Greatness Has A Cost:
Kobe's retirement marked the end of an era, but his legacy continues to inspire. His relentless pursuit of perfection, even in the face of adversity, serves as a testament to the idea that greatness truly does have a cost. It's not just about the hours of practice or the physical toll it takes; it's about the mental fortitude to push beyond one's limits, to sacrifice immediate pleasures for long-term achievements, and to maintain an insatiable hunger for improvement.
This video, coming after Kobe's retirement and before his tragic passing, stands as a reminder of his impact not only on basketball but on the culture of success itself. It challenges us to ask ourselves what we're willing to give up in order to reach our highest potential. As Jaret Grossman eloquently puts it through the lens of Kobe's journey, the road to greatness isn't paved with ease but with the stones of hard work, resilience, and an unyielding drive to be better than yesterday.
In a world that often seeks instant gratification, this message is more important than ever. It's a call to embrace the process, to find joy in the grind, and to understand that every setback is a setup for a comeback. Kobe's story encourages us to rise above our circumstances, to set lofty goals, and to put in the work required to achieve them.
As we reflect on this video and the lessons it imparts, let's honor Kobe's memory by committing to our own paths of greatness, whatever they may be. Let's remember that while the cost may be high, the reward of fulfilling our true potential is priceless. 🏀💜💛
I can't believe he passed away, one of the greatest minds of all time.
Somewhere up there he and his daughter are dropping 50 point games with God
Chispa Motivation truely is
no one is guaranteed a life expectancy. kobe lived a life of a 1 percenter. 99% of this world lives like garbage especially in the 3rd world. cry me a river.
Truly !
💛💜💜💛
Kobe, if I ever make it big. I’m gonna thank you in front of the whole world for waking me up.
Sorry to break it to but that's not happening.. you'll be to excited to even think about someone that will be irrelevant by then
MR.Techroid ok fatass
Joey C stfu you negative fuck
When we make it big we will thank him
Kobe Bryant I was talking to the guy who was being negative
May this inspire people all over the world, even decades after your death. RIP
Even after thousands of years.
who's watching this after Kobe's death?
R.I.P Mamba
One of the greatest icons/ambassadors ever!
Mamba Out
Me😭😭😭😭😭😭
Me and shading tears
Joakim Søby Jepsen still numb.
Before
The fact that this guy is out of GOAT conversation is simply disrespectful
V. C.Sierra I don’t think he’s the goat but his name deserves to be up there
Jacob Moore That’s what “conversation” means
Aryan Bharadwaj no shit sherlock
Kobe is the 🐐
sup
I love that edit of Kobe's free throw routine through the years.
I loved the whole video. Kobe, Lakers, the NBA - I love it all.
Thanks I made it :)
Last one was Kobe hurt his left foot?sad...
Had to watch that twice when I saw it for the first time
No one will ever understand how Great he is!
To even question it is insane. He constantly won, proved everyone wrong, was robbed of an MVP or 2, and win 5 rings? The triangle doesn't work without a killer like Kobe. He played the same role in Phil's triangle, and won 5 rings... Pretty solid.
ItsOnLy DiRt now everyone is realizing, you never know what true greatness is until you don't have it anymore.
KadenYK that’s a fact!
My favorite clip was of him going at Jordan like he was his equal in his rookie year. He wasn’t star struck. He went for blood. That’s why Jordan respects him so much!
You have to remember, too, that at this point Jordan was still in his prime!!! Amazing!!!
Kobe feeds on the crumbs that fall from Jordan's table.. Finals MVPs.. Jordan 6. Kobe 2..
@@davidtrevino5211 k dont get why people get mad over a complement of someone in the Goat conversation, are u insecure or something?
@@chidinmaayaku2243 No I'm not actually. I just happen to believe that Jordan was a far superior player when it came down to crunch time. It's just my opinion, you're entitled to your's as well. Why does it bother you so much? Are you the one who's insecure?
@@davidtrevino5211 Jordan is better than Kobe, not "Far Superior", Jordan is Far Superior to Shooting guards like James Harden, Klay Thompson, DWade, Clyde Drexler, Reggie Miller etc. "Far Superior" is disrespectful to Kobe and simply not true. Kobe is better than every Shooting Guard, other than Michael Jordan.
The recent example I saw was ball vs Bron. He was clearly not starstruck & played like his routine game vs Lakers & Bron
Nice tribute to the great Kobe Bryant!
+Chispa Motivation Thanks. Love your videos!
+Chispa Motivation Love your videos too, love from México 🙌🏼
I'm sitting here crying in my living room, this man gave his entire heart. The joy, the strength you get from a mind, a spirit like his is something you can carry with you for a lifetime. I can't believe you're gone, rest up with your daughter up there. RIP
I once gave a fistbump to Kobe. I was shaking afterward. To me this man is a legend - not just in sport, but in humanity. The greatest thing I will take from him is the work ethic and the seriousness with which he took his obligations. RIP Mr. Bryant, you live on through the memory of others.
I met him in Vegas airport. I know what you mean. I was literally speechless
What a voice you have Jaret. Makes me feel as if Kobe himself was talking. Bless you.
I can't believe it. Devastating.
Kobe's been my inspiration ever since I was a little kid. Had his posters, shoes, jerseys, clothes, etc. I'd buy anything I saw with a Kobe logo on it. The Mamba Mentality and Kobe are immortalized.
Best 1on1 player in Basketball history. NO ONE could stop him.
Jordan might have something to say about that. But definitely would be 1a and 1b in my opinion. Both have a obsession with winning.
Giannis is more unstoppable
Mozgov Wright man just fuck off. U got no idea what u talking about
Micheal Jordan himself said Kobe Bryant in his prime is the only one that has a chance at beating him. For someone who calls himself the best player of all time without thinking about it for a second, that says A LOT.
Strongly agree!!!! No fuckin one ☝️!!!
my favorite basketball player of all time thank you kobe for so much you meant mean to us all in L.A there will never be a greater Laker
It doesn’t have “a cost” - it’s called “an investment”
Well said.
RIP Kobe and Gianna Bryant. RIP to everyone who was killed in that accident. Live your life to the fullest and don't take it for granted. We never know when our time is up, so let's use this time to be the best we can be. And let's use this time to inspire others to do the same.
"To honestly express your self" - Bruce Lee
I don't usually comment but this is the best tribute I have watched yet. This is the kind of a video I missed Jaret doing. Appreciate it this is gold and something I would watch again time to time.
RIP Kobe...I have listen to this clip for years and it has changed my life. Sorry I didn’t wake up @430am to hit the gym this morning.
G.O.A.T in my generation of basketball. The way he played the game was intense.
Same here
Greatness is my religion.
greatness doesn't comment on youtube. greatness doesn't have time for it.
armin38822 thats why kobe hsd time for FB and twitter
Glo Show he’s not great
Albino Harambe yes he is you dumfuck
please don't ever take this down.. it's had me going for 5 years I always listen to this.. at least twice a week..
I’m listening to this and getting hungry. I’m going through a health battle but this is keeping me strong.
Discipline is difficult when your young but when u realize it’s a big asset you start to understand…
Wish you were still here. One of a kind work ethic. You did what needed to be done. You were taken away from us so soon, but your legacy is more than almost anyone could leave behind . Your inspiration runs so deep, down where you need to feel it in order to do what needs to be done.
THANK YOU, GOD BLESS YOU
ALWAYS.
AND YOUR DAUGHTER.......
Thanks a lot guys. May God bless all of you more.
These are the videos I miss from Jaret!
Kobe is the reason I always say I’m willing to die to win, regardless of if it’s a world title or a game of tic tac toe, I want it as bad as I want to breathe. Kobe taught me to value mental toughness to an insane degree. Rest In Peace mamba you’re truly the best.
Fun fact on July 4th he watched THE SANDLOT with his family
He's the best mentor of all time👑.Hats off
The Greatest Of Our Time
"You asked for my hustle, I gave you my soul." - Kobe Bryant
Kobe transcended the game of basketball. His will and motivation knew no boundaries. This video changed the way I viewed life when I saw it years ago. It motivated to become the best version of myself. While it wasnt on the basketball court, I applied his philosophy to my own goals and it has propelled me to a level I could not imagine before. The best we can do is honor his legacy by never giving up and giving all that we can to whatever it is we are trying to accomplish. RIP Kobe.
Absolutely love your videos bro! This vid popped up on my suggestions feed and I was like "Oh Jaret got a new Kobe motivational video, I gotta see this!"
Jaret just sent me the speech. I did the rest :9
RIP to the GOAT. This man inspired me in my academic and professional life not just on the court
This is probably THE BEST Kobe retirement tribute i've seen on youtube! Simply inspirational, just like the Mamba himself!
Thanks I made it :)
To give up one of things that I love, to give up on my dreams would be to give up on everything I suffered for. Everything I worked so hard for up to this point. Without my dreams my life would seem so useless I'd have no purpose. And To have no purpose is worse than any failure I could ever achieve.
Exactly.
In 2010 I umpired his daughter Natalia's softball game here in Newport Beach. She was eight years old at the time. I spoke to Kobe every half inning for 2 1/2 hours. Same thing the following week. Took a picture with him, and it hangs in my classroom. He was a wonderful human being. We all make mistakes. He bounced back and impacted others greatly. He worked with kids here in SoCal in private, impacting them dramatically. I pray that he is in heaven now. RIP Kobe, Gianna, Coach Altobelli, and all others who died all too soon. Great video with a great message.
Decisions shape our destiny and obsession can be beautiful.
That part about expectations. That was deep........truly inspiring
indeed greatness has a cost...Kobe gave so.much: his body, heart and soul! And he gave everything with integrity. It was not without mistakes, but he always learned from his mistakes, he rose from.his falls, he rose above the difficulties, he imspired us all. But it is only now that we truly appreciate him, his life, his values...RIP Kobe.
Please don’t ever delete this video ever
"You asked for my hustle i gave you my heart because it came with so much more"
-Kobe Bryant

Was watching this the day before he passed and had to come back to say RIP to Kobe and his daughter ... May the greatest live on among us all.
I don’t think y’all understand how chilling this is how powerful these words are it makes you feel greatness in your mind your soul… Kobe gives me the drive the motivation to push on any complicated tasks that come my way in life.. I can’t Fail at anything, I push to be great, I push to master every Job/career I go for.. I. Am. Greatness. ✊🏾💯

This hits different today I’ll miss you sir !
New day New You. One of the greatest videos on CZcams
That was a great video. Really moving. Can’t believe he’s gone. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Such a interesting thumbnail title.. and my question is, at what cost, how big does the payment have to be, my life, my soul?
Christian Sims /Artist This happens to be one of the smartest comments on here.
Hopefully not. If you do it right, it will be a challenge..but if it is your purpose as opposed to something you want irregardless of whether it was your mission or not (i.e. - just because you want rewards), then it will cost you hard work and won’t require any sacrificing of a sound moral compass.
Not everyone does it the right way the way people think they do.
Learn from the greats but keep the INTENT pure in your own quest and it shouldn’t cost you what you’re referring to.
@@JARBLYTV Thankyou and whole heartedly agree. You're passion and dedication will bring the rewards, and riches and it might not be right away but it will come. I heard this more times than not. Plus people who have a lot money and material things said it's still dosent fill that void.
Christian Sims /Artist Making money is necessary (in this time in this sphere), but hopefully there’s a lot of good reasons behind it, knowing it’s not just you behind it. If done the right way, it’s not necessarily a void but a lot more choice and options. What you do with the larger array of options should still be in the name of good.
@@JARBLYTV yes u believe money can be used for quicker access, and can be used for so much good . I guess I was talking when money is attained for just material things, and many privy possessions that the buyer disent necessarily need. How bout just donate some or renovating a homeless shelter. I guess if I had a lot of money I would get myself somethin but I be think about huge food drives, paying off hospital Bill's. Creating small business for the community or in gentrified areas.
Christian Sims /Artist Many people attain money for the sake of itself and possessions and the power it will have over others.
Sometimes the trail of what we naively think is good done by other people is really just a system devised for more money and control.
And sometimes things we think are “good” falsely prevent people from being self sufficient or doing good themselves.
Intentions are what matter and hopefully will be rewarded like they should be.
This world is incredibly complex.
You always give me the drive I need your the best kobeeeeeee! Rip to everyone that passed much loveeeeeeeeeee! One time !
I am so heartbroken, after he retired I picture him like most people did, coaching the Los Angeles Lakers in the future . R.I.P Black Mamba
I listen to this everyday.
One of the best motivational vids ever no cap
I used to watch this for motivation during hard times in life, now that he has passed it’s almost like it has new meaning. Life is short, live it to the fullest
My favorite motivational video
wow thanks man!
This video hits differently now that he is gone, don't ever delete it... Rest In Peace Kobe. Mamba forever💜💛
This motivates me every single day
Inspired me every time I watch it
Obsession can be buitiful!!
Kobe showed us that greatness is power by failure commitment and love of the game.
Like Kobe i have cut off all joy and happiness in my life and embraced the obsession and the dark side, now i know peace.
Does that mean you dont enjoy what you are doing
Same
He didn't cut out all of the joy. Basketball WAS and IS his joy and is a platform to share that with others, on the highest stage known to man
#Relentless by Tim Grover.
Obsession does not necessarily mean dark side. May you be careful.
I’ve watched this video every single day, for motivation, prior to, during and all through out my daily workouts, for the past 8 months. Thank you Kobe.
This video is definitely motivation frfr can't enjoy enough of The Black Mamba 💯💯💯👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Man miss this dude like he was my lil brother, watching all your motivational videos here and applying to my everyday life.
What a wonderful soul
Min 4.30, what makes Kobe the best ever, to me. That's the real way to make your teammates better: you show them the way, with example, on who to become better by their own, and by their choice, if they want it. That's the only way worth it, to become better.
Watched this video every time i needed motivation gave me that confidence when i needed it most thank you mamba RIP to you and your daughter
i'd like to nominate this for "the very best of youtube"
Damn I miss Kobe! He was the last of that great era. We may never see anything like him again.
So much Love and respect for this man.... so little words to express it.
Lakers for life!
I will be here every single day
Superb, best Kobe Bryant video I have seen until now!! great work men, keep it up.
I watch this video a year ago and now I came back with team championship greatness demands everything 🥇
You inspire my working routine, I wish to became best version of myself and not live anything on table. RIP dear Kobe!
Pure greatness
Wonderfully made video!!!!!! The world has lost a champion. He was the best in basketball.
I've watched a lot of youtube videos. To me, this is the best video of youtube. It just tells how to live a life.
Thanks Kobe. From a french person who doesn't know about basketball. Your message is way beyond your sport.
What a inspiration man I've learned so much from him. 4 hours of sleep in 3 days and literally 2 MEALS along with a long of tests the world is throwing at me and dealing with countless amounts of stress but I promise you I'll still push forward and outwork you because your mind won't let you take this kinda punishment... Most y'all will go 5150
This is one of the best motovation videos I've watched, and the speech of the greatest....words can't describe
Gone too soon my childhood Hero, my idol. Our idol. Rest in peace Kobe, thank you for everything you've done.
Kobe is #Alive in #Me and in #Everyone who is #Inspired by him and chasing their #BeautifulDreams until they get it...
I’ve memorized the whole video
