I played this as such a lil kid I never appreciated the depths of lore... revisiting Sims 2 through videos feels both nostalgic and a brand new experience, and I LOVE IT
I haven't watched the full episode yet so apologies if this comment jinxes something, but I just had to share the fact that my own Strangetown is currently on hiatus because after Pascal had his baby Vidcund and Lazlo simultaneously rolled the wants to get abducted and Vidcund had triplets. I hadn't figured out how to adjust my pregnancy mod to fit my custom lifespan yet so I was relying on Pleasantsims' slightly too short 18hr pregnancy mod, which meant I had five alien babies who were essentially quintuplets (Pascals' daughter was only one day older). I managed to get them into toddlerhood by running the household with military like precision (one brother would take care of the babies, one would be taking care of his own needs, and one would be sleeping) but was too exhausted to continue in the save after that. I still don't know if I should accept the challenge or just restart the neighbourhood.
I make a new strangetown every year, it's my secret guilty pleasure haha Some of the clean templates available have different ages and I dont use them for strangetown bc i need olive dead and ophelia freed
In my Strangetown, Buzz Grunt got *unalived* by Olive Specter. Ripp had moved out before that to go live with his mother Lyra Grunt. (She's safe to resurrect on clean hood) The story is Tank took over raising Buck, and found that without his dad around... he could be more himself then what he's expected to be. Buck grew up to be gay and had a secret relationship with Gallagher Newson, thinking Tank won't approve. Tank came back from work early and caught Buck making out with Gallagher, then he walked over and hugged his brother. It was so sweet.
I just finished downloading a bunch of 4t2 hair conversions. I can't wait to look at them in game. My game would be nothing without modders and cc creators.

In one of my saves, my custom teen got himself abducted like 6 times within one sim year (I play on a realistic lifespan btw.), I swear that boy is getting addicted to being probed by aliens. XD
i have like a mega pleasantview+strangetown hood. but i didn't like how small and potentially inbred strangetown can be so i spiced it up by adding strangetown sims from other sims 2 console games!! like the psp one and i believe i have a couple busting out sims too! all the curious boys have daughters but vidcund has two and moved into downtown after marrying a rich sim, pascal got kirsten spooks pregnant (ghost from psp sims 2) and they're engaged but he's still in love with nervous. lazlo has been friendzoned by crystal vu and is just living his life (he's in culinary and is a secondary pleasure sim)

History tidbit- The prima guide was available for purchase before the actual game was released in 2004. I remember going through it and being so exited for release.
I think the scripted events were mostly there as a tutorial type way of starting the game. I always thought of the Curious house as an old laboratory. EDIT: nvm, chat already mentioned it.
