I bought some Athlon binocs from Costco many years ago. I bought them because i was on a budget and just took a chance. I have been very impressed with them. I have since bought Vortex Viper binocs for myself and have given the Athlons to my 14 year old. There isnt that much of a difference between the 2 given the 2.5x difference in price. I would absolutely consider an Athlon rifle scope for a budget build.
I bought the 4.5-27x50 version and for the money I paid...($600) It makes you think hard about spending any more for marginal improvements. The only thing I can't comment on yet is long-term durability.
