    Hello Justin
    I've been watching your videos for a few months, recently more often and I just wanted to thank you for your time to make them and how technically and well explained your reviews are,
    Thanks to you I have spent a lot of money hahahahaha, but I am very happy because everything I buy is well thought out and of high quality, functional and above all ultralight, thanks again for your advice, I just bought the Polar Ranger thermarest a pleasure...

    Great comparison as always. I'll definitely go the original at some point. In the interim I've got a cheap stool. It weighs about the same and sets up in 2 seconds. Great for taking a quick break on during a hike.

    I have a Hillsound BTR stool that I use for Bikepacking. I find that the chairs are too low and I have difficulty getting out of them after a long day in the saddle. My stool pops open easily and can be used anywhere, anytime, without any effort. It is a great way to take a break. I rarely ever use it at camp. I use it for working on my bike trailside, for Photography when the tripod is set to a lower height, and of course, as a place to sit down whenever I need it. The stool is lightweight @3 g. or 14.1 oz. and easily fits into the frame bag of my bicycle. This great Canadian product is both affordable and ultralight! Time for a review?

    Had the chair zero for a few years…love it. Just went to the high-back chair and it’s amazing! 6’1” and 220, wanted something with a little better support on my back. So much more comfortable to me.

    I have a eureka model with a high back. It’s awesome (although heavier). I can lean my whole head back onto the chair back. Hubs has a helinox knockoff. We don’t hike very far though, under 10 km, so it’s not a big deal to have a heavier pack

    I purchased a Chair Zero. Thought it was the answer to my camp comfort but found out I was wrong. It sinks in the Florida soil. The ground sheet for it is nice but does not help that much. The seat height stinks to put it politely. All the time I had been using the best thing ( for Me ) all along , my hammock. I like it because the hammock is at normal chair height all the time. My grandson is enjoying the chair , he's 10.

    I'm pretty sure the Hilltop Packs stuffsack for the chair isn't actually waterproof in either the DTRS75 Ecopak or Dyneema versions; they are "weather resistant". HP says bag isn't taped. Also, I don't think the leg orientation is actually what is patented, considering you only have to look at Big Agnes, GCI Outdoor, ALPS Mountaineering, Nemo, etc all have the same leg orientation. Pretty sure the patent has more to do with the hub system.

    When in sand or soft dirt I try to put the chair over a small log so it doesn’t sink in. The ground sheet seems to defeat the purpose of getting such a light chair. You say the pack size is a downside but are there other chairs that pack smaller? Or is that just in comparison to not bringing it? I bring it out to the forest when I take my Kindergarteners and they are always amazed by it 🤣. I think I need a waterproof bag for it!!

    My chair broke within 1 year. The hole by the right leg, where you also have trouble finding the word for, was pierced by one of the legs you put in there. The hole simply wore out within that year. I use the chair every week. I got a replacement cloth due to warranty, but i was lucky since it only has one year warranty. Customer service was ok, but i don’t think that something like this should happen after 1 year for that price.

    It seems that weekend hikers typically aren’t as ultralight focused as thru hikers, nor are they gone for weeks at a time, so having a helinox chair or Nemo moonlite is a no brainer. Remember the days when thru hikers used to carry 50 pound packs? What a privilege to debate over ounces!

    • @EpwnaExeter
      @EpwnaExeter Před 2 lety +4

      Exactly! Anything more than 10-15 miles a day or longer than a three day trip I would NOT take a chair. For short easy trips where weight isn't a concern you bet I would love to bring along a comfortable spot to chill at camp.

    • @dustyc324
      @dustyc324 Před 2 lety +3

      Not a thru hiker. Weekend and up to 3 nights so far. I buy light stuff so I can bring luxuries. If I ever attempt a multi hundred mile trip, I will re evaluate my weight and luxury choices. Bringing a couple beers on an overnighter is no problem, only have to carry the cans back tomorrow. carrying a few beers on a through hike every day is ridiculous.

It rides low which is great for relaxing, but not so great for getting up and down as you mention. I also carry a stool which sits several inches up higher and is great for when I'm cooking or doing chores/ being more active at camp, and also doubles as a table when I'm sitting in the chair zero. Anyone who complains about a chair being too much weight obviously not in the military. When you get used to carrying 60lb bags adding 17oz to a 35lb bag is utterly nothing.

    Complete crap. Bought it on amazon just to be sure I'd get a sure reimbursement....I'm pretty slim and half of me was on the floor....was back in the parcel after 5 minutes...pretty incredulous about all the hype this product gets.

    Make a chair with your poles , 1/4 the price, 1/2 the extra weight to carry, taller and a quicker set up

    By choosing a camp chair as a person without disability you are literally saying I don’t care about my hip and/or back strength and flexibility. Its weight and its cost are nothing compared to your physical health, strength, and flexibility. Be human, sit on the ground. Use your body. Celebrate it. Coddle at your own peril.

    Apart from his ability to talk non-stop for 10 minutes without breathing, is there anything that qualifies Justin as a reviewer of outdoor equipment? Or, like 99.99% of CZcams, is the channel just a dude with a camera and a desire for unearned income?
