Lovely camp Mr. Banana - Hi Mrs. Banana Seeing that footage of walking thru the night woods reminded me of a story I heard.... please forgive me if its long winded. Heard it from an old friend of my late Brother about when they were in their late teens out in CA. Back around 71 my Brother, and 3 friends - went on what was supposed to be a day hike - and attempting to summit a sierra mountain peak - only to realize (too late) that they wouldn't make it down before nightfall. So, having turned around, they quickly found themselves lost in dense pine bonking their heads. getting poked by branches, and so forth. This went on for say a couple of hours until they eventually stumbled out on to a forest road. After hiking along the switchback for a spell luck would prevail; they saw this flashing amber barricade warning light, and made quick use of the light in order to continue downwards. Apparently, they would time their steps with the lights rhythm , arms over each others shoulders, and took turns being on point. Important footnote: they um.... had consumed....a certain substance.... that was popular during that time period in the Bay area. Anyways, they enshrined the light while descending with a name pronounced "IP" after the situation they were in; IP stood for "intermediate problem." Its kind of funny to me now - realizing that my older Brother, and his friends - where just as stupid then, as my friends, and I were growing up several years later.

It has been a while due to medical conditions, but it was worth the wait. A friend of mine has 30 acres of woods and let me camp. Thank you so much for getting me back out!

Learned a lot of things from you seriously.. but a funny thing I learned is always keeping 8 Arby's sauce packets in my hiking/bug out bag just in case I forget seasoning.

And yea the locals are very cool and I appreciate them packing out their trash as well. Another beaut Sam! Little tip for your flat zone axe work. If you make multiple cuts with the saw (say 10) all about 2 inches apart and the same depth, you can knock the chunks out real easy and it will be super flat. Cheers bro!

Always have a back up. You eat better than I do. Then again I did pizza out in the woods. It involved a Dutch oven but got the job done. Camp looks good. Actually cozy. I tend to sleep off ground. less hassle. Rain aint a problem. You deal with it. Snow is much worse. I'd rather be wet and miserable rather than cold and frozen. And I've done both
That food looks so good! I don't think you would need any BBQ sauce or salt. Since it is a chilly night, hot food and fire sounds real good! You are good at cutting the wood. A nice flashlight!
Great video, Sam! You've got me motivated to get out there. I booked this coming Saturday until the following Wednesday. Unlike you, I'll be returning to my nice warm camper trailer in the evenings.
