      Yeah, asbolutely drove myself nuts with that one. No idea why, it was like some weird ninja blind spot that I kept walking into, at least it was funny

      @@crucible_of_words Some thoughts:
      - Switching the Xander's Lounge for Elegant Parlor. I missed another White mana land a couple of times and since you don't need the black and the blue from the Lounge (yes it cycles, but Parlor can work great too with the Timeless Dragon). May have to test it further.
      - Idk about the third Forth Eorlinga's in main for the Turn the Earth. May switch it for the Council's Judgment in SB and put another Council in SB, that card is so good in this deck. Yes it's slower, but hits everything.
      - I also thinking about cutting 1 Dowser as multiples in play aren't needed that much, Portent can be really good here too, or a single spell Pierce to catch early drops.
      But overall, i like the Control shell, been testing 4c-control shells a lot for the past year.

    Since theres no leyline binding the xanders lounge should be raugrin triome imo

      The black mana can come up for Prismatic Ending alongside the volc for all five colours, but it's very marginal.

    This guy said Leyline Dowser is the new EI, and when we didn't believe him he took it personally!!!

    • @crucible_of_words
      @crucible_of_words  Před 3 měsíci

      It's not the new EI, but it might be the new Up The Beanstalk / Staff of the Storyteller ;)

      @@crucible_of_words You really think it is more likely than not (50%+1 Iota) that it is the up the beanstalk???? You seem smart, I really hope not.... :/.

      @@joshdavis3743 The thing with Leyline Dowser, is that it doesn't need other specific spells to dig for you. So when you are in a bad spot, it just keeps doing its thing. The fact it also ignores Bowmaster is kind of huge too. The deckbuilding restrictions for it are also far less harsh so you can run it in decks that don't wreck their mana for Leyline Binding etc. It also doesn't deck you in the same way that Beanstalk can, which may sound like a non-consideration, but the amount of controlly mirrors that come down to decking in at least one game are surprisingly high.
      It felt amazing in Esper the other week, which is a deck that can't run Beanstalk, and this Hot Bant list felt very tasty to me.

    down 4+ min on the clock in game 1 match one, and agonizes forever over every meaningless decision... don't know what happens, but timing out seems well deserved. instead of just passing and winning with what you have digging over and over for a card you don't need...

    • @crucible_of_words
      @crucible_of_words  Před 3 měsíci

      I fully acknowledge that I'm somewhat novice with Hot Bant lists and this was the first time running this exact list. I make sure to mention the timeout was on me and not the deck

      @@crucible_of_words yeah, later you said so, but time management is still important. :) esp when playing a control deck on mtgo, you didn't get punished but there was no way you had a chance in game 3 if you didn't win game 2. Was no reason to keep playing stuff just to play it when you are in a won position and falling way behind on the clock, that was my only point.
