Hi Dave, Thanks for sharing this video. After set up based on your video in manual mode every thing is OK. But in Stabilize mode when the noes going down and up, the tail surface instead of going up and down, one goes down and one goes up!
Excellent Tutorial Dave, Thanks....very well done.....I did initially set my MT up for Vee Tail mix but not sure I did it exactly like this. Eventually went the simple route with a Y Lead on the Elevators. I may come back and try this in due course though. Are you going to put all these APM Tutorials in their own Video Library so we can all find them again 6 months from now..?
I think what I will do is rename them to identify them as APM related then make a playlist for them called Ardupilot APM Tutorials. How does that sound?
hi.. why if i move stick (rudder/elev) on remote in FBWA mode, the rudder/elev on plane is move but only 1 side (left/right servo, not both), but in manual mode is normal, and in fbwa mode if i move the plane right, left, nose up and down is normal too. please help me. thanks
How do I get this off rudder mix on inav f35 lightening FC. With inav. ??????? I don’t get any deflection in stabilizer modes on inav 2.0 and I have set it up with mixer in inav 2.0 mixer tab as mini talon but don’t have this deflection
Great videos, been able to retro my mini talon from a cc3d atom to a 2.6 apm with your help. Seems to fly well in stab mode, rtl is working great along with loiter. cruise is the one I'm having issues with, seems to start baking to the left when executed. have any ideas? also any pid adjustments?
By cruise do you mean Fly-By-Wire-B? Perhaps there is not enough speed set and the torque roll is causing it to bank. Watch your speed and see if it drops when you go into FBWB.
I saw your video but I have a question about it is it correct that both aleron that are the flaps on the wings if I am right going down and up at the same time ?
The ailerons on the wings should not go up and down together. This should only happen on the tail. Use a Y-splitter from APM channel 1 for the wing servos to make sure they only go in opposite directions.
Hello. I just tried installing a F4 Omnibus v3 in my NANO Talon and that went over like a lead balloon. I’m not a fan of inav at all! So now I’m think of added my 3DR mini pixhawk to the NT. Would these settings help me in my setup? The Nano Talon is the little brother of this vtail.
Mister Dmer I have been following your vtail movie but now my elerons are moving opposite from iegh other by using a y harness as you say overhere what must u do reverse the servo internal or buy a y harness with a reverse inside ? thank you for your help and with kind regards Dinant from the Netherlands
Try another set of servos first.You reverse a servo internally by switching the two motor wires and the two outter potetiometer wires. czcams.com/video/4n1ec2w21pA/video.html

dmerc00 by the way I have a another question I wonna put 2 leds on the outside of the plane which are connected with the apm to so if there is a gps fix and if the motor is armed I bought leds wich I conect on the A6 and A7 connector wit the signal and ground cable but they don't work must I configurate something in the apm to get on these ports signal ? I have been looking the whole day what I have or can do but until now nothing found. It's handy to see on the outside which led blinks to see the status. I hope I am not a pain in the .... that I am asking so much 😆
Normally the ailerons on the wings will go different directions on a Y-cable unless the servos are not a match electronically. In other words the servos are actually going the same direction but since one is flipped over from the other the linkage will cause the control surfaces to go opposite directions.
At 3:35 in your video , you show making changes to VTAIL_OUPUT . I do not have that option on my screen . Is there something I am missing ?

The firmware version might be different now so it may be called something else. Not sure.

The settings method in this video should work for the mini pixhawk too. The method is the same but the actual settings may vary a little.

I really have not tried that. Sounds like a good idea to add LEDs but I have no experience doing that on the APM.
