I use cinnamon water spray and no more mealy bugs. :) Also ground cinnamon is a SUPER natural root starter medium. :) Absolutely love your channel! I learned so much! Thank you, Liz!!
Thank you. Have to try that out and thanks also for watching.
@@hogwallowsoaps thank you for the cinnamon tip. I usually just tell myself “I’m not trying to get rid of the mealy bugs, just control them” because it’s impossible to get rid of them. I watched a video the other day where Liz mentioned they give her monstrosa and variegate varieties and I agree somewhat. They also dwarf growth and I do like a tight plant. But sometimes they inhibit growth in ugly ways too. It’s a balancing act.
Hi,may I ask how do you prepare the cinnamon spray? Is it literally cinnamon powder + water? Is there any ratio/measurement needed? :) Thank you! Hope to hear from you.
Make sure it’s real cinnamon. In the USA, often times it’s not 💯 cinnamon. Yay more fake foods 😮
What a gorgeous plant. You’re a woman after my own heart, I also adore succulents and tropicals. I have over 100 houseplants and I also grow my own garden flowers, fruit and veg. I’m currently cross breeding my sempervivum this year. Hopefully I’ll get some nice hybrids in the end. Thank you for your amazing advice you’re the best channel on CZcams!
That sure is a lovely succulent, I’ll be looking out for this one, thanks for sharing Liz
I love how you just Sharpied on the leaves the name. So smart.

Hello Liz. I always love to hear your voice so very calm. And I love so much your succulents lovely and beautiful.
"Now it's a dead mealy bug..." So satisfying.. 😁
Once again, a fantastic video, the plants look gorgeous, I've got a lovely rose but it's quite small, so have only one leaf propagating atm.
Look forward to the next vlog
I waited three months to be able to pluck 5 leaves and I'm glad they've all taken. Hope yours give you lots of babies.
Hi, Liz. I have all these plants, ghost plants, derenbergii, Titubans, and lovely rose but didn't know how they are related! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. always excited to learn from you :)
You're welcome and I'm just happy to share. Thanks for watching.
Oh wow liz! Well done that looks gorgeous 💖👑💖
If I tried this it wouldn't be anywhere near as beautiful as that
Thanks again succulents Queen 👑
Thoroughly enjoyed this video! Great tips and beautiful plants!!! Perfection. 👌
Ang dami ko natutunan sa inyo 😍
On my wish list 🥰🥰
This was inspiring, and I ran outside to pull some bottom leaves from my first Lovely Rose (I have a few more, but they're babies).
After she plucked the leaves and said “SO CUTE” at 4:54 , my mind was like “oh it’s naked now” 😄 adorable plants🥰😍
The leaves growing are getting bigger now so it's worth the nakedness....LOL Thanks for watching Twisha.
Love this video! Much to learn in propagating succulents and I really want to try these lovely roses. Thank you!
Oh wow Liz, thank you for all the info!! I nearly bought one of these last week and then I chickened out because I didn't want to kill it lol.
Also, with yours - I would have been tempted to cut the stem to make them less wobbly and more stable.
I have been so slack with my plants I need to get back to them.
I wouldn't cut the stems on this ones YET as there's some babies growing on it as well...
I am watching this video few time but still enjoyed it. Thanhk you so much LizK :D
WoW !good very nice
I love this
hi liz, i always enjoy watching your video😊😍.. stress reliever.. thanks for sharing
Hi Liz! Im a fan!! All your succulents are sweet and yummy.!! lol.. Love the variegated ones.. I am becoming to be addicted to succulents ..
i love you art...
lovely...
Доброго дня🌷ну красота необыкновенная,слов нет👍
Hi Liz, interesting to know how Lovely Rose come to form. Thanks you again for a great video. 🥰😘
I brought mine from Succulents Australia during winter and had it for about 3 to 4 months before losing its to rot. Was able to save 5 leaves and now they all tiny little babies. They are so cute and looks just like a rose. I love it so much.❤
I really can't wait for them to get as big as your so can propagate more. 🥰😘
Done this video 2 days ago and the ones in the container with no roots have now grown some roots. Sooo quick. Can't believe it. Putting them under a grow light or a led lamp will also speed up growth.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK I don't have glow light. Have no where to put it in the house and I don't think hubby will be happy for me to get one. Already spending too much on my succulents 😬
@@Lisa-zi8dj Even a $12 LED Table lamp from Bunnings will do.
Nice video beautifull plant 🌷🌷🌷
Just subscribed to this channel and love all the tips!
Thanks for watching and subscribing. Hope you'll find my videos useful.
Nice to meet you, my name is Hironobu. I enjoy succulents in Japan. Lovely rose is cute.
Ohh thanks for the info Liz! Now I know the parentage of lovely rose! I did not know it was a hybrid.. I have 2 of those and they are producing babies!! I wish I could gift you some but you’re so faar! Hehehe ❤️
Thanks Anne, Very kind of you. They look absolutely glorious in a cluster. The thicker the better.
Lovely Rose (succulent plant) is a very popular succulent plant in Korea. I'm also raising a few now.
Your lovely rose is so beautiful.
Although Lovely Rose is a succulent plant that reproduces well with leaves, it is one of the succulent plants that is still priceless because of its popularity.
It looks a lot like Harry Watson (succulent plant).
There are a lot of insects in Lovely Rose. Come to think of it, I think there were a lot of millibugs in my Lovely Rose last year.
I didn't know that Lovely Rose was a succulent plant made in Korea. The owner of the farm I sometimes go to said that the distribution name for Lovely Rose was named because it was a succulent plant made in Korea.
Korean succulent plant enthusiasts are also trying to breed with the leaves of Lovely Rose. And me too~
It's a very beautiful plant. Thanks to the Korean breeder who made this possible. It looks similar to Harry Watson except Lovely Rose has more rounder leaves and Harry Watson more pointy leaves.
I have been window shopping online and I keep putting this plant in my shopping cart and I never buy it. But I have a connection in California that when I really want a special plant all I do is ask her and she gets really top quality plants for me so I asked her to find me a beautiful lovely rose. The ones I see online aren't as pretty as they should be so I'm going to wait for her to tell me she found me one ❤️
And here we go again with us being telepathically connected, I have just recently started breaking up my granite into small small pieces as well! Liz I just cannot believe how cosmically connected we are 😉 I swear to you in the past two weeks I just started doing that. So I have my granite and decomposed granite for my soil mix and two different size granite for my top dressing I also started separating it into red granite and the lighter beige colors!!! ( I have three and four pound containers of it packaged up so when customers come to buy plants this summer I'll have top dressings for sale) needless to say I have been pretty busy smashing boulders in my garage this winter LOL 😆
WOW look at you. Sounds like your going to "Set the world on fire". It's really worth getting and the sooner you have it, the sooner you can grow and propagate fast. There's also the time needed to prettify them. The older they get, the more beautiful they become.
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK which is also why I haven't bought them online because they're just so small and tiny and with the weather as cold as it is here they wouldn't fare well in the mail. So I asked her to see if she can get me a more mature one!! I really didn't even know that they grow so fast and are so easily propagated which to me is just an added bonus
Rose for Valentine's
For next valentines I need 12 for each month of the year. 12 lovely rose clusters...🙏
Hi. New subscriber from the Philippines. Love your videos, so refreshing and very informative. I enjoyed watching them😍😍😍.
Hi, LizK, I love this lovely rose very much, I am in Melbourne.
By the way , your ghost plant looks so wonderful!!! I want mine to get that awesome too . I have 4 different species of ghost plant. They get so full with beheading . Yours are very inspirational to behead more 😊
I love long stems and trying to grow my succulents into little trees(bonsai look). One can easily grow low thick succulents but it takes a looong time to grow legs.
MEALLY BUGG!!
Pests are the worst but I love how many times you say it. 🤣
Just ordered one and you uploaded this video.... So very helpful!!! By the way, I thought I only have Mealybug problems time to time coz am not a very capable plant mom!!! If a devoted person like you can get them... Then I guess I shouldn't feel guilty about it....
The only way to not get mealy bug is if you use a very nasty spray that's already ban from Australia. I won't mention the name but plants I bought from people who use this.... I have found dead bees on them. Also, if the plants are left dry for sometime, they tend to attract more mealy bug.
wow nice video 🌱🌱
You are very knowledgeable.
"Monstrous succulent " Hahahaha. U r so good at everything.
And u r just killing mealy bugs but m watching happily. Forgot why I came here also. 😃😃😃
So glad for your video. Got a tiny rose without roots. Bought online three weeks ago. Planted it after drying it. Growth is slow. Didn't know how to care for it. Thanks for video!
They prefer warmer humid temperature. They tend to go dormant and slow growing when the weather is on the cooler side.
Got it! Will place under grow light. Was rainy last few days. Btw, I tried using seaweed solution n took risk n soak them overnight. Some plump up beautiful n found roots amazingly grown after a day, tiny one. Those with roots, start to look wonderful. But today I learned that akamada would cause root rot as it will go soft n true enough, I dug out all the pot n they were mushy. Change soil n add diluted seaweed n hope they be ok. Been disturbing them quite a lot lately cos not sure why all became soft suddenly. Only reason I can think of was, left them under the sun longer than usual because they seem to strive. But I think got sunburn. Lesson learned from your video, soak them in seaweed. N NEVER USE akadama. Thank once again!!
@@GrowingSucculentswithLizK do you sell and shipped to California?? I would like to have one😌
Thank you for your share of the different succulents. Wow. So hard to pronounce 😀
Thumps up.
I just killed one lovely rose yesterday 😌 gonna put it more care in taking care of it
How did you kill it if you dont mind me asking? I want to avoid pitfalls 🤗
I'm a new subscriber I want to learn more about succulents, I like your videos
Greeting from Canada 🙋🏼🇨🇦
You have some incredible lovely rose plants! Wow ! I just beheaded a couple and was surprised how quickly it rooted and it looks even healthier with the shorter stem . I hope I get stem babies. You’re much less stressed about Mealybugs than I am . I get so upset seeing them ! Now I have microscopic Mealybugs on about 1/3 of my 250 succulents. I despise them . The only thing that Mealybugs do well is cause cresting sometimes. Wish I knew what species my Mealybugs are . They’re TINY ! They look like white dust until I look under my usb scope . They came from some Korean imports I got . They’re definitely not the typical species. Wow ! I must propagate more lovely rose 🥰
Cases like these makes me appreciate the "Strict" Quarantine Laws we have here in Australia. Thanks for watching and take it easy on those mealy bugs...LOL
Omg I learned something. I can't believe that G. Lovely Rose is a monstrose form of Titubans. Here in PH, Lovely Rose is super hard to keep it alive especially on low land. The hybrid ones are easy to care though.
It's all in the soil mix. Maybe a dash of ZEOLITE as in my Topical soil mix might help. I specially formulated that soil mix to suit humid growing places or low lands.
I want to have ghost succulent. Thanks for the info 👍. Happiness in leaf 🍃 vlog
I think that’s the kind of succulent for me, impatient! Thanks for the interesting background info, I mean, a trauma or a bacteria could change the entire form of a succulent, which came out to be beneficial. I read also that a virus can do the same. I forgot the name of the plant. This succulent is gorgeous. I have to have one ,if I can find it or I may have to order it on line. Thanks again! BTW, this is only my opinion. You have funny one liners sometimes that make me laugh. “...don’t bug me mealy bug “.
A lot of plants like crested or variegated are due to pathogens as well. That's why I sometimes love mealy bug...LOL
hello...po i have also lovely rose super bilis talaga nyang i propagate ang so lovely... thanks for more tips... Godbless
very good~^^
Merci pour cette belle plante…que j ai chez moi…..je vais suivre vos conseils..🌸😘pour les cochenilles j utilise de l’eau oxygénée mélangé à de l’eau ..

I love both arrangements, so clever! 👏
Still take a while Siew Lean but if you can wait, I'm sure I'll manage to put aside one for you.

Hi Lizk why don't you send me some of those beautiful succulents .They would do well in Jamaica. Love your succulents continue to share.
Your voice in the video is so calming Liz. I enjoyed watching you pot up that lovely arrangement. I also enjoyed learning about the hybrids at the start, it’s great to have you impart your knowledge with us. Thank you for another excellent video.😘
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching Gorgeous.

Spray the mealy bugs with rubbing alcohol and a few drops of dawn dish soap, I use half a cup of rubbing alcohol, 4 drops of dawn, and 2 cups of water. Put in a spray bottle and soak all affected areas with the mixture, problem solved!!
