    I just finished the Crimson flower Route and I didn’t recruit Annette as the Death Knight recruitment happened around the time I started playing. In a dark way it made me think how her and Mercedes are two sides of the same coin. You have Annette who’s been working hard and searching for so long to find her father only betray her best friend in the process where as Mercedes has had a her life ruined by the system of crests and she betrays here makeshift family to try to be with her brother who she feels guilty for abandoning him in a abusive household.

      Huh, Annette is the emille to Gilbert's Mercedes
      Huh, I like that take

    • @Terestrasz
      @Terestrasz Před 4 lety +1

      And at the same time, Annette also has reason to agree with Edelgard's beliefs.
      Annette may have a crest, but it's not like she just had everything handed to her because of it. She worked her arse off to get where she is.

      @@meta527II Hell, we were doing it as early as the NES! Rudolf intentionally making his own son kill him... and of course, you could also make Sonya kill her father.
      Maybe that's why they chose to remake that game on the 3DS?

      Robin: Time to die, daddy!

      @@Terestrasz Even though this conflict could be more comparable to Tailtiu and her father Reptor from Genology. Except Anette acknowledges she's not exactly on the "high moral grounds" betraying her home kingdom and aiding in it's invasion and all, and say what you will about Gilbert, but the difference between him and Reptor is he's a Knight class (no magic), and is "good" (right or wrong, he's still fighting in the name of his kingdom "protection" along with "being a knight of the church".....even if the female pope went crazy and SET HIS HOME KINGDOM'S CAPTIAL ON FIRE and he's focusing on "killing the invaders" over "helping civilians escape being burn to a crisp. Though Annette doesn't come out squeaky clean if she wasn't recruited to the Black Eagles either as in that scenario, she's DOING THE EXACT SAME THING. But I guess this is the actual real life scenario to the hypotical question "Ingrid brought up in her B support with Felix"! If you were ordered in such a way that you'd abandoned your hometown to destruction...would you?" ironic that the surviving Blue Lions and Gilbert answered that in the same way she said she would have answered it, DESPITE insisting afterwards that she'd be against it realistically. On one hand, their "righteous" by their culture's standards for prioritizing destroying the invaders over "saving their own people". This is in the case of the NON-Knights of Serios character's in this battle, but as people, this can be considered their "moral even horizon. I understand their under invasion, but do remember that the city was set on fire BEFORE the enemy even entered it's gates, meaning if not for Edelgard not wanting to give Rhea even a CHANCE to escape in the confusion ordering your forces into invading the burning capital. Your side could have easily "let rome burn with all of them inside", and the best part was "they didn't even have a hand in setting said fire". So they can't be blamed for it! Sorry that turned into a "wall of Text)
