i could not agree with you more its sickening every time the news its getting old now just either show us the real stuff or shut up stop sprouting bullshit and building us up over nothing at the minite
what about reviews peoples opinion on a game that would be good to see and being able to put more than 1 game in the basket i buy more than one game when i buy most of them time same as i do on the ps store i save up and wait for sales most of time but if you say a game i worth it i and i like it also i will get it there and then so its a pain on switch i have to do it so many times for the games it needs to change that so more than 1 game can be purchased a time save time for us but there is so much they could do to make it better for us gamers lets hope they do something about it in the next gen if it ever arrives i just don't bother listening now to the news 8i a am sick of hearing bull so i just going to wait and see if and when it comes out
The eShop is a complete mess, no way around that. The amount of shovelware, the lag, no review scores... 20 years behind today's standards. Let's just hope the next console improves upon that.
100%
The lag!!!!!!!!!
The lag is by far the worst. Accidentally hitting left when you already spend 10 minutes scrolling, then it resets to the top of the sales list at which point I just give up. Locking certain icons behind the premium plan is pretty lame too. Bulk purchases would be great, no idea why that hasn't been done by now. Have zero hope they will fix any of this with the next console, the company cannot be unaware what should be basic standards by now.
My biggest complaint is lag on the eshop.
Having a smart recommendation base on our past purchase and wishlist will help too.
For me the biggest issue is how slow it is. For the rest, thankfully we have Deku Deals
all your points are very good but i would add also game user rating like on steam so crapp games will get bad scores so people will quickly know what is worth the money or at least what other think about that game
Agreed, I briefly mention that at the very end of the video, I think it would need some sort of safety net though, confirmed purchase, or minimum amount of time played
Was going to mention this as a solution too especially since they had reviews in previous system shops, don't know why they got rid of them for Switch. Definitely need to only allow owners to review, otherwise companies like MidnightWorks will get their employees to create accounts just to give 5 star ratings.
I've bought close to 3000 games on the switch! I don't need to know the games I've purchased that are on sale. I hate that they can't have a feature that removes that from the eShop
To be fair Nintendo has done a great job of ensuring the Switch itself is speedy and responsive, I wish they’d make a similar effort to the eshop next.
Even on sale is hard to find new good games organically. If not for channels like yours I would never find out about a lot of great games. And for that you have my sincere gratitude, man.
For decades Nintendo has been a fun, secondary system, for very particular handheld games or exclusives (Metroid, Zelda). It’s remarkable I still explore their offerings when PlayStation or PC exists.
This doesn’t help, but thank you for the less-fun reporting that people need to hear.
Personally, it's always been my primary (and sole console for the most part) as I'm a fan of a lot of Nintendo's first party games and I'm satisfied in the third party games found on it. I don't have endless amount of hours in the day to dedicate to videogames to justify owning more than one of the current gen.
God THANK YOU for pointing this out. The eShop drives me absolutely INSANE! for all of the reasons you mentioned. Using steam daily on my PC makes using switcth's eShop all the more mind numbing. There's even input lag in the joy con buttons when in the shop, so you can easily end up moving you cursor to the left of the screen and backing out of the sales list after spending 20 minutes or more scrolling down waiting endlessly for the games to load. Ugh. ALWAYS a very time consuming and frustrating experience. 😤
I try to be somewhat optimistic and keep in mind that the pandemic, supply chain issues, and current economic downturns have affected development on a Switch 2 or whatever direction they go in. The problems with the lag and lack of transparency via reviews on eshop are just ridiculous. The extreme proliferation shovelware on the Switch has made it so I only buy games from IPs I already know or that are covered by SwitchCorner and SwitchUp. I don't have the time, patience, or budget to dig through the crao until I find gold. I would absolutely love player recommendations based on previous purchases or wishlist games. Channels like yours are an absolute godsend to keep up with what's new, deals, and hidden gems.
I'm impressed you managed to keep this so short. The video and all the comments are on point
When you consider how successful the Switch has been it is incredible how awful the lag is on the eshop
I would like it to fix their web UI. I don't know your experience with it, but when I try to make purchases it regularly sends me to a 404 page during the final checkout step. This error happens more often, in my understanding, when I have recently made a successful purchase or when I decide to cancel my purchase at the last second by going back in history to think more. In the second case, the 404 error mentioned occurs during a subsequent attempt to purchase the same game (or another) within the same hour. These errors have happened to me more often over the last year, but to be fair I also buy more regularly on the eshop. Don't get me wrong, I love the eshop and continue to use it, but it's still irritating when it happens.
Out of curiosity, am I the only one this has happened to?
Keep up the videos. I basically watch all yours and a few other channels to find out what’s on sale and worth purchasing. Thank you.
I'm really liking this less formulaic approach to your videos. More of the "just a thought I had" mixed in with the sales stuff
Appreciate it, yeah I've recently changed it to whatever these are, deals, scripted reviews, and unscripted reviews too
Great video. Love your ideas. Especially the “if you liked this , you’d love THAT” part.
If I didn’t see a deals video the only EShop buys I do are found in the great deals section. It’s the only EShop section I even look at. Nice video, keep the goodness coming. I’ll keep watching.
I would like an option to buy games for others.
So if i see a nice multiplayer game on sale I could juist buy x4.
For 3 mates and me to play local or online.
At the end Nintendo should just take a good look at steam and pick all the great functioning features and implement in their own e-shop.
Something they should have done over 5 years ago. But hey it's never to late for improvements.
Oh man don't get me started on the wishlist! Why does it not remove the game automatically after I purchase it? I have to wait out the lag to go back in there and do it myself every time
Lag on eshop.. i been thinking it was my connection. Most of my time on it is at work or sitting out in the yard.
Wholeheartedly agree!! This is why i like looking for games on Xbox first since its much easier for me to navigate. Then, once i find something, I go and see if its available on the Switch with a simple name search. Regardless, something really needs to be done to clean it up. And I love Luke's channel also.
07:57 Man you did not have to do Noah dirty like that
Lol I was happy with that one
I wish we could reorganize our wishlists or or even hide prior demo or playtest “purchases” from our Redownload list.
The fact that they never updated it with simple features like a rating system or improving it so it's not a laggy mess leaves me with little to no hope with their next iteration of Nintendo Online
It's the crazy lag to me above all.
The crap I can live with but it's just insane that a first party app store can't get to the bottom of a wishlist without reloading and making you try again. It's a disgrace.
You're definitely right about the cart too, that's such a dream that I never even considered it.
My wishlist is maxed out... That's weird.
Looking for games in the eShop is an absolute chore.
Music is a good idea the amount of time I spend in the store is fairly high
What a refreshingly honest review.
I’m still gutted that puppet combo game got denied
I agree with most of the points but I will say as much as Nintendo needs to get rid of the shovelware then users are equally responsible for doing a little research before spending their money.
Biggest issue for me is eshop is slow but I don’t use it much as I watch your sales video so search for the game directly and buy physical whenever possible.
I found it quite sickening that scam game “Raft Survival Simulator” was in the Top 5 Charts for several months, which means many people were scammed, and would have been a horrible introduction for those new to the Switch.
only thing to do is get rid team running it and hiring a team that knows what they are doing. as it has no redeming features at all
You just have to look somewhere like Deku Deals to see how much better it could be. I know when the deals will update each day, it's much clearer to see what's on sale, direct links to the eshop pages. In some cases bundles can't actually be seen if you search on the eshop directly, so it's the only way to get the best price for the content you want. But yeah, the amount of absolute garbage you have to wade through is ridiculous, and it puts people off buying good games because they're all mixed in together.
The shovelware isn’t going anywhere I think. They make money off it and the good will they would get from removing it doesn’t necessarily translate into cash.
Im seeing comments about E-shop lag, maybe this is a regional issue?
Im 🇨🇦 and i have none wirelessly. A dark theme would be most welcome
to save my poor eyes at night, 😎
The eshop needs a major quality of life update.
Yes love switch stars
The question is will Nintendo ever fix the eshop
I buy nothing before extensively researching on CZcams... My only priority for The Switch was couch-play games, (particularly for 4-players).

Cel Damage HD (Very disappointing, it was the PS port; not Gamecube's)
(Not including obvious physical purchases like Smash Bros.)
For me, the eshop is mute and totally worthless. Only for channels like yours and switchup do I visit it. You’ve become a trusted service that have led to many purchases I defiantly wouldn’t have made without you. Sure this limits my scope but these days there’s such a slooth Of games that I’m not just looking at the heavy hitters. Thus as i said, you’ve helped me purchase indie titles I wouldn’t normally have looked at. Lastly, I just think it’s despicable that Nintendo allow so many mutton dressed as lamb games on the eshop (and by default, devaluing any good game that’s there). You, switchup and other channels are the only reason I ever go to the eshop
Switch Stars fighting the good fight. I wish Red Deer would drop the tons of versions of the same "game" on perma sales. They're a better developer than that and put out decent titles at times.
I do mention that in the video, alot of publishers are doing it now, it's a workaround for a weak navigation system honestly, until Nintendo fix things up then I think more and more will start doing it
I definitely agree that Nintendo needs to do something about all the BS that happens on the eShop, it is beyond ridiculous. But in regards to the Switch as a console, power, specs, etc. I am fine with it as is, but of course I will be getting the next Nintendo console whenever they do decide to release it.
Woah there Alex. Careful there. Nintendo might send some of their ninjas to you if you keep at em like this. 😅
Jokes aside though, i wish their eshop load time is faster and i really want to see all those shovelware and questionable games go away or something.
We NEED those sales to find the good games at decent prices though, I'm not going to pay the $60-80 full retail price for AAA rubbish!
Sales will always be a part of the digital landscape and it's great for us for sure, but it shouldn't be the only way to get your game displayed in front of people. Steam do quite a good job with me where it says, you played this for x amount of hours so you'll probably like this
@@SwitchCorner - True, the eShop is a mess...Steam is better organized AND still has good sales, I still love those sales though!
Eshop?!? WHO uses that 😂 dekudeals!! Alwayssss
Nintendo to fans: Beggars can't be choosers.
Nintendo fans: Shut up and take my money!
Bought an Xbox x IM LOVIN IT
Apparently there was another game that got removed from the eShop back around late 2019 or 2020 that was one of those games with nudity but apparently it even had sex parts in it. I can't vouch if that was really on the eShop but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Nintendo definitely needs to be more hands on with the next eShop or whatever it called.
thank you, we think about that all times, you just used the proper words and published a video which is great. Now will Nintendo watch it or even consider it ? that's a different story. poor hardware and software quality control has been going since release day. High prices and false advertisrment is the same.
The slow eshop scrolling is a joke I agree. The first few pages are fine, but then the more you scroll through the more it slows to less than crawl...I usually give up and go to my browser on my phone or PC. Come Nintendo sort your shop out! You've had a few years to get your sh*t together ffs.
Nah, the longer the wait, the better the next hardware. I have no problem waiting another year for the next gen Switch.
I agree with the stupid rumor videos.
Don’t need those at all. Waste of time.
The eshop truly is a mess. Reminds me of steam before Valve started to curate more.
Not to mention the endlessly slow and rudimentary interface.
Even smaller studios/publishers who aren’t necessarily making asset flips are rereleasing their games constantly and those are always on sale, it’s ridiculous.
I’d also like a hide list. I can do this on dekudeals or pspinfo but not on the official eshop with thousands of games?
Love Switch Stars and how he talks about these trash asset flip games.
A year will not make hardware already chosen better since consoles take years to bring into completion as such cannot add newer tech since its unproven plus takes longer to mass produce as well
@@bamban_garcia5562
So, releasing it this year would have made the hardware even older.
Thus my statement stands.
Also, it’s nothing new that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo revise the hardware according to developers’ wishes and when testing out performance.
We also don’t know shit yet. To believe that the hardware is already ready and done, sitting somewhere to be released or mass produced is ridiculous.
@@Lock2002ful Consoles take years of research and development built upon the tech available based on devs feedback not to mention the years needed to make such agreements with manufacturing companies plus the need to have said tech mass produced on such a scale to ensure no component shortage can affect production, delaying said console release will mean the tech itself would be obsolete already requiring to start over again or hope it sells regardless
PlayStation 5 waiting for let's say rdna 4 or this year 14,000mb/s gen 5 SSD would mean waiting years for said tech to be produced in massive amounts to create consoles with hence launching way later than intended
@@bamban_garcia5562
Again, that doesn’t change the fact that the later a new hardware releases the more performance it has.
Also, doesn’t really take years to have devs get a go at a dev kit and then give feedback to the hardware manufacturer. Takes perhaps one year.
@@Lock2002ful Like I said to gather all the tech requires countless agreements with countless companies that provide the components required resulting in the dev kits then finalizing the final product that must be manufactured millions before launch, let's not forget the controllers take time as well on top of ensuring retail stores have enough systems to sell to consumers as well plus sending countless consoles through said companies by boat or flying as well, like I said it's a massive process that takes years to come into fruition
I look at Sony’s censorship policies and I’d easily go with what Nintendo currently has over Sony.
This is very true sony have an issue with censoring!
NGL, the Nintendo eshop is notorious for posting questionable shovelware. Don't get me started on how laggy AF the eshop is (it's 2024 Nintendo, permission granted to have a snappy eshop).
I see they already bottlenecked the traffic to your video, I just deleted my parts 1 and 2 of my series! You can't make negative truthful videos about Nin...do, the algorithm destroys all traffic to it.
Give us dark theme for eshop and autoplay on video previews when you hover over a game with a trailer to play and stop charging us to play mobile games on our consoles that are already free for Android and ios! And if they are a paid mobile game at least give us discount. Like Google play pass and apple arcade
Meaning add them in also with Nintendo switch online! Boom! Game changer!
I think with the charged mobile games, you can argue it removes all ads and microtransactions which i'm all for personally. They just released a game last week, Highwater, which was a netflix game, and it's charged, but it's fantastic. One of my favorite switch puzzle games was apple arcade too, that's Grindstone, was happy to pay for it
Nintendo has done a great job
If you buy crap “games”, that’s on you.
There are enough good games out there to not even lock into the weird fringe garbage
I check the new releases every couple weeks. Anything interesting gets added to my wishlist.
Then I check the wishlist to see if anything is on sale.
Having said that, I have no interest in 99% of the junk on Switch.
Be more selective.
The eShop is a total embarrassment. Nintendo used to be about quality control, now it seems they don't give a shit.
Shovelware being there is fine. Every successful digital storefront is gonna have shovelware.
The problem is mainly that unlike other storefronts, the switch e-shop is a fucking slog to look for the diamonds because it runs like absolute garbage. Xbox 360's digital store ran better. It's 2024 and the shitty e shop is just an extension of how nintendo still refuses to get with the times when it comes to OS and online.
Nintendo, even in their prime, is terrible as far as a business practice goes.
I would honestly just love the feature of blocking certain publishers in my Eshop feed. Unfortunately, things that include quality control means less money for big N.
The Nintendo eshop is the most egregious and appalling customer experience in gaming today. The sheer arrogance and lazy attitude of Nintendo toward this aspect of their platform is nothing short of disgraceful … disrespectful toward their developers and customers alike.
The amount of terrible low effort games being ported from the play store to the eshop is disgusting.
Holy crap I didn't know Nintendo allowed these crap games. I guess I've been. I don't think I've ever bought a game that I didn't watch a few reviews on first.
Eshop is so terrible. I always use your channel to discover something new
Why is Nintendo so incompetent when it comes to literally everything that has done no with online functionality?
I hear the PS5 Pro will be coming before a Switch 2. It's a really sad state of affairs.
We will have the Switch 2 soon enough, I'm honestly not too worried and I'm excited for it. We've waited this long, whats another 10 or so months
The USA elections are coming. Everyone is worried that something big is gonna happen. It would be great to have a new portable system just in case. @@SwitchCorner
If Nintendo is not going to keep the garbage games from being released on the eshop they definitely need to allow refunds
I would even be on board with partial or full credit towards next purchase, tbh.
Any problems switch has is negated by the fact that it's portable.
No problem switch has is greater than the benefits of the nintendo exclusive library and portability.
💯 i dont understand... #nintendo has porn on the eshop.. puzzle games to see anime girls viginas .... but that horror game was to much..😂
So true there's always 2 or 3 recently released, might even be the same games. Not that I would know though 😐.
It’s kind of hard to fix it when your business model is more focused on suing others.
Nintendo are about as anti-consumer as a company can be.
Are you guys forgetting that nintendo sold card board. Ugh. F nintendo, sony and Xbox.
Why are you even running this channel if you hate Nintendo and think they're terrible?
I never said that, I said they need to take some accountability around what's allowed on the eshop. PlayStation immediately blocked this sort of stuff. Saying they love money, that's all of them but that's not hate, that's business. Good companies should be able to face criticism and it's ok to criticise something you love
That’s like asking a parent why they discipline children they love.
Aspire to be better.
Good lord, calm down. This is all valid feedback. You must work for Nintendo if you're taking this personal 🤣
He never said he hated Nintendo, but Nintendo need to up their game when it comes to the eShop.
