If this is a review make it a review. Show Proof the Fall Detection system WORKS for you and the loved one you have as a contact. Will they get a GPS of where you fell? Or just a notice that you haven't moved for 4 mins. With No idea of where that occurred!!!! 🤔
I'm not a helmet review expert, and don't pretend to be one, I'm just a contented buyer and user. My aim is to let people know that it's out there as I'm still seeing lots of cyclists in Paris without helmets and without lights !! If you want the full review why not get in touch with the UNIT 1 marketing team ? I'm sure they'll be able to fill you in with all the technical details that you seek ?
Fall Detection message actually does include the location of the accident! Otherwise it would be worthless information 🤣 - oh and it is only triggered if the rider failed to respond to the safety check after the crash.
I have to agree with the other comments,about the fall protection system phoning a friend & you don't answer the phone.what do they do next,when you don't answer the questions they ask, like.... are you ok,where are you,have you phoned 999? I see your using an iphone ! But what about the issues surrounding Android app users? What's the feeling of losing part of the tracking app in favour of strava or others app ? Don't get wrong the hardware is outstanding & you can see that it's not cheap. But at the same time the app platform could do with investment,improvements & reliability in sync,stability of connectivity. It's a little expensive for 2 thirds hardware 1third app
Hi Richard, great input ! Personally, when I look back over the last 20 years I've never bought a helmet because it has a fall protection system on it. In fact, I've never had a serious fall. In cities, when you do have an accident there are usually people around anyway. It's a bit like insurance, something you pay for that you never use. I agree that the helmet's on the expensive side but I don't put a price on safety. It represents 10% of the price of my bike...I think it's well worth it...if anyone knows of a better helmet, please let me know.
