She worked in first colour film of India along with Nadira ,Prem nath and Dilip saab.
Hats off to Nimmi Ji. Her role in Amar - 1954 and her involved-action in the song 'Na Milta Gham to Barbadi Ke Afsaane Kahan Jaate' made me to cry like a child even not knowing the meanings of the lyrics (being south indian not knowing lyrical Hind)'. Such action of hers is great and unexpected with any other actress of such other innocent personality-roles. One can see and feel the underlying soulful feelings in her action in the song 'Ek Baath Kahoon Mere Piya' which is very fresh in my thoughts. The Interviewer also is dignified, had respect towards whom he is interviewing. His style of interview is simple, straight, humble, pleasant and the way it should be. Not like today's interviewers. Hats off to him.

I saw the movie Aan recently and Nimmi ji was a show stealer in the movie despite the presence of big stars like Dilip Kumar and Premnath. What an amazing performance!

So nice to see Nimmiji after a long time . She was a great actor ,very natural and her delivery of dialogues was so awesome.Her films always made me cry. Deedar and Daag are the two films which are still my favourite films. Wish Nimmiji a long happy life!

I have seen almost all movies of Nimmiji. She was no doubt a very versatile actress. She was absent for a long time but when she appeared in Mere Mehboob I was very much pleased. In Mere Mehboob she played a small role but the way she gives justice to even such a small role it gives you an idea of her versatility.

Nimmi was a great actress of the yesteryears - stunning performances in many great movies - notably Aan and many others. Her roles with Dilip Kumar were very well received. Great programme and a super reminder of old artists. Thanks for the presentation.

Nimmiji your interview was excellent. We have seen some of your movies and songs many times. At the end of the interview as you have mentioned that you are very hindostani and can't do bold scenes as in hollywood movies and so you refused hollywood movies. I salute you and respect you that you made the right decision and remained in bollywood and did lot more good movies. Long life to you and bless you and your family.

Nimmi is amongst the most talented and versatile actor of the golden era. She worked under the most renowned directors of major banners. They knew her potential and cast in lead and parallel rolls which she did with complete ease and confidence. Most often she over shadowed her co stars. Watch AMAR and you will know what l am talking about. No one can deny her well deserved rightful legacy in the annals and history of lndian cinema. Regretfully they fell short in their appreciation. Let's pay tribute to her contribution and honour her in hall of fame.

Irfan Bhai, Mein heran hu ki Nimmiji aur unki tarah na jaane kitne kalakar waqt ki iss dhod mein, peeche kisi bhooli hui parchaiyon mein unka astitv reh gaya hain. Kitna shukriyada karein aapka aur aapki team ka jinhone yeh amulya, anmol interview kiye hain, woh bhi itni sadgi, immandari, aur prem se. Wah! Hat`s off!!
My two cents about Nimmiji:
1. Indeed, she is as sweet, cute, innocent, and genuine as ever.
2. Among many other song sequences, I loved her in a charming street dance with David Abraham as a dholak player. Lataji sang the song " Is duniyaan mein sab chor chor" to it. That clip from Bhai Bhai(1956) is on YT's Suhanee2 channel.
3.When I was a student in Meerut around the late 1950s, a local magnate had an American car right outside his large compound that people used to come gawk at. It was said to have once belonged to Nimmiji. Another measure of star status!
I have seen only a couple of her songs on tv but did not know how wonderful of a person she is. It was indeed a delight to know her and hear her speak urdu through this interview. She has lost her perfect pearly smile, beauty and youth yet her charm is still intact.
One thing is for sure yester years film heroines all speak so we'll, and Nimmi at this age still looks like Nimmi. The actresses of these times had unique good looks. Lovely interview. Thank you

ONE OF THE BEST ACTRESSES OF INDIAN CINEMA.SHE DID NOT RECEIVE ENOUGH RECOGNITION FOR HER BRILLIANT ACTING.
HOW GRACEFUL SIMPLE AND DOWN TO EARTH YOU ARE NIMMI ji.
I wish she has some relatives and friends who can look after her in old age and take care of her medical checkup and other needs and guide her properly, unlike Suriayaji who had no close relatives to look after her and help her with her
medical well being. Maybe, she would have lived longer, if only for her fans, had somebody taken better care for her physical and spiritual fitness. I think Cine Associations, if they really exist in Mumbai, should provide total assistance to aging single artistes, and also form a fund to help financially weaker artistes, with respectable persons in the Board. Actors such as Rishi Kapoor , Amitabh Bachan, Rekha, could head this Trust. Maybe, the State and Union Cultural Ministries can formulate policies and give Tax concessions etc. to such trusts. Rich actors would gladly contribute in such trusts, if they are really helpful to them and poorer artistes in old age. Singer Mubarak begum is a case in point, who has been constantly asking for help for last four years in her old age.
Oh is she no more? She was such a lovely lady.

RIP Nimmi ji who passed away 5/6 days ago on 25.3.2020.
When I see her face, I am so attracted to her eyes, the colour and sparkle. Is she still with us? If only the interviews done by this programme have English subtitles, it would help a lot for us non-Indians to share the stories told by these great actresses. I noticed no interview done with Mala Sinha.
Aaan was the first movie to be released worldwide. Thumbs up..
