I only recently discovered Fred at parklife in the summer. Two of the people I was with were adamant that we waited for his set. We waited an hour for him to set up, I was thinking he better be good, but also that he must be good if they were willing to wait for him to start. Well. He started his set and within 5 minutes I knew I was watching something special. Blew my fucking mind. Been on repeat for me ever since. Love you Fred

This set needs to be listened to actively, not passively. I plead with you if you are thinking about sticking this on in the background, don't. Instead, treat it like you would a movie. Sit down and allow yourself to be drawn into each song and truly experience it. You may be taken to places in your mind you had not yet discovered or you have been distant from.
i feel this way SO strongly about this and the other studio live sessions. similarly with some other audiovisual sets i really love. what i WILL say is that fred's sets are some of the best in terms of their ability to deliver a good experience if you're not fully paying attention, as well as if you're giving it your undivided attention. but yea...if i watch this with someone i always give 'em side eyes when they're checking their phone lol 👀

Been following you since your lockdown sessions. My dad died of Bowel Cancer on New Years Eve. Your music never fails to help me express all my emotions simultaneously. Never experienced anything like it mate.
I’m 34 and Dad was 64. We drove to the South of France this summer to give him some amazing last memories and I played him all your music on repeat on the journey there and back. He hated it with a passion 😂 Now all your music reminds me of tender moments and conversations with him.

I’m going through as well! Crazy because I first head him back in December 2021 and listened to his first album but its only now that I realized what each song meant the connection got deeper the more I listen to it.
I actually feel his music takes us through the full five stages of grief-which really includes every emotion possible when you think about it.
For me it’s just the instant flickers from extreme happiness to crippling sadness, each moment lingering over the next somehow.
Truly beautiful work. And ever charming, in an Elliott Smith way as best I can compare. Fred rules.

I also love the visual and musical style of the last song; giving me some directions as to the transition to this new world after all the chaos in the past 2 years. One of the best things I've heard in a long while. It's so hard to explain what's happening inside when I listen to your work Fred.
