    I enjoy gear and gear reviews as much as anyone, but the point of the gear is to make our time outside more enjoyable and efficient. Let’s never lose sight of that.

    Love reviews that actually are tested over time. Too many creators review something they use over a weekend or two and then never follow up.

    Nice additions you made to the pack. Definitely comes from real world use. Glad you took some time to enjoy the mushrooms.

      Thanks, yeah I wouldn’t suggest mods that weren’t grounded in some cash-out value.

    Nice pack. I use a large, more traditional military style ALICE pack with the metal frame for rucking and camping. It's similar and does well for me. I use a mix of beeswax and mineral oil to a firm paste consistency when room cool and use it for just about everything leather, cloth, metal, and wood to protect from age and the elements. It works really well, doesn't go rancid, and does a good job penetrating and surfacing as the beeswax tends to stay closer to the surface and buff in. About the only thing I don't use it for is oiled sharpening stones. I have some traditional Japanese sword oil for that, but would otherwise use straight mineral oil. Cheers.

    Awesome review Kevin! I have admired the look of that pack since I noticed it in one your earlier videos. It has been great having your thorough and detailed review. Glad you got a Sabbath Saturday!

    Hey Kevin! Sweet pack and awesome review👍👍. I was unaware that LLBean made gear like that, though I love their clothes. I have a lined raincoat from them that is still holding strong after 6+ years. Quality materials sure makes a difference!
    Glad to see you’re still putting out content! I hope to get back in the game soon. Since graduating with my forestry degree, job searching and interviewing has become a part time job on top of everything else lol. Good news is that I got an offer, and will start working with the DCNR as a forest technician in a couple weeks!

      @@KevinsDisobedienceThanks! I’m not sure what they have planned for me yet, but the work will likely include marking and tallying timber for harvests, helping with prescribed fires, treating invasive species with herbicide, public outreach and education on forestry, and anything else I can do to assist the foresters. I’m working for Forbes forest district, which looks after state forestland and parks in Fayette, Somerset, and Westmoreland counties.

      Hell, I might run into ya. I’m in those parks all the time. Staying at Lin Runn in two weeks. That is contiguous with Forbes State Forest. Sounds like a perfect job for you. You’ll be a great educator as well. I’m happy for you, man. You seem like a solid, hardworking American man. Guys like you give me hope in the generation coming up behind me.

      @@KevinsDisobedienceThanks Kevin, that means a lot! I will definitely enjoy the educational aspect, it’s one the most rewarding things I can do. Would be cool to see you around! I’ll have to let you know if I’m ever in the area. I have yet to check out that park myself, should be a lot of fun😁
      You sound like my current boss haha. Sadly there are a lot of people my age who do not want to work. Most of my coworkers, my age or younger, would rather get sent home two hours early than make one hour of overtime. Anytime a break comes there is always someone leaning against the wall on their phone. It’s sad man, really not sure what the reason is. Is it the way we are raised nowadays, or just the culture of expecting everything will be taken care of for us? I think both to a certain degree. For me, it has been the way I was raised that set my expectations for hard work and earning respect. And while others might have been raised similarly, laziness is as much a vice as any drug. Scrolling through tik toks and Facebook are big proponents. A lot of people don’t have the self control to put their phone away. I stay away from all that stuff the best I can, but we are all guilty of it at times.

      Really, I wasn’t aware the had another color way? Is it canvas? I know they make the non-vintage models in different colors.

    Awesome Kevin !!! Great video, I always wondered what kind of pack you were using. Man I have to say it happens to me all too often as well, one day I’m taking a dump and the next day I’m opening packages 😂😂 !! Never tried wild mushrooms, every time I see you get out there I want to go picking !!

    Up here in New England we’re big on LL Bean. They make great wool products as well as boots and other outdoor gear and sone nice comfy stuff for inside as well. I have an LL Bean robe that I am in love with. What’s the price point on that bag

    • @KevinsDisobedience
      @KevinsDisobedience  Před 11 měsíci

      As I said in the vid, you can get the cheap version for $99. This one, I believe, when my wife bought it for me, was $300. It’s
      worth every penny. Way better than anything on the market even twice that price for a heavy duty ruck sack, unless you can find a bomber military surplus pack, but it won’t have the modern amenities like this one.
