Dude, THANK YOU for talking about the stupidity of saying "you just take a pill" and it's done. It's not just out of whack hormones, it's not just a severe period. My friend didn't tell anybody, stayed at home and suffered for hours in her bathtub. Her pregnancy was only like 12 weeks along, she had to pass the placenta, it was horrific for her. It's easy to say you don't think it's a big deal because it's just a fetus, but it's a huge, difficult, traumatic choice.
I hear so many women recommending other women to go the surgery route over the pill route because it’s so awful. The pill sounds like the easier option but you have to deal with an induced miscarriage by yourself with no help. The physical and mental pain of such an experience is extremely taxing. The fact that women would prefer tons of paperwork and then doctors forcing them open and sucking out their uterus over taking the pills just shows how traumatic medical abortions are. Of course to men it’s just “taking a pill” because they don’t have to deal with the aftermath of such a choice.

There are only 3 clinics in my state where they're allowed to perform abortions, and it takes 6-8 weeks to get an appointment. By the time my friend would have had her appointment the pregnancy would have been past the legal gestation age to have one, it's why she took the pill route. I was so upset that she chose to go through it alone too, I think because it's so downplayed women aren't prepared. The guy she was with was completely detached from it and would get annoyed with her when she'd want to talk about it. The audacity of these MFs it blows my mind lol

There are SOOOOO many health risks to having an abortion. When I was younger I was assaulted and I became pregnant. I had an abortion BUT I also ended up getting Cervical Cancer at 18 years old. No one told me that if a woman has n abortion she is 60% more likely to develop Cancer. For some like myself it wasn't just Cervical Cancer it also developed into other forms of Cancer. 18, Cervical Cancer then at 22 Ovarian Cancer at 30 with a full hysterectomy, then at 37 I developed a Grandular Cancer in my left arm as it spread from my Ovaries before the surgery. My advice is if one makes the choice GET ALL THE PROS & CONS before you make the choice. Had I known, I would've given the child up for adoption. I am 39 years old and STILL have lasting issues from an abortion I had at 18..... Plan appropriately before you take that "camping" trip.

As a woman, i really appreciate you elaborating on just how traumatizing abortion can be. It is NOT an easy decision for us but people talk like it is.
The attitude that the dudes from Fresh & Fit is what fuels so much of the animosity between men and women.
Like you said, its a few minutes of pleasure for guys but the aftermath a girl has to go through is so rudely brushed off as if our bodies arent being sacrificed and drained for another life. That kind of disregard would enrage anyone.

I understand that is true but then logically women should not in aggregate be so loose and not at all prudent in who they choose to have sex with and how often they have sex in general. The consequences are literally higher as a woman even if you do get the guy to pay for child support. I can’t understand why the vast majority of women in 2024 choose to have sex with multiple partners without being married and often not being in an actual relationship at all.
It's not an easy decision to make, clearly. Obviously, it's an imperfect solution. Hopefully, science will come up with an alternative that's cleaner and safer.
As a guy who has had a lot of casual/semi-casual hookups in recent years, I can say that you never hook up with anyone without a condom. Always get your male partner to wear one. For both your sakes, not just to avoid the mess of abortion but also STIs.

There's a large sector of men who believe that a girl making a guy wait until marriage is unrealistic and they have a lot of influence. Especially since for the most part, a lot of guys are socialized that they become a man the first time they have sex with a girl.
As a girl, a lot of us are socialized that we have to please our partners to get married. You can see how disastrous that can get.
Not only that but even with boyfriends/partners, there's this thing called stealthing where a guy put on a condom but in the heat of the moment, he'll slip it off because he wants to feel more. This happens WAY more often than you might believe.
Even if the guy doesn't release in you, you have a chance to get pregnant. A lot of people believe that a guy achieving orgasm is all that's needed but doing it raw PERIOD is risky. A lot of why this isn't known is due to the severe lack of sex education. That shit is important.
Also, while I can't speak for older generations, my gen (Gen Z, Zoomers) statistically have the LEAST amount of sex out of every generation out there. Men & Women both. Most people have only had a FEW partners and those who've had double digits (or the legendary triple digits) are actually very rare and only seem common because of the sensational nature of the internet where all of the loud weirdos are seen and take most of the attention.
In reality, most people, normies, are hardly having sex. It's part of the reason why there's people freaking out about the plummeting replacement rate for babies (The rate saying that in order to maintain the populace, the average births per woman needs to be 2.5). That alone is a testament to how little people are doing this nowadays. Gen X & Boomers were actually the most sexually active....and most risky with it too, but that's also due to the lack of availability of contraceptives too.
TL;DR a lot of women aren't having sex as often as a lot of people online will make you believe. It's happening so infrequently that governments (not just in America) are freaking out about population growth (in truth, they'd probably encourage unwanted pregnancies just to maintain in, ngl)

I used the at home pill in my early 20s. and I can say it was very rough on the body. First the stress of having to deal with an immature partner, thus having to do it all without them (luckily I had my mother during the forced miscarriage) I was very nervous and opted for the pill because I felt like the clinic route would’ve made me feel far more anxious so I decided I’d feel safer within my own home. I had no idea what to expect… it was very painful. I felt like vomiting at one point due to the intense pain and I have never seen so much leave my body in short period of time. I honestly think I blocked out some of the trauma around that experience just to protect myself. Women do go through so much and it is very different from the struggles men endure. Sure it builds resilience and strength but can definitely harbor a lot of undealt with emotions and pain.

I got sick at 16, had a Bone Marrow transplant at 22, fully recovered by 27, married my wife at 28(with me since high-school).
I ALWAYS wanted kids, even in high-school. I wanted to be the father my dad wasn't. I was told the only way I could have kids is invitro with my frozen supermarket from before my transplant.
Fast forward, about 2 months ago(now 31) I was at the doctors for my usual tests I have to get(forever basically) and she sent me a picture of 2 pregnancy tests. I was shocked, she was too. I was told there's like less than a 1% chance of having children naturally.
She took 3 more Pregnancy tests and we got blood work. She's pregnant. I've NEVER been more happy.
Last week we got to see the baby for the first time and I cried 🤷♂️

Aba was right to be very serious about the dangers of hormone changes and extremes. We should not be flippant about it.

My man and I had a birth control failure early into our relationship. I ended up having an abortion and it ruined my mental health. I was drowning in guilt and pain and loss. I found a Christian based support group that helped me tremendously. I still feel that ache some times and I would never consider ever having another one. Abortion is extremely hard on all people involved.
Edit: this was my personal experience. It was my best option at the time even though I felt a lot of guilt after. If you weren’t affected, good for you. People are different and I always thought I’d be unaffected if I ever had one. Abortion can very much be traumatizing hence why support groups exist. Nuance will always be needed in this conversation, but I shouldn’t have people making me feel bad for being affected.

I had something like this happen in my life. About eight years ago, my friend knocked up this foreign exchange student from Japan. She didn't know she was pregnant until she went back home, and when she got in touch to tell him, he sent her money for an abortion, but she used that money to buy a plane ticket instead after she had the kid. He wasn't in a stable living situation at the time, and he was crashing on my couch. Pretty soon, they had taken over the bedroom in my apartment and I was out on the couch.
The kid was sick all the time, but my friend was all into this New Age medicine phase, and he was taking the kid to this quack doctor who used herbal remedies and magnets. One week I was getting ready to go to work when I heard that they had to take the baby to the emergency room, and he passed away shortly thereafter. It was one of the saddest moments of my life. My friend never recovered and our friendship was fractured over it. A couple times he even blamed me for the child's death because there was supposedly "black mold" in my apartment.

A true friend never would have blamed you for this death. I don’t think men understand how harsh abortion is on a woman’s body. An acquaintance of mine had one (only one month pregnant). And had the physical effects for month and her mental health literally crashed. It was so heartbreaking to witness. This was years ago and to this day she still thinks about the baby.

If she ends up pregnant she’s going to be crying when he dumps her, refuses to pay child support, and leaves her struggling raising a child on her own. And you know what, that’s entirely on her.

That’s all you need to know to understand that he is *very* unlikely to stick around or pay child support if she gets pregnant. And if he doesn’t sign the birth certificate, that baby is not legally his and he’s under no obligation to support it. Even if she manages to get him to pay, he can always relinquish his rights as a father which would completely wash his hands of any responsibility. She’s asking for trouble and she’s being really dumb. You should tell her now that she’s setting herself up because later on she’s going to be crying that she didn’t think this would happen to her and that she doesn’t understand why the father doesn’t want anything to do with his baby.
