    White vinegar will dissolve hard water deposits very efficiently. If you dont want to replace your shower head or the screen filters on your faucet soak them in vinegar for a few hours or overnight and brush lightly with s soft brush and rinse.

      Although Anchor Girl regularly uses vinegar when cleaning, the replacement showerhead is already sitting on the boat awaiting my installation 🙂

    Paul don’t forget to drain that line under the sink next fall.

    Good thing - I’m finally in after a couple week delay due to personal travel and fixing the cooling system, both impeller and thermostat. Bad thing - due to the unusually warm weather, the party people are already in and partying - usually we have peace and quiet until the end of May before it gets loud.

      Sorry to hear that. Although we are new to the current marina, they have strict noise rules and will not tolerate folks getting out of hand, so that's a good thing for us.

    We also had a small drip coming from our bar faucet when we turned the water on. I’m hoping I have the fix for it tonight when we get to the boat so I can put everything under the sink away. Cheers.

    I had the same thing happen to me with our cockpit sink. Turned on the water and nothing was coming out. Couldn't figure it out until I noticed my feet getting wet. I'm going to start using the RV filters this year. I have no complaint about our water at the marina, but it can't hurt to filter it first. Thanks for sharing the idea.

      Happily, the carpet that got a little wet has dried up completely. I actually started to remove the fridge to check behind for water before deciding that a couple of dry days would do the trick - and it did. One more lesson learned. . .

    I live full time in an RV, I would highly suggest a portable water softener also (after the inline filter)... it will stop that scaling, especially with really hard water that happens with well water and city water... we use Blutech, but there are other options

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před 2 měsíci

      Thanks for your insights, but adding a full blown system wouldn't provide any benefits for us. As I've mentioned previously, we only use the water from the onboard system for cleaning, as no matter how clean and clear the water might be when it enters the system, the 25 year old plumbing lines will always compromise that supply. For drinking (coffees, etc.) and cooking, we take bottled water...

  • @davelawrence6777

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo

    Hi Paul try to put a big owl plastic from Canadian tire so the birds won’t poop on your boat. I did that last year and no more poop problems

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Mike, no sooner than I read this comment, we had a pigeon land and park himself within 4' of the owl that currently resides above Boogaboo 😂 Yup, we moved her over to the summer slip and inherited a plastic owl dangling from the rafters, but it's doing nothing more than providing regular mockings from the local birdies 🤣

    This is our first year with our boat, i am nervous about the docking. Ok let me refrase that, nervous about the hubby docking. He is doing ok, but i am still nervous, is this a normal thing?

    • @BoatingWithBoogaboo
      @BoatingWithBoogaboo  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Being a little nervous isn't uncommon, but that will pass with all the successful dockings that are sure to follow. Just try not to show that fear, or it will influence his confidence. Remember a couple of things; not every docking is going to look professional - after 25 years I still have an odd 'oops' moment - but that's okay. Nobody is judging you and if the first attempt is playing out in your favour, there's no shame in backing away and doing it again.
      The other thing is paramount - only approach anything as fast as you're willing to hit it 😉 I say that in all seriousness, as the wind or current might have other ideas and it's a lot easier to correct at DEAD SLOW speeds.
      In case you missed it, check out my lovely Anchor Girl docking our boat all by herself. Well, with a bit of coaching on my part ; czcams.com/video/Yccayln1ldQ/video.html

      When I first previewed this video for Anchor Girl, I told her that I was expecting a few comments on how clean the engine room is. And you win the prize for being the first 🤣
      On a more serious note (but I can only be serious for a very short time, so bear with me), although the bilge has gotten cleaner, it still has a way to go before I reveal the glorious clean that is still hiding under some grime in the corners 😉
