It is not fair to compare India's debt to China's debt without taking into account the size of their respective economies. If you want you can compare with China and US.
Secondly, You mentioned like the US did in 1900 India will do, Brother which Indian companies will do that? Our talents are migrating to abroad, The political leaders in US is much better than India, they build awesome infrastructure, education etc. in their country so they grow. What happening here? It’s part of legend or economic folklore, How USA overcome the economic crisis called Great Depression with the help of the Second World War and How US Dollar was catapulted into the status of world reserve currency after the Breton wood conference of 1944 and how the present economic order was established in same conference by starting of World Bank and IMF. World war played a huge role in the development and we can simply say that Breton wood conference was an outcome of the Second World War.
We have to understand how USD snatched the status of GB Pound sterling. how Britain lost the colonial power status due to this which led to partition of British India (so called independence). Communist takeover of China also happened in the same period as an outcome of world war 2.
My point is, Economic crisis leads to war and destruction and emergence of new world order.
In my opinion, ruling elite of China and Russia (Putin and Xi Jin ping) believe that China is the next superpower after USA . India has to be prepared for war against China
