All good bro! Went out of Jupiter today. 9 hours of trolling everything along a weed line at the Gulf Stream…nada. Naked hoos, skirted hoos, weighted hoos, dredges, daisy chains, feathers in just about every color. Just a long boat ride. Was a nice day though 🤷♂️
Nothing is waisted on a fishing trip unless you refuse to learn.
Love this!
Very true
That’s true I’ve gone out done everything wrong u have to or u think it’s wrong at the time after the fact the plan is do better little things matter
Real
So, then you don't mind share all your numbers? I hate to waste any fish bring them up from the deep during closures. I'm more than happy to learn fruitful fishing grounds coordinates.
Before you toss a reel or two that has failed on you, if I could pay you to ship it to me, I could take a crack at repairing it. I have the technical ability and tools to fix/replace the motors and replace electronic components. This is the only way I could ever afford to have one on my disability income. I would love to be able to try deep drop fishing.
Even though your catch was limited, it looked like a great day on the water in the Keys. Life is good for the Key West Waterman...
With great respect for your fishing etiquette... Joe
If you can find a Tanacom 1000 IC board let me know.
Aaron, huge fan here and never too late to do things differently. I became disenchanted selling my speared fish 25 years ago and I was making more money out of that than my day job. Once I changed tack and gave away fish to those who enjoyed it I recaptured my enthusiasm for my sport. Obviously I shot less fish as well. Cheers from QLD Australia 🇦🇺
couldn't agree more! you gotta follow you heart and go with what makes you happy. thanks so much for watching
Commercial guys feed all of us 💯 Thank you for your hard work fishing and creating content we love ❤️
No such thing as wasted time on the water. Awesome videos for this Canadian. Btw I priced electric reels…some of them require me to remortgage my house , so I’ll just enjoy watching you instead. Thanks Aaron
Bummer on the slow day, but thanks for posting your thoughts while you fish. It is always fun to watch your trips.
Been watching your content for a while. It's become a comfort getting home, and seeing that you dropped a new video. It's always relatable because I love to go out there alone. I know you can't give away too much of your operation, but you have a fraction of your fanbase that are still learning. And we appreciate what may seem like over-explaining to some. Personally, even some of the basics can be helpful.. Keep the videos coming, and congratulations on getting hitched.
Still watching the video, but already excited as soon as I saw those fishing poles. Love all your diving, but this kind of fishing I could really do myself soon.
Really good information as usual 👌 We have been watching you for about two years now and always learn something new.
Your brain and bleed method is so humane and we use it too. It also helps the fish to taste so good. ❤
Interesting perspective Aaron. Not the most exciting fishing, but a beautiful day on the water. I enjoy that you always try to accentuate the postives. Very blessed for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Aaron, as I have been watching for a while now and don’t really know how all this “techno” stuff works, I wanted to comment on a previous video as I don’t know if you look back. On your “dock talk” where you interview other charter captains you speak with one other captain at a time. It occurred to me, that it would be fun to have more than one captain with you in your interview. I’m thinking that bringing a couple others would change the conversation and add much more valuable information to the conversation. Also, it may be a bit easier on you as the discussion would go ‘wherever” and you could pretty much direct it in the direction you choose…kinda of like herding cats. Just a thought but love all that you do. Keep it up. You are truly special in what you do and the way you deliver it. Thanks for listening.
Great content as always Aaron, glad to see you still getting out there. Great to give multiple perspectives of fishing. I'm glad I had the opportunity to see your ride before heading out on yankee capt a few years ago.
The issue with submarine is they tend to fill up with water when you open the window to cast your rod
Lol
Great video! We do our deep dropping in out of Indian River DE. It's a couple hour run. Some days fish have lock-jaw. Thanks for posting.
I enjoyed listening to your commentary and explaining your process… never been deep dropping but will one day!
Hi there, just came across your YT channel. Love your content in all the videos. You give good information, create relaxation and great views of the back country while on the water….. all in moderation.👍
Excellent day! You made it home. Your show makes Monday good.
I love how real and natural the videos are. Thank you for sharing
thats what I'm going for! thanks for tuning in
I used to get my snowy grouper and a couple different snapper in a little over 300 ft off Stuart. I miss my fishing.
Deep dropping is a new world to me. Never tried it. I don't think I've fished on the bottom in more than 200'. In Costa Rica I did probably get some baits that deep a few times catching Pacific snapper. Usually it wasn't that deep. My local friends used hand lines and we caught piles of fish for them to sell. I kept a couple for dinner and gave them the rest for taking me.
You might want to think about keeping a jigging rod ready for fish suspemded off the bottom. I'd need a rod with a popper too to try while waiting for deeper bites.
You always surprise us with mixed up content and I really appreciate it. It's very impressive, you don't get in a rut. Cool.
This is the first of your videos I've watched and I indeed liked it AND learned a bit about the challenges of commercial deep dropping. I appreciated you going through some of the basics for a recreational, freshwater fisherman like myself. I'm about to check out some of your other videos as well. Your calm demeanor and clear explanations earned you a new subscriber!
Aaron is awesome to watch. This video was nothing compared to what he usually does. I hope you enjoy him. He’s an amazing teacher and a fun down to earth guy!!
@@user-br5te8eg5i Yes for sure he is! I went and looked at another deep drop video, an early one of his where he absolutely crushed it!! Fun stuff
Nice video . Eagerly awaiting the fishing to start ramping up here in New England
Thanks for sharing, Aaron!
Always love your videos Sir. Really miss fishing with you. We all learned something from you on every trip. We all cherish those trips Sir.😊
Thank you as you always share the TRUTH about fishing in general including Rec and Commercial and we have good days and bad. Reality pops the social media illusion of never-ending success.
I'll agree that it is getting harder to find the fish and of less quantity over the last decade plus. I'm over on the west coast of FL and we are finally having a decent kingfish run this year for whatever reason. It's still a grind and we do it because we love it!
Thanks for what YOU do!
That was interesting! I didn't know about this type of fishing! I learned something new today! Thank you!
Your honesty is refreshing.
Great video! Really enjoyed watching deep dropping, catching tile fish !
Thx dude for those amazing videos and amazing spirit through your explanations and your passion. Sorry for my bad english. Best regards from french West indies ( Guadeloupe)
Aaron, it would be a good idea to point out the razor sharp tip of the gill plate on tile fish. Both species have this. A rookie can easily get a very severe cut not knowing about it. Get yourself a electric trolling motor with spot lock! you will triple your catch. Find good numbers and never share them with anybody. That's how to make $$$ deep droping!
Learning to love myself and not being able be loved is a great Approach to life and I think Applying for a degree in Applying for an internship or a masters in the same position is one 1️⃣ of
I remember fishing in 400-600' on party boats as a teenager in Cali. 3-6lb. weights. Fun but what a workout! I couldn't have afforded an electric reel but man, I would have loved one.
Great video! Thanks for making it!
love the video! dont listen to the negative comments and dont feel the need to answer every one, keep doing you
Good to see you on the boat Capt. keep them coming. Glad the channel is filling the gaps.
Are you usually fishing the inshore side of the current?
Thanks for posting this!
Apparently I am the one that Approved for this one because it is the only thing Approved to me and my husband is the same one as Approving of this so we have the right thing for him so we are all in good 😊 and yes 👍 thank goodness 😅 Appreciate it so very much and thank goodness I have been able and am grateful to be a Approving member of 18:47
Aaron, thank you for keeping it real!
Refuse to let the other refuse to accept the truth and accept the fact they don’t have to be a victim of the same way they did in their past lives or the same thing that they have now done in the last two decades of life for their children to have the right of the law to live and be happy and healthy be
Loved your "sharing an opinion no one asked for". Well said, and great important points and info. Carry on....as you were.
I enjoy all your videos an no matter what a bad day of fishing is always a good day thanks again captin
I would not do that a lot either bro. Thanks again for taking me out.
Great video, I was just down there, we did some deep drops off key west. Didn’t do too good, three blue lines and about 10 yellow hinds or whatever those were. They ate really good, like small groupers 1-4lbs
I caught a few of those on a slow day on a charter. It was a cool experience, just a little weird after watching blue marlin swat baits a few hours earlier.
We hit them good late morning though.
Love your videos man me and my dad go to the keys in lobster season ans we go and catch them it so much fun
Tuff day in a beautiful office. It’s all good still fun to watch. May be i spoke to soon third tile in the well.
Thanks 😊
Thank you for keeping shit real 💪🏽
you ever use chum bag on top clip with thee light? We use in hawaii for deep drop seems to help more!! We got 7 main deep fish here no tile fish thou.
waistband is an excellent option for beginners and intermediate runners who have never 👎 had trouble 😈 If your training has any problems you may try a few more to and waistband is the one thing that makes me want a good pair of socks for my waistband is the socks that are a good 😊 Also if waistband is the most versatile and versatile shoe ever and I think you can find waiters who are really comfortable in the shoe and 👟
Fishing 🎣 in my backyard with my dog is so much better now I can get a little more comfortable and get a bit more of
Thanks for sharing. I found it quite interesting. Out on the water, a fish now and then..... Living the Life.
Thank for all the great vids
Awsome vid not all about bells and wissles hey . Glad you keeping it real . No waist there . ❤
One of the only channels that I hit the LIKE Button before I watch the video. I know that it will be a good one 👍😁☝️🙏 Viva Cristo Rey
That’s wild how deep you’re fishing for tiles down there in NC 270-300 is the magic number and you mentioned it was rocky too? Also much different than up here they love the mud the muddier the better the fishing. I didn’t realize they varied so greatly in depth and home conditions
Nice when someone puts the not so good days ..brings into light that not everyday is just rainbows and sunshine. Keep up great videos. And heres idea. For people that will never make it to the keys. Maybe you and your honey and make a keys video showing us the highlights of the keys you guys like. Just thought.
Love all you do Aaron. Can’t wait for Monday evening.
Just curious. What are the reasons for choosing to fish the Atlantic over the gulf side? Familiarity/knowledge, convenience, habitat, regulations, etc… or a combination of reasons. I grew up on Anna Maria & spent all my time around the islands & offshore between Tampa Bay & Sanibel/Boca Grande so I’m not familiar with the Keys.
Thx for sharing.
for deep dropping you have to run 100+ miles in the gulf, Atlantic drops off much faster!
Very informative video Aaron
Honestly man, I'm just happy to see the realism in not blowing out every day. Makes me happy knowing everyone has slow days like me. Keep crushing the vids and tight lines 🎣
What were the deciding factors that led you to choose Mercury OBs when you repowered?
Thank you for keeping one of my favorite shows on air with great content.
Great video I haven't seen old blue Gabe on your channel in a while I know he likes tht deep dropping stuff all fishing is hit in miss thts why they call it fishing not catching.
can you go over what lure to use for each fish and why?
Best video yet. Thx for sharing some secrets.
you have to have tension on the line at all times and set with the power slide, sitting like that you dont feel anything and get eaten off...
Same issue with mine, its the speed controller, just take it to a dealer they fix them for like 80 bucks.
I'm watching fishing videos as I put the finishing touches on a 3 year boat project. Gotta have you're priorities straight!
ive noticed with me up in marathon deep dropping can be very tide dependent. spent a lot of time last year exploring and the minute tide would change every new spot we hit had fish. and before it would be dead.
I agree, the way the fishing rules are written it kills millions of tones of fish unless you can swap catches like commercials can at sea ... the fishing rules are written by commercial fishing companies
Dewy is the best one to ever do dewy in the world and the only dewy I have ever had was a dewy and I think it’s the best thing to do is try to keep the yeast in there and see if yeast
I'm sure it's been said many times over?? The Bob Ross of fishing, Aaron Young!
Nothing wasted…I stayed in key west this week because of your content and probably ate that grouper at Hogfish restaurant. Your fish and videos supports the economy.
Thanks
New fan here in Vegas. Love the Camera on a gimble...Awesome shows. Who makes your Glasses?
Welcome to the channel! 🙏🏻 Bajios are the glasses
If you have any contractor friends that sometime remodel old houses the old window sash weights work great and come in a bunch of different sizes and they just give them away. They work great for day time swords. It just fishing, better to be on the water.
yea I actually have a few of those! alot of the commercial guys use them.
Well now its impossible to go out when everything is open because golden tilefish are already closed before bluelines and snowys even opened lol, main deep drop fish by me and now my tanacom is just gonna collect dust this year as they closed before I had a good weather window I could fish
Yea i heard about that. Again doesn’t make much sense, especially when the regs are blanketed across such a large area. Needs to be broken down into regions.
I agree with your timing. Seems the bite happens between 9:30-11AM. Been out many a morning and had to wait until mid morning for a bite. Normally limit out between 9-11. Then time to go home.
***maybe team up with Bama Saltwater???
I went trout fishing for 7 hrs today and didn't catch a thing. It was a beautiful day at least.
Curious what model grundens you're wearing? They seem to be cut lower on the back side.
Hey Aaron, have you ever thought of starting a line that competes with Grundens gear?
Seems like a legit business idea to me. They definitely hold the top spot in waders, etc.
Worth a few beers and thoughts, IMO.
Keep up the great work bro !
its such a saturated market, if I had millions of subs perhaps but its not easy task.
Awesome video...Thanks as always...Anyone that thinks your "waste something" hasn't watched you very much...
I finally got nice enough weather to get my boat out this last weekend, caught about 30 rainbow trout on a mountain lake. Thanks for getting me through the winter!
where on earth is 30 trout not exceeding a limit
@@victorlopez3665 where on earth did I say I kept them all?
@@chubbrock659 oh youre one of those guys....yeah i cant relate i dont harm fish for fun just for eating
@@victorlopez3665 “one of those guys”. You mean someone who catches and releases? Like millions of other people in the world? I guess you’re just special aren’t you 😂
Keeping it real. Cool video.
Hey Dibbs, when was this vid shot? I ask because I thought the wind had been blowing like crazy down there.
What vms are you using? Do you own you own catch shares? My boat is not wired for the reels yet. Looking to buy some electrics soon. Do some guys just lug a battery and use alligator clips?
Always great videos! Whatever style of fishing with the keywest waterman! The learning and great experience Chanel! Of a variety of fishing 🎣 5 stars 🌟 my guy!
Hey. What rod were you using on the beast master?
Tilefish is the best fish in town and it’s a good thing that you don’t have to worry too and it’s not like you can’t get a fish in here because it’s a fish in the ocean tilefish is the best place to eat it and it’s a good fish in there and I think it has the most beautiful thing tropical 13:07
Are the Tile fish normally singles or can u leave it ok on the hook and extra min or so and see if another one joins the party?
The first time I was in a meeting I did not get a call from the school because I’d be on my way did not have my diploma in my class so I had to wait until the end didn’t have to wait for a call from the teacher and I had my first meeting with my the 26:09
BEAUTIFUL SCENERY, GREAT AIR, RELAXING WHAT MORE COULD ONE ASK ???!!!~~~~ CATCHING THE FISH IS BONUS .....
Not when you have to pay bills....
I appreciate how you kept this video on the real. Enjoy….
In high school we would fish yellowfin and sell it to local high end restaurants. I made huge money during season when I was allowed 3 yellowfin a day. As a Native American here in Canada, my treaty rights let me make a living off the land and sea.
After I got out of the army I used all the money I saved to start fishing charters. That was much more profitable.
What model Grundens are your bibs?
Persistence pays off!
2.5 weeks and its game on, another great video
Aaron quick question I’ve been looking everywhere for the honey comb top for my yeti but i cannot find it. Do you know where i can get it ?
I got mine at west marine
@@KeyWestWaterman thanks I’ll go check them out.
Wish you the best of luck I know it’s not what you was expecting but at at least you are trying you’re putting in the hours knowledge is power I live in Central Florida I’ve been falling you for a very long time and my wife was raised in Key West she has been wanting to go back down over there and make a trip and since I love fishing so much I was always interested in the fishing down there hopefully this will be the year that I will take my wife Down there I hope that I could meet you in person just to meet you thank you for all your content
It's real, some days can be good, some days can be awesome.
Great video
How do you "Hold" your boat over a Fish Mark? PinPoint GPS motor control... or similar?
just motor the boat in reverse, but depends on the spot alot of time you wanna cover ground.
