  • It's Spring....I think. That special time of the year when my Kubota LX2610 Compact Tractor sheds her LX2980 snow blower for the season. I walk through the disconnect step by step. I hope it is helpful for some of the new tractor owners. Happy Easter All!

    Follow the routine and your done for the snowy year and looking forward to spring. The tractor survived the wintry blasts of snow and it time to bed down the snowblower. Happy Easter.

    I would check that sticky silver pin to see if a little gentle grinding would make your life easier. Basically making sure the holes are lined up properly and the frame is not twisted.

      Good morning and thanks for the great advice. My neighbour Guy has been telling me the same thing over the last two seasons. He has offered to do that for me. Maybe I will take him up on it soon. Thanks again!

    Thanks for all the videos Gord! I made the huge mistake yesterday of chatting with the neighbor with the door open and then pulling forward forgetting it was opened. New door ordered!

    I hear you Gord. It was a beautiful day in Bobcaygeon cottage country. I just converted my snow plowing cub cadet back into a lawnmower today. If all goes according to plan, this is the last winter for it, as I hope to get a Kubota later this year. I walked through a dealer lot on Good Friday after I phoned the dealer to make sure it was OK. I got to sit on a BX23S, B2601, LX2610 and LX3310. I was shocked at how much bigger the LX machines were than the others. Way bigger than I thought. All of them were really nice.

    Good Morning GP, 🌞 Oui mon ami, the defrost cycle as started 👍👌😇 🚧🚧 GP at 4:35, I realy like these protective front covers for your steering cylinder 🤔👍🚧🚧 Silicone spray over your hydraulic hoses is a nice sun protective and also make it more flexible during winter 👍😇👌 Have a very nice Easter Sunday Sir Cheers 🍻

    I have the same tractor and blower Gord. I don't take my sub frame off for small loader jobs in the winter, it works, just not much clearance under the tractor.

  • @brianlight3853
    @brianlight3853 Před rokem +1

    The secret is you need a second tractor. Leave one set up for winter. I know that's an expensive venture. But with your ability to chisel and profiteer, it's not that much of an ordeal. Cheers.

    Just like you my driveway is long. I just finished my second year with a pull type snowblower. I have a snow pusher on the front. This seems to be a good fit for my situation. But… the best move I made was getting a cab!!! Thanks to recommendation from this site and other buddies I got a cab.

    My 525 loader has removable cable ties to hold the hydraulic lines to the lift cylinders right from Kubota. Maybe this is an option rather than cutting all those cable ties every year.

  • @SeanONeill13
    @SeanONeill13 Před rokem +1

    A front blower, IMHO, is worth the extra cost. Constantly turning around while blowing, no freaking way. Like you said, I never used the loader in winter anyways. Its a 10 min job, max, to swap, if needed anyways.

  • @rbhillner

    The " green" machines are quite easy to put on and take off also, but I find that I have to watch a video first to refresh my memory before I start. Thank God for people like you who do these videos. I'm sure I would either hurt myself or break something if I didn't see the video on doing it first.

    Morning GP.
    Yup that’s on my to do list this week.. Going to be in the 70’s . On my B2650 it’s a little different. I think it was like your old tractor.. Can’t remember.. Would have to go back and watch it..
    I agree with the front mount blower being a little easier but have seen the rear mount ones in action and they have a little more power coming off the rear PTO.. Mid mount is less.. But for the convenience I like my front mount..
    But like you said the loader does come in handy at times..
    But I have a advantage..
    Two tractors.. hahahah
    Love my 1025r but has no cab.. so I only use it when it is needed in the winter..
    I know shut up Gus.. Stop rubbing it in.. hahaha
    Happy Easter to you and Carol and the girls..
    As always stay safe and always be kind.
    Cheers

    Hello GP. Thank you for this video. Happy Easter! There was not much snow this year here in Southern Maine that having the snow blower on the tractor seemed like a waste of time. But alas, if we did not have the blower on, it would have snowed really hard. We invested in a sweeper for our BX and what a nice attachment. We have had so much dirt on our paved driveway the sweeper seems like a good investment. Plus we can use the sweeper when it snow only an inch of two, which we have had a lot of. Have a beautiful day.

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  Před rokem

    Morning GP, disconnecting the front mount blower looked reasonably quick. I don't have a snowblower for my tractor. I do plan to get one and I totally agree that the front mount would be best but for me I will go for a rear mount since I need the grapple and bucket on during the winter. I'll just have to put up with the pain in the neck. Happy Easter Sir!

    Great job, just a side note, I do believe you only need acc position for relieving pressure on the third function (or any hydraulics that have a solenoid)

    @JohnSmith-tv5ep Před rokem +1

    GP, would it help to drive the front tires up on blocks that would put the blower at the same level when you engage or disconnect?

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Morning John. I think so but it only takes me a few seconds to grab the front and lift it a bit to get it to hook on or come off. Thanks for the good advice - and hope you had a nice Easter!

    What are you doing to protect hydraulic hose connections? Plugs and wrap entire assemble in plastic bag?

  • @watershedoverlook
    @watershedoverlook Před rokem +1

    Do you have to put the key into "Acccesory" to bleed the valves because of the third function? I always relieve the pressure after use after I've shut it down.
    Great video Gord, have a great week!

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Morning Chris. Does that actually work? I will check the manual again when I am back up but I was told that the tractor needs to be in ACC in order for the pressure to release for all of them. I may have misunderstood though. I think for sure the 3rd function should be as it is not actuated until you turn it on. Thanks pal - Happy Easter!

    • @GPOutdoors
      @GPOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      Hey I think you are correct. The manual says to relieve the pressure with the engine shut off. I guess they told me to turn on the key to "accessory" in order to do the same with my 3rd function valve. Good catch - thanks my friend!
