Birds Inflight Nikon Z8 Updates to my Shooting Bank A Settings- An evening with Barn Swallows

In this video we go out to our local estuary in search of Barn Swallows. We will take a look at some of the changes I have made to my shooting bank A photo settings for birds in-flight. After 8 months and over 100,000 photos with my Nikon Z8 I have made a few changes specifically switching out the 3D af to Custom area wide settings on my fn2 button for my cycle AF autofocus settings. We will take a look at how these changes were made and why, and how they then perform in the field.

Hi Manoj, I am using the Leofoto Ln-364C Tripod amzn.to/3zBkr0P with a Manfrotto 502Ah Video Head. I have been quite happy with the setup. It's a good value setup imo. Not cheap but certainly not the most expensive either.

You’re taking a huge number of shots, maybe couple thousand or more. What software do you use quickly to preview and delete the ones you obviously don’t want?

Hi Guermeister, I use Lightroom Classic for all my cataloguing and culling. With shoots like this you can delete in big batches, anything a bit further away is an easy cull, and this is definitely not a typical shoot but I have got it down to a reasonably efficient process, that I will be taking a look at in future videos
