I find the mount "wiggles" a bit when mounted to the Ace Pro while riding a bicycle. There should be no wiggling...it should be a tight snug fit. It isn't..at least on my Ace Pro. (the plastic mount that comes with the camera DOESN'T wiggle..fits tight.
Nice review and thanks. I purchased this quick release mount for my new Ace Pro but quickly found a fault in it. It is an okay mount when using for static purposes that does not produce any vibrations but when I mounted it on my bicycle, it made terrible rattling noises. When mounted to the Ace Pro the connection is not snug enough and it causes the metal of the camera and the metal from the mount to vibrate against each other, resulting in unuseable sound for your footage. Insta 360 did include three silicone spacers that is supposed to lessen the impact of the hits, but when you install the spacers, the camera will not connect to the mount, because it then becomes too snug for the latches to close. I did contact 360 about this and I sent them a video of the intolerable noise that the mount makes when used for cycling. Their response was to use the silicone spacers. I responded to them by asking then if they have sucessfully installed a spacer and sucessfully connected the camera afterwards. Still waiiting on a response from that. Howerer, the supplied mount that ships with the camera is totally noise free, but I do not like using gopro style screws any longer and desire a better option. Do you have any suggestions?
I haven't tested the QR Mount on my bike yet - I also used the mount included in the Ace Pro package for my bike - although for me the quick release mount is quite a snug fit and can't be moved by hand. That doesn't mean it couldn't vibrate though - I'll have a test when we get a break in the weather and report back!
@@iftibashir I just wanted to circle back and correct my comment. After contacting 360 about the noise of the mount while cycling, they directed me to the supplied silicone pads and how to install the "mute" silicone pad to the mount. Turns out, you have to remove the original pad, that is actually the rubber backing of the mount, and then install the "mute" pad. It works well. Took only a couple of mintures, and the connection between the mount and the camera is very snug. Somehow I missed reading those instructions and maybe other people that cycle with this mount might be missing them too.
I just received mine today. I read if you remove the rubber spacer that the quick replace it with the spacer there is no rattling at all. I gotta admit I'm reluctant to try this, but it kinda makes sense. From what you described it might provide enough room to it to snap together smoothly?

This mount is not just limited to the action camera. It is worth noting that it will hold any camera securely. I am getting several more of these because they are a big time saver and will not let the camera loose unless you want to move it.
I mentioned this in the video, but yes I agree - they are great - very secure with any type of camera or accessory, and super quick to use. I have a couple, but they are also quite expensive so i will think twice before I purchase any more!
@@iftibashir I know, but how expensive is the camera that you put on this quick release? Do you want a cheap knock off quick release that will give way? These are rock solid and for me worth the extra $$. I have even used it with my Blackmagic Micro Mini Cinema Camera with great success. People have to realize that you are doing risky things with an Action Camera and not studio work.
I also use it with sony a6000. I use a light weiht lens and quick mount works perfect. It may be a standart mount.
I really don't the much difference between the standard mount and the quick release mount. do you? if so, how are they different?
@@dhkor2825 I thought the video explained that nicely. It gives me a quick attachment and release that is very secure rather than a manual setup that is time consuming.
This mount looks great but I'm not sure why Insta360 didn't make their GO 3 and GO 3S compatible with this mount system.
@@dk99 I agree. All should carry the same mounting system
Very Cool! 😎 Too bad there is not a standard magnetic mount.
Didn't they say these things are heavy as hell? is it true? or it's just the 3rd party ones from Aliexpress & Amazon that are.
just good for handheld. But not for motorcycle mount, vibrates excessively and makes annoying sound
Yes I can see how this would be an issue. For motorcycle us eteh most solid mounts Ive come across are by iShoxs - check out the reviews on my channel!
Good to know that was the use I was considering it for
@@blasimattim so mad at myself I decided to watch this video 2h after buying the camera for the exact same reason 🤨

Iftikhar Bhai, expensive bohot hay ye mount koi alternate hay iss mount ka ?
Are you sure you was completely honest in this review when you said "very little if any wiggle room" ? i got 2 of these QR mounts both has alot of play to them :O
Nah I also have two units and mine are pretty solid when used with my Ace Pro.
Change the pad to the other one in the box it’s a different design pad and it eliminates any wiggle you have to push the mount together harder
Nice video, thanks!
Could you write me the name of your Ace Pro handlebar mount? Grazie!
Hi! Nice, straight forward review here. I have a quick question- will this work on the GoPro Hero 12 with the media mod on? It’s quite a hassle to use change the the batterys inside with a Shorty mounted, thanks!
You would need an adapter to convert the finger mount to tripod adapter - you can then attach the quick release base plate to the adapter and use the quick release mount as shown in the video - so yes its do-able, just with an adapter in between ;o)
@@iftibashir the Shorty mount utilizes a finger mount sort of connection, so will it work without an adapter?😀
Perfect👍 Thanks
The mount that’s sold separately is $50 making it a big NO for me.
You don't have to buy it... there's a non magnetic one in the Ace Pro box.
@@estebanod The ones in the box are magnetic...
Great review. Just a quick question. Does the Insta360 ace pro has magnet in the camera, so you could attach it to any post at the gym or railings or similar. I'm not able to find the answer to this anywhere
No the camera would be too heavy to be held by a magnet in this way
@@iftibashir Ok thank you for letting me know
What's the point of the stickers thingies that are given in the box
If you have any play between the quick release mount and the base, the stickers can be used to fill the gap.
@@iftibashir ahh okay thank you
