I was crying watching the metal lathes swinging around on a chain. I would love to own one of those.

Harry it seems the engine is sat in that cradle behind the machine in a corner with no air flow whatsoever!! I think a complete redesign of the oil and water cooling systems with external radiators and fans that actually move a significant amount of air through the rads would be a first step to prolonging the life of the engine, not only that an oil dry sump system for each engine would give you a visible oil filter to check daily and move the oil tank/pump/filter away from the machine and make maintenance far easier for you to maintain
Those lathes were worth around £2000 each!! scrap price £140 each
Company I used to work for bought a 1 million pound machine and ended up scrapping it 10 years later as technology had advanced and no one would buy it

Glad to hear Richard is getting better.
Looking at your engine casing and cooling rads the problem is clear - air flow. Those rads need fans firstly, no where near enough air through those. Where the engines sit, has even less airflow, wouldn’t mind bettering that steel sheet acts as huge rad retaining heat too. Most new cars don’t even have sump plugs and the oil is sucked out. Sure the same can be done for those.

Punched a glass window in my front door after finding out my missus was an escort..
Yay
Severed all my ligaments nerves and tendons and main artery in my arm as well as breaking my hand and my wrist..
Lost 8 pints of blood and died for 8 n a half minutes in the back of the ambulance..
I was then put in an induced coma for 12 hours but came back fighting...
It's now 2 n a half years later and I've just started to be able to move my fingers and thumb again...
To add insult to injury, I lost my license last year for three years...
It's not been an easy few years...
Stay strong man
Try to get out for some walks in nature...
I pretty much spent a year in bed with depression with a hand that doesn't work...
Then just when I started to feel better, bye bye license..
Hope the futures a bit brighter...

Seems like scrap yards are having a tough break at the minute! Your Taurus is down, and two yards opposite ends of Suffolk had massive fires within a week of each other this past week!
I know hindsight is 20/20 but you should've considered Lindemann, or Copex, or Sierra, or Lefort!!
Good to hear Rich is on the meand. As a person who works on this type of gear daily. I can see this will be a recurring problem for you guys. My advice would be,
your spending the $ so may as well modify what you have to, and reach a good outcome. These companies push sales not after sales if your looking for a company that cares and is qaulity on all levels buy a moros

The steel sheets u need to flush mount the bolts we dyna bolt our trench plates down so cars cant fall in a hole if they get moved somehow but the dyna bolts would always get broke from trucks car and our excavators.

Brother as a fellow adhd’er that had nonstop hay fever and a jacked up septum in my nose I can tell you that getting g the surgery to fix my deviated septum is the best decision I’ve made (other than my Mrs of course). You won’t believe how much better it can be

Even here in Australia we are slowly losing our iron ore exports our mining boom has been over for a while just plateaud now it will end up going bust or downsizing we have a whole new world being forced upon us and its all a hard downhill roll the world as we knew it is gone

just as a little maybe helpful idea in front of the weight bridge maybe putting a barrior that can be raised and lowered by a button from one of the ladies or men in the office at the window and also a green or red light so that when they are ready for the next person to come onto the weight bridge that the light will go green and the barrier will lift just a idea

if you have been doing the cat oil samples when servicing you already know the engine is failing. im guessing its high lead in the oil.

Im still a bit unsure what the Taurus does and what is actually broken with it. If the engines are overheating get someone to engineer your own solution with oil coolers etc.
The Taurus is a scrap shear/baler - takes awkward sized/large steel objects and compresses them down to size, and depending on application can either cut them down i.e. shear them, where it'll then get sold direct to steel mills, or squeeze it into a cube for transport to another processor, like a fragmentation plant.
Without it, they're unable to process the material and make the most money out of the material being brought in.

Why don't you have a skip for broken glass and when customers come in they can break the glass in the skip and you could recycle it instead of the setting about the yard when people don't want to tell you it's there also I would suggest any broken glass from any metals doors or windows is not included and overall price as it cost you more to get rid of broken glass especially car glass window glass
And leave skip before weighbridge with a sing saying any broken glass break here send me a specific location just before the weighbridge for vans and cars 0:03 😁

Realistically, there is nothing to the Taurus that should make it so hard to deal with. An engine which I assume runs a hydraulic pump, maybe an alternator to generate power for the control systems and some valves. There is no reason Taurus should be ignoring your calls, unless they have realised they have fudged up really bad somewhere. What is the actual issue you are having? I read a comment that said something about engines overheating, I wonder if you can upgrade the cooling system so it has a larger cooling capacity? Assuming its designed to sit in the middle of a yard, is it possible in the corner you are having air flow issues?
Ah, watching those lathes being manhandled hurts. There is some money in them selling them as machines, but the hassle is what makes them worth scrapping I guess :(

Some bloke years ago warned you about taurus in the comments, he said it was a bunch of junk and they are not reliable.. You shot him down on the next video and told him he knows nothing..

@@gregshearer423 May or may not be the case, but did Taurus give harry permission to remove the engines for inspection ??If so there must be some form of communication either way this Something he has already done which will void the warranty if it was in place and Taurus will get out of it that way. End of day a judge will decide but ive worked on heavy plant and that machine shouldn't of been placed where it has been. From the limited info that been provided it sounds like a overheating problem with the oil which has caused premature ware of the engines.Whoever was in charge in service ing that machine should be responsible as a good fitter would have pulled the plug and said move it due to the confines of yard boundaries which in all essence shouldn't have to be 4 meter high concrete block encasing the machine and not allowing it to breathe. Hardworking machine will break if the oil becomes contaminated and if it had a service schedule the fitter should have seen it before it happened.
