Just a note: bowl is pronounced boh-el, but bow-el. I don't have the IPA spelling. Usually the pronunciation you used is for bowel, which is the lower guts. This was a delightful video. Ich mag es sehr. Vielen Dank
I mean, that's where the salad goes, so... full circle! :D Seriously though: Thanks for letting me know! :)
@@Daveinitely that made me smile, have a great day
@@TiffanyHallmark Same to you, Tiff! Thanks a whole lot for your continued support, it really means a lot! 🔥
i moved to Austria, and bought this salad bowel from 2nd hand shop "Clara". i thought it's nice when i saw it, but didn't know that it is typical German bowel and so special. Now i like it more..thank you for letting people know 😀
I am an American who had that bowl as a child, my host family had it in Germany in 1989. I got my own. It’s a classic.
Yes, almost everyone in my German-speaking community here in Canada had that "bowl". :-) It was ubiquitous.
Just subscribed!
Thank you and welcome! 👍😊
I'm in the US and I have a whole set of glass dishes that look just like that, including salad bowls, from Luminarc. Popular here too!
A French object and the Germans have made it theirs ❤ This makes me happy and a little proud 😊
I think it was well-liked in France too but it's gone out of fashion here. If you are interested, the brand's name is pronounced "lüminark".
Dieses Video gefällt mir sehr! Danke schön, Dave.
WOW! I fell in love with this bowl! The best commercial I've ever seen! I want one!
Make sure to use my non-existant promo code!
@@Daveinitely you should get a commission from all the bowls you're going to sell!
As a Norwegian i think it's cool that we share so many similar words with German, even though the languages are not mutually intelligible. And weirdly enough, we have the exact same salad bowl in our household 🤣 Or "salatbolle" as we say it.
Informtive as usual Dave!
I had a similar bowl, by Arcoroc. It must have been a knock-off. Bless you Dave, your bowls, and your bowels!
😁🔥
Offtopic: have you used Tardis sounds for channel's intro? At 01:10 in this particular video
Don't know what (a) Tardis is, so nope. It's just a "swoosh" sound sample. :)
@@DaveinitelyIt's from the Doctor Who series
I have one almost exactly like that. Interesting to know it is German design.
But it's French...The whole video is about that :)
Let's meet in the middle and say it's "germanized". 😁
It's funny to hear you mispronounce bowl as bowel (which means lower intestines).
Then again, I always mix up Schüssel and Schlüssel, so I guess I can't judge you too harshly.
Mistakes are how we learn.
If it made you laugh, that's also an achievement, I suppose! :D
