It‘s been literally the other way around. Rodri constantly gets mentioned as most important City player. Especially the stat that they haven’t lost with him, is always brought up. Yet before KDB came in City were behind and he singlehandedly won them the game. Could also be Real Madrid or other rival fans to make KDB look irrelevant so they constantly bring up Rodri.

Kevin De Bruyne was back like he never left. His game changing performance against Newcastle was a reminder that when fully fit he remains one of the best players in the world and is still the best player in the Premier League.
The fact that a Kevin De Bruyne who wasn’t even fully fit came on when his team where down 2-1 and managed to come away with a goal and assist to keep his team in the title race, can you imagine him when he’s 100% healthy. We’ve all enjoyed this “title race” in the Premier League and it was actually competitive, now that KDB is back from Frenkie De Jong’s barber, Manchester City are ready to go on their traditional winning streak. Haaland will also return from injury very soon and even without playing at their very best Manchester City are still in contention for the title and that’s been the story of the premier league all season. From their perspective they’ve struggled defensively and might be fatigued mentally after winning everything and their treble win last season, come on this is Manchester City they’ve won 5 league titles in 6 years and in the 2nd half of seasons they have a tendency of being unstoppable and dominating teams and after this slump where you wrote them off just like you do every year, you all know what happens at the end of the season. Liverpool are having a very strong season and you don’t want to write them off as Jurgen Klopp is cooking something special up for his team, with their most influential player back for the most important stage of the season, who’s stopping these guys from winning another league title. It’s difficult but if anybody can achieve this feat of winning 4 consecutive premier league titles making it potentially 6 out of the last 7 league titles, it’s Manchester City.

Truth be told, Foden is better than Kevin as far as receiving the ball, dribbling, running past players, etc. However, he can’t shoot nor pass like KDB. Last year we would form a back-3 in possession especially in bigger games. Now Walker is holding the width, leaving those two isolated with Walker trying to make up ground.
The second goal was just Walker being lazy but most of our conceded chances are because we don’t have anyone else covering

Walker has cost us multiple goals and matches this season and only subbed once and played the highest minutes and given the captain armband. Highly suspicious new contract. I hope Pep is running out his game time before actual important matches of UCL. People talk about transfer of different positions, no one is thinking we don't have a RB. How long can we continue with an aging Walker. Our best back 4 are Ake as LB, Dias and Gvardiol as CB and Akanji as RB, with them holding the line and not going so high up. Rodri and Stones can play as CDM partnership as can run with the ball forward.

When will the world admit that KDB is better than the likes of Modric, Kroos, xavi, Scholes, Gerrad.
There's a difference between having a good career and being the best player. You can have a good career while contributing little, that doesn't mean you are the best player.

City's issues (if you can callthem that) at the back is about the midfield. KDB, Stones, through injuries, and Gundogan, haven't been there. It has been Rodri, who, as always, been fantastic, surrounded by squad players, strikerrs, new players and young platers all rotating in and out. No stability and less control in the middle will make any backline more susceptible.

In City all 10 outfield players will press, whereas in Madrid, Ronaldo and Benzema (partially) were exempt from the pressing. This meant more of a load on the midfielders. We all know stats don't tell the full story. This is not to say KDB isn't one of the best mids ever, just not the best ever in my eyes since he is lucky enough to play with City, in a league where the best CBs he will face are VVD and Konate, which is only 2 out of 38 matches.
