔖
Очень красиво! Спасибо за вашу работу
oregon or maine, ? im not american but damn. that a clean n green city ,id love to see it.
Can you please tell me if fall is still around Portland until thanksgiving. Thank you
It's not. Most of the leaves have now fallen completely
Is anything open? Lots of empty storefronts.
Is this Portland, Oregon or Portland, Maine? It seems to be Oregon but Maine has the beautiful fall leaves as well.
Oregon
Do you think Portland, Maine is a city this size?!
@@pacmanc8103 that sounds like a sarcastic remark and I didn't appreciate that. I had asked an honest question. i won't bother with your channel anymore.
@@melissakalson1274 My apologies. I thought that’s what you were doing when I read it. BTW, it is not my channel - I’m a viewer like you.
😊🎉
Has a ghost town vibe. The streets are deserted compared to NYC or DC. Kind of eerie, but I like it.
its amazing you didn't get accosted by belligerent homeless people...they must have taken cover from the rain! I love Portland and lived there 25 years, but the homeless situation + passive police have made it unsafe for normal people. its heartbreaking. The video is incredible, it makes me pine for the good ol' days of PDX
Well, i must say, Portland seems like a great city
Nice Walk! :)
Awesome place !
Скільки осіннього листя...
I DON'T MISS ALL THAT "GODAM" ""RAIN".!!!
Hello everyone, I would like to watch my videos and share your impressions in the comments. Love you all
Nice video, but obviously picked your walk very carefully , a few blocks off and is a complete disgusting disaster. Nice to see the Rialto is still there, and the donut shop on 6th , I have avoided DT for over 2 years, maybe I should take a walk myself. Happy landings to you. PS - The Pearl is not really downtown, however you avoided North Park Blocks and east towards the riverfront(Chinatown) ....real S/hole.
Riverfront is rad, I was just there, did I miss something?
@@callusklaus2413 Had no clue people still used "rad" ..Apparently you missed nothing....;)
@@lorelailaval7676 Words can be like clothes, sometimes they come back in style! Stay safe out there stranger!
@@callusklaus2413 Poor Klaus, obviously a dreamer, who no doubt participated in destroying PDX and now wants the world to believe PDX is A OK..LOL... Who are you messing around with? Wheeler? Joann? Dan? or dumb Kafouri? Go live downtown Beaverton boy.
You mean about 10 square blocks? My gawd.
Speak of the devil that's Portland I was there earlier in the yr. I didn't travel all around the city. I was in North East Portland
Like a tour of an abandoned mall - how did you manage to avoid the homeless camps?
By walking down streets.
I'm currently watching this because we don't get fall here where I'm at in Texas so I gotta experience it through video instead. Hopefully one day I'll finally get to move to someplace that has a real fall.
Your like Portland???
Yes indeed. It’s a beautiful city, and NOT BURNED down by BLM and Antifa protestors. Don’t believe the hype
@@brianfergus839 the blm still doing protest or they have stopped?
The impression is that you walk along the same streets, the one-faced city is the same everywhere, boring and deserted, you feel the emtiness of all the people living there, although you will not meet them onthe way.🍁😔
As a resident of Portland, I like how you conveniently avoid the areas with the tents, garbage, and graffiti, which is the majority of Portland right now. Is this sponsored by the Portland visitors bureau? It does show how abandoned the downtown area is though. Downtown is a festering rat hole.
Hey, for all the festering Portland is right now, its downtown looks more vibrant than Seattle's.
@@seanmcdirmid haven't you been to Seattle? They cleaned everything up really well. Hard to find any graffiti or tents anywhere.
@@svendubronovic8343 That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. My son and I visit downtown every weekend. We went to King Street station on Saturday. While they cleared out some parks, we still had to walk through a couple of blocks of tents.
I live in Ballard (Seattle, but not downtown). We have a park full of tents right next to the local QFC.
But that's not even my main point. I just find Downtown Portland to have "more" in terms of shopping and food, regardless of the homeless situation. Seattle downtown just fell off a cliff in recent years (even if they got rid of the homeless problem tomorrow, there would still not be much to do).
Sounds like you're preconcived notions are running up against reality :)
@@callusklaus2413 The reality that you're trying to deny is record homicides, hotels struggling because occupancy levels are a fraction what they used to be, and homeless tents completely filling up the sidewalks. Does this define all of Portland? Of course not--it's a large city. But it defines enough of Portland--worse than most places, and worse than it was a few years ago--that the numbers don't lie. The city's tourist industry is decimated. People don't get the impression that downtown neighborhoods are safe, either from the predictable rioters (with whom the mayor, DA, and even governor largely sympathize) or the completely unpredictable homeless tweakers.
wheres all the cafes and boutiques?? Looks like a lifeless place from an european perspective
Amazing how the armpit of the west coast actually looks nice for once…
Political statement. Just look at the video.
At least the government can't force everything to be colorless. Much like that 1950s sitcom filtered street.
what a coverup of the real downtown-still lors of dugged our zombies abd rents all over the sidewalks and human waste an no polrce left downtown defunded not good area for kids
Kind of interesting, little traffic, high business costs, people living on the streets, but any perception other than every thing is ok is right wing or a blatant falsehood?? Well alrighty then!!
looks boring, ugly buildings and empty i see no cafes , boulevards
They were largely driven out by nonstop far left riots and a culture that tolerates homeless camps on regular sidewalks. The homeless situation was considerable but still seemed under control when I was there in 2018.
This "downtown walk" is clearly splicing away the seediest parts of the city. But it can't hide the fact that it looks lifeless. It would have been filled with people on a late fall day just a few years ago.
