  • Recorded in 2009 - the exile band: un|broken album
a bruised reed He will not break, and a faintly burning wick He will not quench
    Isaiah 42:3
All of us have tasted brokenness at some stage of our lives. To deny this also exists in our walk of faith would be dishonest as we find ourselves sometimes confused, even angry as we try to understand God’s will and purpose. This album emerges from that struggle, so clearly seen in the Psalms, of God’s people longing to serve Him with a fervour born of love, despite doubts and despair at the evil in the world, the church and ourselves that causes us to see ‘through the glass darkly’.
Having been broken before Him though, with the reality of our sins and our failures, we find ourselves un|broken, forgiven, lifted in praise and adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ, the King of glory, Lord of lords and the Author of our faith.
This album is dedicated to all those involved in the struggle of life, love and righteousness with the prayer of the exile band that you will come through the battles to know Him closer than a brother.
    Hallelujah
    by Steph Macleod
    Soloist: Steph Macleod
I wrote this for a friend when he got married. After writing it I realised how much God had given me when I married my own wife, who has been a true blessing in my life. I have tried to write down a little bit of what that means.
We are one, we are one,
We are one in the Lord.
    And we will love,
For the Father loved us first, you know,
We love in the name of the Lord.
    We’ll be singing Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah in the name of the Lord.
We will stand, we will stand,
We will stand as one in the name of the Lord.
He picks me up when I fall down,
He's got me smiling when the sun goes down,
You know we stand in the name of the Lord.
All I am, all I am,
All I am is yours in the name of the Lord.
Together we'll follow in the steps
Of the one who rose up from the depths,
He rose, so we could love in the name of the Lord!
