Theda Hammel & John Early on Stress Positions "I'm talking about queerness in the way I want to"

Theda Hammel makes her feature debut as writer-director-composer-editor and star with Stress Positions, which world premiered in the US Dramatic Competition at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and was the Closing Night selection of MOMA's New Directors/New Films festival. She is reunited with actor John Early who starred in her 2022 short film My Trip to Spain, which also premiered at Sundance. With Stress Positions opening at New York's IFC Center on Friday, February 19th, followed by Los Angeles and other select cities in the US from NEON on Friday, April 26th, Theda Hammel and John Early have an exclusive conversation with The Queer Review's editor James Kleinmann.

I liked the film but the stuff she says starting at 15:37 she sounds like she’s trying to dump queer people in with predators and stuff, that’s not how the word queer is used anymore, just seemed weird.
