    I 100% understand what you mean by the niqab being a barrier that prevents you from doing things you know you shouldn't do. I don't wear the niqab but the headscarf has the same effect with me. I feel like when I tell people this they don't understand that I mean😂 So when you mentioned it I was like "so I'm not the only one 😅" I feel like if I didn't observe hijab, I'd easily blend into gatherings that aren't "halal" whereas because I'm wearing the hijab I have this feeling of "I feel odd thinking about being there, or doing that with my hijab on" So that feeling of "shame" or "guilt" is probably a way of telling me that this is wrong. Although I most likely know that thing is wrong, but the hijab makes it way easier for me to stay away from being in that place or doing that thing.

    AllahumaBarik i'A you continue to get guided sisters. This was a very interesting video, don't see many niqabis speak their thoughts although I know a few. In terms of the job situation; as we're taught, with hardship comes ease so do take that into consideration & don't compromise straight away just for the sake of money or the dunya if there's an opportunity not as great but gives you the freedom you should take that and i'A Allah will reward you accordingly. As a young brother myself I'm growing out my beard and occasionally wear thobe, went out like that in west end recently and I understood the difference between people, you have the sheep who disliked me for how I looked or were afraid of me because of it just based off of what they've been subconsciously programmed to believe, and then you have the genuine people who want to increase their knowledge on why we dress a certain way etc and alhamdulillah most of the times they actually agree that it's a good way to repel things like evil eye, people looking at you in a "sexual manner" etc and that little form of dawah I guess you could call it can change someone's life from what I've seen (:

      Cherry bla -Assalamualaikum wah rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. ❤ Hope you’re great. Honestly, leave the people. You were created by Allah S.W.T to please the Creator not His creations. So just strive and go for it. Wear the niqab to please your Lord because in the end you’re only answerable to Him not the World. The temporary world that is going to finish but deeds that will help you not the worldly pleasures which are going to end. Let people do the talking, at least your Lord is pleased with you and if He is pleased with you, you legit have everything with you because the Almighty is with you. So go ukhti, slay it! All the best ❤️

    Assalamualaykum! Habiba I can relate to you on so many levels, JazakAllahu Khairan for sharing your life perspective,
    just something you might not have considered, you going to uni acts as a beacon to reassure other girls who may want to wear niqab but are apprehensive. alhamdulillah in my experience (not too long ago!) I was able to get at least one other girl from my community to start at uni in her niqab because I could reassure her with my experience.
    To be honest, I felt the way you do about my niqab when I graduated, I thought I'd have to take it off, but was reluctant to do so, but Alhamdulillah Allah opened up opportunities for me that I never would have thought of, Trust in Him, He is Ar-Razzaq, don't sacrifice your good actions that are sincerely for Him, in trying to attain anything dunyawi. That's my tuppence anyway, I feel strongly about it, dunno if it'll make sense to you!

    Thank you for this informative video I enjoyed watching it
    most people don't make videos about niqab and it's one of the most misunderstood things in Islam.
    I just want to clarify something for you
    First of all I'm from Saudi and I'm a niqabi teen who I chose to wear it I know there are some Saudi girls who were forced to but I'm not
    So what I wanted to say is that maybe you guys think that niqab and hijab are a must in Saudi (by the government) but it's actually not, it's only in almasjed alharam in Macca and Madina where you should wear hijab/headscarf
    For the rest of Saudi there is no rule that says you have to wear hijab I always see Eastern women here who don't even wear abaya and no one says anything to them but some people like to wear hijab when they come so they won't be odd
    Maybe it is a must in some families/parents but it's not an official rule (in the *past* there were a rule that tells to wear abaya but not hijab or niqab)
    Edit: omg I just realized I talk way too much😂😂so sorry for that

      khowla essa ok, im muslim and i love saudi arabia, dont get me wrong. But its a lie that saudi arabia doesnt force women to wear the niqab. There are places that its obligatory the niqab on all women, muslim or not. Like the whole qasim province. So yea, even if its not in the whole country, saudi arabia still forces women to wear the niqab. Buuut i dont feel like its a bad thing. To me, niqab is sunnah and a part of the culture. And in areas like qasim its obligatory bc its culture, everyone wears it bc its normal, like jeans for weastern ppl.

  • @capt_zo
    @capt_zo Před 6 lety +2

    I like wearing the hijab as a non Muslim, but I also do not believe revealing yourself is fulfilling anyone's desire. I think women should have the freedom to dress as they please, whether that be a tight mini dress or a niqab! Revealing yourself is not consent for harassment or making you oppression, and veiling yourself does not mean your are submission nor consent to harass. We should not be ashamed to dress as we want, and we all have different reasons for doing so. So let's not generalize, instead, let's support and empower each other.

But seeing her view and perspective on wearing a niqab is actually quite interesting and she seems really happy to do it especially how she always reminds people she's doing it for the the sake of god and for the sake of herself from protection from other man. This truly gives is muslim girls a sense of how good it feels to actually cover fully and what not. Really loved her view of how it really feels to be a niqabi.

    As a Christian woman, it puzzles myself as to why niqab would be banned in France, or anywhere else. That's just ridiculous. I could wear a bikini and someone else does not have the freedom to be more modest? I had never thought about the freedom in feeling judged for who you are vs how you look. I think being true to yourself and your beliefs is a human right. I truly think that the only way to combat fear is for people to befriend people from all different backgrounds.

    • @samuelvimes7686
      @samuelvimes7686 Před 6 lety

      A niqab in a free western society is about as modest as putting a red flashlight on your head. The social and cultural norms in France are to show your face so running around like an ISIS sympathiser is downright offensive.
      Speaking about freedom of religion and human rights, look at countries where the niqab is mainstream and the lack of both

    • @purplecosmos5431
      @purplecosmos5431 Před 5 lety +7

      In some places they can go to women-only pools and wear whatever. Personally although I can't swim, we drive to the river and if no one's there we can uncover and go in and play. Obviously we'd suffocate if we wore a niqab swimming XD...

    • @gokrill
      @gokrill Před 5 lety +9

      You can't wear whatever around other women. Women have an awrah around other women which is navel to knees which means you can't wear the western bikini you see on tv since that only covers the immediate private part. even the swimming shorts some girls wear doesn't cover nearly enough of the female to female awrah. Muslimah basically have to wear muslim men's swimming trunks as a minimum 👀. And it's recommended not to uncover too much around non muslim women because they don't have the same beliefs as us and might not fear Allah the way we do or respect and have the decency to not describe the body of the muslimah to men. At least that's something I have read/heard. To each their own. 👍

    • @purplecosmos5431
      @purplecosmos5431 Před 5 lety +4

      Of course you're right. I wasn't thinking about that in terms of swimwear- thanks for your corrections. No Muslim woman should wear a bikini in any case or even a one piece since you might as well be naked. I meant in terms of clothing like leggings and t-shirt or a skirt or something like that, following the rules of awrah, but not hijab. You are absolutely right; what seemed obvious to me might not be to other people; insha' Allah no one will take it the wrong way?

    • @gokrill

      but yeah there might be non muslims that read the comments or some muslims that just don't know any better. Sometimes it's better to be more detailed and descriptive in one's answer. 🤷 idk maybe im the only one that took it the wrong way 😩

    It was interesting to hear your thoughts on women who don't cover themselves as much as you guys do-- although, it did make me a little uncomfortable to hear women like myself called "naked." I think that it is really, really important to understand that although some women dress that way for male validation, others don't. Just like some muslims dress a certain way because of external pressures, while others do it for themselves. Judging women for what they wear, how little or how much, isn't a good idea because THAT is what really oppresses women.

      It is considered naked to us. It harms society both women and men. We obey God not ourselves.

      There is also a scary hadith about the women who dress but are still naked, they will not enter nor smell heaven.
