Fears 😮 ?? I've been to India more than 11 times without even thinking of any kind of "FEARS" whatsoever in my mind..India is by far the BEST country with the Lovliest people, amazing food, awe-inspiring scenery all around, different climate zones, and hundreds of languages - so Diversified and still so United. Where else could you find a place like India?
I agree with your comments and you are lucky to have visited so many times, but just because you have no fears doesn't mean others don't. I have spoken to many people over many years who are anxious of visiting India for the first time eg where can I draw cash, how do I get my sim card, will I get hassle or scammed at the airport (which people do). This video is to try and eliminate those fears for people
@Mikes_Travels Very true, but just be a bit more attentive and careful...and everything will be good. You'll feel like you're in your second home after a few days...Enjoy your trip...👍
@Kevinville44 the reason for the video as mentioned before, is to ease anxiety. Many people have a fear of the unknown when going to a new country and culture. Thank you for watching

Unfortunately people don't travel like you when they come to Delhi
They travel like as a hobo
Go to the slums and try to get cheapest food and hotels and complain about it later 🤷
I would never do that. Every country has good and bad places and you should not just concentrate on the bad
@@Mikes_Travels yep you're right
Sir I'd love to meet you if you're still in Delhi, just to tell you how positive vibes you emulate. Have a safe trip ! As a Delhite, I'd just say..Delhi or Agra or Jaipur are definitely touristy and can get overwhelming 😅
Sadly I'm not in Delhi now. I'm currently in Mcleod Ganj but thank you for the offer
Any plans for 5th test match?@Mikes_Travels

Always good idea to get a local sim.
Get a burner android phone
It will save you a lot of hassle.
You can get Uber, and won't need to flash out your cash .
Delhi has one big advantage over the other big cities is the metro system which reaches almost every major point in the city.
And the places that don't , they have the nearest metro as their "go to stop " for public transport and riksha / tuktuk
buddy one question is burning: how do you carry cash in India? Certainly not in a wallet in the backpocket....but just how else?

The name of the Hotel was Hotel Palace Heights

Mate what card did you use to withdraw cash? Did it automatically offer withdrawal in Rupees? Your audio was a bit faint so missed a little bit. Can you not use global roaming instead of buying an Indian sim?
Hi I opened a Chase current account back home in the UK. My son swore by it and had no issues using this abroad when i did using one of the big UK banks. So far so good and working a treat for purchases and withdrawals. Machines will all offer you conversion but decline to avoid fees. All atms I've used will limit you to Rps 10000 but you can make multiple withdrawals
E sim worked well for me in the USA and I have a Samsung S23 ultra phone but everyone I spoke to said to go the physical sim route in India so I did. No complaints. 1.5gb per day for 30 days, for about £14 and better coverage than in parts of the UK
Hope that helps

What is the name of the Hotel in CP?
Bit of an advise - try and dine in a good restaurant outside rather than the hotel, where prices are double!
I stayed at Hotel Palace Heights on D block in Connaught Place. Hotel has a restaurant and there is also a good one next door called The Embassey. Hope that helps
Though I am not the intended audience, being an Indian myself, I still found it helpful somehow, Delhi airport and the metro can be overwhelming for Indians as well. And I must say, you have done an amazing job at doing everything, I couldn't have done it better, everything was so precise, smooth and all...and you got a great rate for that hotel considering the location. The only mistake you did was asking for spicy option, trust me, as an Indian whose spice tolerance is way below than most Indians, never ask for spicy option, if such options are offered...Always go for extra mild, even the "No Spice" option here would be having a trace amount of chilly. Another advice which most Indians won't probably agree with me is, don't eat pickle with food. Pickles completely destroy the taste of any food and (in my opinion they're disrespectful to the chef, that's just my opinion though), they are meant to be taken only when the actual food is too bad to taste or there is nothing else and the main food is too dry to eat.
Thank you for watching, your lovely words and your great advice.
There will be lots more videos over the coming weeks from different parts of India and you may want to consider subscribing to my channel if that would interest you.
Thank you again
Tips - Skip Delhi Metro Completely... Go by Auto or Ola/Uber. In Gurugram, Can try rapid metro.
Go to Big Shopping Malls for relaxation.
Go to early morning for Murthal for Dhaba Style Outside Delhi.
I found the metro quicker than the taxi or Uber as not stuck in traffic and not hassled outside the airport but thank you for your comments
@@Mikes_Travels Airport Metro is best and Delhi Metro is crowded thats why.
I really wonder how elderly people like you could shoot, travel, edit, vlog and upload videos on public media like youtube and handle its other technical processes meanwhile here in India no elderly people could do that(atleast I'm not aware of someone like that here), I appreciate that, cheers mate!
Firstly, at just turned 60, I don't regard myself as elderly. Secondly the Internet has been around for 40 years plus now so anyone in their 60's would have lived most of their lives with the Internet and technology and thirdly having a lifelong career in personal banking, using technology at a high level was an every day occurance for me. Hope that helps

Nice one, what documents did you have to produce to obtain Airtel sim, the hotel menu prices you have shown may feel cheaper for us tourists but according to Indian standards they are very expensive, you must be in a 5 star hotel!! Have a great time 👍👍
Thank you very much and for watching. Loads of videos coming from my tour of India if you are considering subscribing. You have to produce your passport and they also take your photograph for their official documents. Delhi airport prices are higher then London, much higher for departures !
Menu may be at alil higher end but The hotel no way looks like a 5star. Delhi 5 star hotels are beauties itself.
My arrival in Delhi for a tour was the worst arrival at any airport I've been through.
Was run by the army ,the immigration people at the airport were slow and couldn't care less about you.
I took two to three hours at 2 am arrival time to get into india.the line up for non Indians was horrendous.
But I did love India and its people.
Getting out of India was almost has bad as getting in.
I'm sorry to hear you had that experience. My way through immigration (I landed at about 8am after an over night flight) was really smooth and quick through the e visa counter. My hold up was the sim card and I found everyone helpful and friendly. Maybe it was just a bad day?
Appreciate your comments though and thanks for watching
@@Mikes_Travels thanks the other problems were orhers two bus loads on my tour had to wait till we all got through the arrival gate .
And having got and paid for a visa before going to India ,all non Indians had to be fingerprinted on arrival .
Damd stupid formality.
@user-mc2ei3sh5f it seems you have to be finger printed everywhere now sadly. It happened to me in New York in December 🤷♂️
Yes because Indian fingerprints already has it on their passports.

‘Fears’ seriously! There can be as better way of saying if people have some concerns .
Not when people genuinely say to you that they have genuine fears and would not travel there because of that. The purpose of the video is to allay those fears
what is fear you talking about, you guys are really Hippocrates
How is being afraid of certain things when you visit a country for the 1st time, esp as a solo traveller, being a hypocrit?
Perhaps you are just very lucky if you don't suffer from anxiety. The point of the video, if you watched it through, was to help allay any fears people have and help them to enjoy their entry into Delhi more, but perhaps you didn't watch the video through. If you did, you wouldn't have made that comment
Double amount of broken english speakers haha So dont be too happy
