The Gemma Doyle series was my favorite in high school. 1890s British boarding school, hidden magic lands, secret society vibes. It was very idyllic when I was 16!
The Ex Hex, In the Company of Witches and When The Crow's Away are on my Fall TBR. I've been really into witchy books this Fall season.
I read so many witchy books last year! I can’t wait to get to some more. 🖤
Half a soul is so good, whimsical, witty and cute, and surprisingly well written!
I read a Great and Terrible Beauty and the rest of the series when I was in high school and its SO good. Its one of the few books from back then I want reread.
Glad to hear it!
Fall is my favorite time of the year!! These books give me all of those creepy/cozy vibes. I definitely will have to put a few of these on my TBR. Happy Reading!!!
Yay! I’m so glad! Thanks for stopping by. 🧡✨
The Sun Down Motel was very good! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Love your fall vibes. I am going to read from my backlist also; Hester by Laurie Lico Albanese, BOTM October 2022. Saved it for fall!
So many good ones here! I loved The Death of Mrs Westaway! Hope just gifted me House of Salt and Sorrow and I’m so pumped to read it soon. I’ve not read any Kingfisher yet but hopefully this year I can change that!😊
House of Salt & Sorrow!!! You’re going to love it! 😍
Half a Soul was surprisingly good. I highly recommend.
The Hacienda was a fun read. The middle moved a bit slowly, but I loved the atmosphere, the time period, and the gothic vibes.
Both books are great recommendations 🤗
YES to the Caraval Series! All 3 books were so amazing! If you like the Night Circus, you will love Caraval!
I loved the Sundown Motel! I would definitely recommend reading the book in tandem with the audio book!
I loved the small spaces series! Book two & three were my fav, but they were all good.
The Sundown Motel is my favorite Simpne St James so far! It's AWESOME on audio too!!! I think you will love it!
I can’t wait!!!
OMG CARAVAL IS AMAZING, one of my faves 🥹💗
I also just got Belladonna last week and I'm already so excited to read it soon. Now I'm just waiting for the perfect weather🍁🍂 I hope you get to read a lot of books read🥰
V.E. Schwab writes the perfect autumn books! 🍂 I rarely hear people mentioning the Dark Vault but I think it's great! It's been years since I read it and I still think about it from time to time ☺
Small Spaces is amazing and you WILL want to binge the series!
Ooooh I’m even more excited!
I loooove your aesthetic so much !!!
This means so much! Thank you 🥹🫶🏻
small spaces looks so spoky and amazing!
I loved A Great and Terrible Beauty! I read it and Rebel Angels (the sequel) twice…strangely I don’t recall vampires. Hmmm. Might be time to reread. I have tried reading the third in the series twice but can’t seem to get through it. Ha. Hope you enjoy it!
If you're looking for super creepy middle grade horror, Wait Til Helen Comes is a classic. The Dollhouse Murders is also a classic and amazing. I read tons of MG horror when I was young, and those were two of my favorites.
I have the graphic novel for wait till Helen comes!
Ones that I have on my list are Such Sharp Teeth by Rachel Harrison and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray!
Caraval is also unread on my shelf but I really hope to read it this fall🍁😊
Great list! Please read A Great and Terrible Beauty. It’s so good! ❤
All your books you plan to read sound amazing!!
🧡🧡🧡
I just got September house! I also got a creepy middle grade Finch House by Ciera Burch, My roommates a vampire, 15 minutes of flame by Christin Beecher, Legendary Witches by Cass Kay, Mark of the Wicked by Georgia Bowers, The Stranger Upstairs by Lisa Marlin, Ink Blood and Sisters by Emma Torezs, Hex appeal by Kate Johnson, Happily Haunted ever After by Brittany Kelly, Darcy Coates The Haunting of Leigh Harker, How to sell a Haunted house by Grady Hendrix, Kill Creek by Scott Thomas, Caught Deadhanded by Carol J Perry, Witch Way to Murder by Shirley Damsgaard, one poison pie by Lynn Cahoon, Bait and Witch by Angela M sanders, A Skeleton in the family by Leigh Perry that whole series, Brownies and Broomsticks Bailey Cates, The Narrows by Kate Alice Marshall and so many more hahah my list is so long!!
@danieleigh6468 I loved the Witch Way Librarian series by Angela M Sanders and The Family Skeleton series by Leigh Perry and highly recommend them!! They are perfect series for the Fall season!!
What a great list. Thanks for posting 🤗
So many great titles!
@@surpriseitsus9622 thank you! I can’t wait to start them haha it’s a long list
@@catreadsbooks awesome!!!
You’ve got me plugging my ears at the Brandy Sandy part 😂 just kidding! I hope you enjoy Tress ❤
I really want to read Such Sharp Teeth! It's so hard to find good werewolf novels that aren't just smutty romance Kindle Unlimited stories. 😂
Bahahaha it’s so true! 😂
I LOVED Into the Drowning Deep! It’s got some of the most unsettling scenes I’ve ever read. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!
Oooh I’m intrigued!
Hi Liv The Caraval series is on my TBR. Am currently reading her Once Upon a Broken Heart series. I read and unhauled Vespertine along with her other books. Hope you get to Half a Soul and Small Spaces. I became a fantasy reader because of the Winternight Trilogy.
As I am watching this in a short sleeve shirt and shirts, I can only imagine how warm you are in that sweater.🙂 I have the ex hex on my list as well.
Vespertine is amazing..
I finally read Into the Drowning Deep earlier this year after it being on my physical TBR for years and I loved it so much I can't stop thinking about it
I’m definitely bumping it up on my list! 🤭
I just bought Masters of Death and I’m so excited to read it! I’m not even much of a fantasy reader and I was like 🤩 I’m also buddy reading it with one of my best friends and it makes it more fun haha
Buddy reads are always the best! 👏🏻
Wraith Kings- Grace Draven❤
I’m 75% through the Hacienda. Pretty good I must say. A bit predictable but very atmospheric and moody. It feels like a movie I’ve already seen. The house is the best character!
Nothing cozier than a new Liv video🍁🥰
Love you forever! 🧡
The Sun downe hotel is a 5 star!!
Belladonna was so great! I'll be reading the next one, Foxglove, soon! 🎉
A great list of books. Im in Phoenix and it's 113 today, so its hard to watch all of you ladies in fall sweaters. 😊
Small Spaces is one of my favorite middle grades! I will say that the series ended poorly in my opinion, but this first one is well worth it, even if you treat it as a stand-alone!
Also, Amari is INCREDIBLE. The second one is even better and I totally can’t wait for the third!
Spells For is good reminds me of Alice Hoffman / Alison Addison Allen novels.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤📚❤️...I like Ruth Ware books, but The Death of Mrs. Westaway, my favorite. All those Gothic feels. Oh yes, A Great and Terrible Beauty good!!!
I hope that you will enjoy your books.
I read my own books mostly during the Winter Tome. I go to my County Library from Spring to late Fall and check out Books and Magazines.
Take Care & Happy Reading
❤️🤗🍂🍁☕️🔰❤️
I love your video ! I downloaded The Twisted Ones audiobook it sounds so intriguing.
Thank you friend! I hope we both love it. 🫶🏻
I just grabbed Masters of Death because it sounds great!
I know right! 🫶🏻
Loved the Caraval series! And also read the follow-up series, Once Upon a Broken Heart. So good! ❤
I own the first one in that series too!
Great book recommendations as always!😍
🧡🧡🧡
I really liked the Hacienda - so spooky!! I hope you are able to get to the Twisted Ones. I read it and wasn't a fan, but I never see others talking about it. So I'm curious to see your thoughts!
I’m curious to see what it’s like!
I love all the awesome fall content! Question for you, what would you take to read if you were going on a Canadian road trip in October?
Good luck with your reading!
SCREAMING WHEN I SAW CARAVAL
🤭🤭🤭
You should try The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kirsten White. Soooo good and gives you all the vibes of the classic.
I love that one! 👏🏻
Have you tried The Way Of Kings? I feel like the pacing is better than Mistborn, it definitely grabbed me better
Not yet! I’m too intimidated. 😂 I did like skyward though!
Into the Drowning Deep is great, love murderous mermaids :)
Your sweater is so cuteeee
Omg I love The Mary Shelley Club!!
Target is the best! 🧡
Vespertine audio book was amazing! I've had the dark fault forever too, but haven't read it.😜👍
I've read both "The Girl in White" and "Small Spaces". I love both books and my children have all of the "Small Spaces" series. They enjoyed all but the final one. It felt a bit rushed and incomplete, in my opinion.
I have read 11 off your list! 🙃 so I will be reading the other 10 with you! 😂
Wow, that’s amazing though! 👏🏻
ohhhh I read a great and terrible beauty years ago (like... 15 years ago?) and actually thought about it recently. Might be time to re-read.
Ohhh Belladonna was great! I loved it, way more than Addie Larue
Love your lip color!! Can you share what it is?
Maybelline in nude nuance! 🫶🏻
Id love to buddy read the Mary Shelly Club with you
Such sharp teeth is a movie as well so if you like it then you should watch teeth as it is a real horror film love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤
Lovely Liv, where is your gorgeous sweater from? 🧡
It’s from target, but a couple years ago!
Hi Liv, I'm a new subscriber and will be reading Cackle in October for
Hi Amy, so glad you’re here! 🧡
We basically will be reading the same books this fall😂👏🏻
Definitely not mad about it. 😂
She specifically says she’s not going to read more of the back and then immediately reads more from the back. Uh?
Sometimes things get missed during edits. 🤷🏼♀️
Unfortunately Such Sharp Teeth was just really gross. It turned my stomach a few times. The main character also obsessed over her body so much that it gave me weird vibes and made me feel like…is this what Rachel Harrison really thinks about women’s bodies? Does she really think we’re all irredeemably gross just by existing?
I didn’t like Tress but I think that’s because it’s slightly mismarketed - the entire thing takes place on the pirate ship. Tress just walks around a boat for 400 pages while the narrator talks about himself.
