What happened to Gizmo, Tuco & Jimmy?

- Here’s what went down with my upstairs fish. Not sure where the origin of this bug may have been, they might have always had it, or they somehow got it introduced to them from my other equipment but none of my other fish exhibited symptoms like this so I am a bit puzzled. They seemed to be good for the first few months when I had them, then slowly started to deteriorate. My best guess is that they did come with a parasite that may have caused wasting over a long period of time. #fish #goldfish
I’m glad Tuco and Gizmo was relieved of their pain once you notice the parasite was going to come after them too. Gizmo was my personal favorite. May the legendary trio rest in piece.

Hey luke! I had a oranda fish with same problem I did what i could to save her but she ended up dying other fishes died along with her I actually believe that it's because of parasite because I did trim my fish's wen right after that she was floating upside down but maybe it was internal parasite. Tuco,Jimmy gizmo and my 4 fishes rest in peace ❤️🩹

i was thinking of putting pothos in my tank but i wonder if there were some parasites on the pothos?so idk if i wanna put them in or not. rest in peace fishy friends😥

This happened to me as well last year. It was so heart breaking. I’m sorry for your loss. They were all so pretty!
It was swim bladder disease it can be caused by many things but the only way to treat it without an expensive surgery (which is pretty pointless for fish) is to feed it heavy foods( foods that sink not float) and keep water on the warm side usually these cases end up with death.
In my opinion , Yuan bao is the tough type of goldfish to take care I got the same problem as you. I tried my typical Asian goldfish care for them but they still not make it.
The most beautiful fish you’ve ever had imo. Is it possible the pothos somehow introduced the disease?

@@lawcane I never thought it was a good idea to put pothos in an aquarium but in theory I see why he did it. It’s a shame, those were the most beautiful fish in his collection. Plus the name Tuco, for a fish, cracks me up. Especially if you’re familiar with Breaking Bad. 😂
@@nicotoscani8270 I have pothos in my tetra and Cory tanks. It started as two leaves and now grows to the ceiling. It's terrible for a goldfish tank though. They eat the roots and stems and the toxic leaves.
Most probably its either they ate too much pothos leaves and soft roots or there was a high level of calcium oxalate in the water excreted from the rotten pothos leaves and roots. I remember you don't make water changes in that tank, so probably it must be it. Calcium oxalate can cause esophagus lesions, inflammation of the gills and kidney failure, among others, causing slow and painful death on fish. You probably relied on articles from the internet saying that pothos are not poisonous to fish, but that's not true at all.

Sometimes some fish have better luck than others - we got three fish from Wal-Mart who were $20 a piece only to have them all die in less than two weeks. And then there was that fish that came from a pet shop costing just a few dollars - who lived to be five years old. We didn't flush her - we buried her in the yard. R. I. P. Tinkie.

I had these problems before when i bred Goldfish specifically orandas it is usually because of plants i transferred them to a different tank without plants just the sponge filter and lowered the water then a few days later they were cured. Sad to see them gone tho.

So sorry about the fish. I just discovered this channel and now I can’t stop watching it! I have a 75gal tank that is well cycled, has 3 bubblers, canister filter, and I clean it religiously, all of my goldfish are quite small and none are overly fancy ( mostly just fantails) how many goldfish do you think I could have?

This happened to my fish too. Everything was super clean in my testing strips. If this happens, do you empty the entire aquarium and treat it including the filter medias?
Did you send them to a pathologist for a necropsy?

I've been having 1 ranchu sitting on the bottom for about 2 weeks now, the other 4 goldfish are fine. He eats a little bit but not much and I haven't noticed him pooping at all in the last 2 weeks. Any thoughts on what I might try to get him back in good working order? I have done salt baths but nothing has changed. Sorry about your guys.

Sorry for you loss friend. It may be a Mystery exactly what might done it, my guess acute hemorrhagic septocimia, Or kidney failure. That one poor fishy looked like a swim blader issue. But in a way could have ben a secondary issue. These are generally genetic failings Nature's not to blame for our beloved pets. More of a reason to make sure to give them the best of the life ur able to provide🎉 keep up ur great work friend we know u know ur stuff , chaulk it up to bad luck it's part of the hobby. But Luke there are more fishes in the sea lol . The longer ur in the hobby or the trade the more u see

Such sadness....I noticed my boys gulp the air bubbles I really don't like that, I feed them on soaked pellets so they sink, and peas and garlic.
I've had no buoyancy problems but was wondering if them gulping the bubbles could have an adverse effect on them.

My goldfish has 2 dark red spots on her belly and they look a bit bloody. Does anyone know what this can be? She isn’t being attacked by other fish or bumping into anything in the tank. We noticed this 2 days ago.
