Sometimes i get so hung up on details like shoes and accessories, even when the shoes and accessories aren't visible in my photos.
Or when i'm briefly stuck on inconsequential things like my dolls having enough money for something, a remote control for the television, toilet paper etc.. you know?
Stupid little details that don't even matter because the world that i am creating is an imaginary one.
i also feel myself getting emotional about my dolls sometimes.
For example:
If i take a shine to a singular doll, i might start to feel guilty for neglecting everyone else.
i don't know why it is, but it's like i have to constantly remind myself that it's all make-believe and that i don't "HAVE" to do ANYTHING.
i think Instagram plays a part in it as well.
The doll worlds that most people are creating on Instagram seems so full and real most times.
It gets easier to start thinking that my Barbie doll NEEDS things like:
• An ice tray so that she can have ice in her drink.
• A vintage-styled stereo system
• A cellphone
and whatever else people are adding to their photos for the sake of "realism".
Of course, no one is forcing me to buy any of those things, but you've got to admit that there's some kind of pressure being applied.
But ANYWAY, thank you for reminding me that there aren't any rules in this game and to just have fun.

You might tell yourself that
1. You are buying the toilet paper for the house they live in (yours)
2. Not everything that looks expensive is expensive
3. I'm guessing your dolls are adults which means that they're responsible for themselves
Blake - I too, empathize with my bebes...right now, Ruby is slightly 'pouty' because of all the attention I gave to Delilah this past week.
They're both *so* beautiful, though (just in different ways). 💖
Oh! This is knowledge I have! Grommets are the ones that have an actual metal backing, so they are essentially two pieces before they are put through garments. Eyelets are one piece that splays out in the back when pressed in.
Eyelets are easier to get in doll sizes because they use little ones for scrapbooking.
I agree with you 100%, I really like the circle bag with the sun, and the fanny pack, but most of the rest is “meh”. I was expecting more from Rainbow High. Mini Fashion definitely wins.
Those purses are awesome! When I saw how Sunny's bag matched her jacket... Dead. But that box room at the end? Lady, you keep blowing my mind with your doll rooms! So glad I've saved all of my boxes. You bring so much happiness to my day. ❤
The snakeskin handbag you got is a different shape than the one on the collector's guide.
I guess part of the $10 price is the shiny boxes and the nicely made dust cover bags, but most of the bags I don't feel are worth the $10.

I'll have to say ( as a complete tomboy and almost 60) I LOVE the Mini Fashion bags a lot better.; they look like the real thing but shrunk. Not to mention all those nice accessories. The Rainbow High bags look like doll toys.

Those deva dolls are so beautiful! I usually can't stand the size of the outfits, but the rainbow high dolls all look so adorable!
I think the justification for the difference comes from the fact that $10 RH shoes can really only be used best by RH dolls, vs RH bags that are a lot more universal snd can be used by all 1/6 dolls!
Is this true about the shoes? I am awaiting some Rainbow High shoes and dearly hoping they fit Moxie Teenz. Does anyone know if they do??
I have to say, Mini Fashion wins with the quality but I can’t describe how much I enjoyed the unboxing experience of the Rainbow High accessories! I might even start watching the show to fill the Sommer and Cali/Life on the shelf sized hole in my life! I love the aesthetics of the Rainbow divas! I don’t love dolls with oversized heads but I love the obviously designer inspired fashions with Rainbow High, just like Barbie used to be.

I can remember when my older cousins Barbie doll clothes had actual little working buttons and zippers. Come to think of it, I can remember trying to fiddle with tiny little doll buttons! Then came snaps, so much easier. Velcro may have started in the late 70's to early 80's? Must admit, I do miss those wonderful old details.

Here’s a small hack! If your clothes won’t close at the back (and they use Velcro) you can make a little extender with small pieces of adhesive Velcro and strips of fabric, just like jewelry extenders!!!

I'm so glad the shoe and purse colors match the boxes! THIS is how you do blind bags lol I agree with you about the purses and shoes coming together. They're definitely sets, and that would make more sense for the $10 price tag.

An eyelet has two pieces, a front and back that squash together, a grommet has only one side that squashes at the back, iirc. :)

I have an idea for you Toya! Since most of the Rainbow High tops don't fit barbies, how about making a matching top for the bottoms that fit the barbies!
You should make your Barbies some top extenders for other brand fashions that won't fasten. Just take a small strip of stretchy fabric that matches skin tones or some decorative ribbon with elastic and sew velcro to both ends so they can attach to the tops. Edited to add, OR you could attach some velcro to two D rings and then add whatever ribbon or elastic you need to match the outfit.
Those dust bags are cute but i wonder if they're big enough to make doll pillows or a dress out of them?

Loved this video Toya! I tasted the Rainbow 🌈 & got loads of them, the all of 1st series Shadow High! And multiples of Mini Fashion, until I managed to get a complete set. 😂Now I’m trying to slowdown, so I really appreciate your review of the RH offerings. The only handbag I really love is Sunny’s, but I’d need to buy the doll then too. 🤣 So probably best I just enjoy these handbags from afar. Loved your craft! Once I get to deboxing more this winter, I’ll definitely be making some hidden rooms using your techniques! 🥰❤️

I think you should try making velcro extenders for the dresses that dont fit. Think of bra-extenders but velcro. That would be pretty handy for a lot of outfits.

I...BLAME...YOU! I am not a doll collector! I am a collector of dinosaurs and small action figures. But I went into Walmart yesterday and was wandering the toy aisle, as one does, and Rainbow High was on sale. Not usually something that would tempt me. But there was a PURPLE one! I'm a little dazed about how exactly it happened but somehow it came home with me. I gotta say it really is gorgeous. It feels well made and it was neat that it came with enough clothes that you could mix and match. I DON'T NEED another collection! 😅 Maybe I'll make a saddle and she can ride one of my sauropods.

I was on the fence about the bags. I am not a big one for blind bags because I will wind up with a lot of duplicates. I once bought 10 packs and got 9 of the same item. But watching you, I need the Mini Fashion bags. And since I have a shoe thing, I will be getting the RH shoes. My husband laughs because I will wear the same pair of shoes until they fall apart and my criteria for handbags includes being able to toss them in the wash. But my dolls need FASHION!
