      The current Impact roster is full of good athletes, but it doesn't have 1/10 of the star power and star appeal seen in this game. Not even close, it's abysmal compared to the good old years of TNA. You need more than a bunch of good athletes to sell something as expensive to produce like a video game, Impact just doesn't have any real stars right now to sell this type of merch. AEW on the other hand definitely has the right roster to produce one.

    @jediknightgeo Před 3 lety +1

    Great video, just a slight correction though. The PS2/PSP/Wii version of TNA Impact were actually developed by Point Of View Inc. (Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Spawn Armageddon, Blitz The League). They had a very good and long working relationship with Midway developing many of their games/ports. Sadly, like Midway, they are no longer around. Check out the DS version of Impact if you can. It was developed by Double Tap Games (Deadliest Catch Sea Of Chaos, Touchmaster Connect) and was made from the ground up for the system. It also has 3 exclusive playable characters in Mick Foley, Consequences Creed & Hulk Hogan. The gameplay modes are Single, Tag Team, Ultimate X, Four Corners & Steel Cage. You also have Bound For Glory which is basically the story mode. What's cool is that each story is completely different for every character. You also have Victory Road which is a basically a tournament style mode where you compete for the Heavyweight Championship, Tag Team Championship & Ultimate X Championship. All in all it's not that bad for the DS.

      I had the xbox 360 version. Create a player was pretty bare bones and lame. I always liked the smackdown series more, but really the Ultimate X match was really fun. I really wished the sequal came out because while this game was sort of a letdown, it had HUGE potential. Ultimate X was new and unique, the reversals were so fun, especially reversing reversals into another reversal, It was awesome the first couple matches but yah, the move selection was extremely limited, no weapons other than chairs, etc. It became repetitive really quick.

    The controls on the Wii was decent, but what did suck was the lack of an entrance, like come on its 2008 and we're getting the Nintendo 64 treatment. The animation looks good, but the few second animation entrance and no tag team entrance made me feel un happy.
    Some stuff wasn't bad, just unique. Same for the finishers.

    We used to own this on Xbox 360 back in the day and I played it a fair bit and remembered liking it as we all were fans of TNA back then, but then my brothers sold it and I never really played it again after that. Interestingly the game also seems to run on the same engine as All Stars I think, they both play similar and share many sounds such as the menu sounds. I'd like to get this game again, probably for my PS3 so I can play it again after all these years as I never really got to play it a whole lot. I think this game had serious potential and a sequel could've been very good but sadly we never got that sequel, I wish we did as having more alternatives to WWE's games would've been a good thing even if it was just 1 promotion. I remember playing it for the ps3
    I rented it, beat it in 2 days, wished there was more to it because of how much I loved what it did have to offer.
    If a sequel would've been made they probably could've afforded to do everything they couldn't get into this game done in that 1...

    Six Sides of Steel would've been a great addition to the game.

    This game had the guy from ready to rumble boxing on 360 as an unlockable. I remember the thing that sucked so much was THERE ARE ALMOST NO BACK GRAPPLE MOVES. I did have a lot of fun with it but it could have been so much better like NikaTeen says.

    I never got it for PS2/Wii because of the lack of create a wrestler mode, was waiting to get a 360/PS3 but I never got one XD, still if I ever get one I'm getting this, this had so much potential

      A 2k19 review would be awesome, since a lot of people are still playing the game to this day. Timing would be fantastic.

    Completely fair analysis! This game was fun for what it was but it definitely could've been better..sad midway bankrupted..TNA Impact 2 would've been amazing and more detailed. Impact Wrestling could make a video game..they are finally healthy and stable. I see 2022-2023 as the next opportunity.

    one of the most promising wrestling game in ps2 era, there are few things missing but the actions made the game really fun for me. No create a wrestler for ps2 , Kevin Nash height during game was wrong. but other than that the game was fun to play, and boy those scans really works like magic.
