    Thanks Tim I also used the method you did to retro fit the footwells into the same spliced wire. Now I control them with rotary dimmer switch. Great work.

    Hello, my PRNDS lights next to the shift knob arent lighting up on my 2015 audi a3. Do you think thats a bulb being out or does it have something to do with the wiring. Im not tech savy so i dont wanna mess with it lol. Would really appreciate it if you can reply back 🙏🏼

      TW Randomz I did it! So far so good. No warnings and I plugged wire position in white led. However, I really think the lights came with some "black points"...I mean...it is not pure with Led as I see in the A3 built in cup holders. Unfortunately, CZcams does not allow pictures.

    HI,
    Is there any way to remove just the aluminium/metal trim around the shifter and MMI controls? It got scratched and was thinking of a paint job. Thanks!

      I cannot recall unfortunately, mine has a slight tear that isn't noticeable but I haven't checked to see if it can be purchased separately. I doubt it tbh.

    Hi TW
    I went to my local Audi dealer today to get the parts. They told me that there is a risk of getting several warnings, if i get the power to the LED cupholder, from the lighter. Did you get any warnings after install?
    thanks mate

    • @TimWilliamsHD
      @TimWilliamsHD  Před 7 lety

      Hi Lars,
      no warnings after install at all,my parts were genuine too so not sure why dealer said there could be any errors really...

    Hello there..I already got my car with this led cup holder from factory. I’m just wondering if I switch these cables it change color to red? Is that 100% true or I can expect to destroy it? :D

  • @fraysa
    @fraysa Před 5 lety +2

    Hey Tim,
    Thanks for the video - but why aren't you following genuine methods when retrofitting these projects? The LED cupholder lights originally go into BCM pin #4 if i'm not mistaken so you can control them through the MMI. Not so much work to be honest - better than cutting the 12v lighter wires.

    • @TimWilliamsHD
      @TimWilliamsHD  Před 5 lety +1

      Yes I am aware of this but I found this out after I used this method...

    Quick question. For part# 000979009E it lists as rear fog light trigger wire. Or they have 00097900EA that lists as connector repair wire, yellow. They look similar, just want to make sure I get the correct one. Can you please advise. I greatly appreciate it. Thanks G

      Thanks for watching! Plug and play mate!
      You can wire it into the cars harness which is how it's done properly so you can adjust the brightness on the mmi or with the light knob near headlights but I went for the easy method.
