I want to be more creative no matter if I’m afraid my ideas are not great but I enjoy them. I want to learn not to be afraid if someone thinks my art sucks. I want to explore more and if that means going by myself somewhere like an art class, I don’t want to be afraid to go alone. I want to put myself and my time before others. I want to value the things I love as much I give support to others. I want more creative outlet, I miss it. The last 3 years have been hard and I see all the beautiful creative things you do and it inspires me. Especially the mermaid stuff!! ❤️I am very excited to see your creativity. I wish I had a Tia like you. My parents were very creative and I know they would have loved your channel. 🫶🏻
My wish for myself is to not be afraid to do things. I watch videos like yours ( yours is always the best😊) and I get so excited, I even order the matériels and then they sit and are never used. I am about to be divorced from my sweet hubby of almost 39 years if I don’t do something! Please say a prayer for this 57 year old scardy cat! ❤
Wow! Your videos always leave me inspired! Ill be 61 this year and there is so much that I want to learn, painting and art among them (gardening ,too). My difficulty is finding the time to be creative. I find that I get lost when I create and my profession is very time consuming and energy draining. I guess I want to learn balance.

Mention to Ellie that adding some Floetrol will help the paint flow better. Also, ask her what she liked about the shell on the wine glass stem. Perhaps she doesn't like the way it came out because she copied what she saw and she didn't go with what she liked. She needs to go with her intuition.

This year I want to learn to trust my inner art soul (sounds weird I guess 🤪) and to do that, I’ll be spilling it out onto every type of substrate/canvas I can get my painterly hands on! I have been a “light” follower for a few years and have always loved what you do, but right now I finally feel like I’m much more in tune/sync with everything artistic around me and the path you’re on as well! I think that's what stencils were invented for, for people that can't draw and paint. This way we get the pattern and can paint it and still feel that we accomplished our small dream of drawing. What I need to learn this year is more patience. My hand is still messed up from it being in a cast and dr not telling me to move my fingers, My fingers are so stiff still. It's been 6 months. I want to get back to crafting so bad. In the mean time, I watch your videos and it makes me happy.

Really fun, colorful and informative video. I have always wanted to paint children, but not portraits. More about children playing at the beach, on a swing set, eating ice cream, etc. They are active, relaxed and having fun. I do paint landscapes, but learning to paint with brighter colors and in a more relaxed, impressionistic style is what I need to pursue. Thanks for a colorful video!

Debi, I feel such a kindred spirit with you…although our styles may differ your creativity and fearless approach to try is what I love. I remember seeing Donna Dewberry’s painting with her one stroke method in the late 1990s…and was so intrigued that roses and painting became a passion for me…it was so ugly at first and my perfectionist in me struggled…but as I learned to trust myself as an artist, God began to change me and use this to heal me in ways I cannot even begin to tell you…and now 24 years later my work is all over the world…I’m a small cog in this hug artistic world but love what you are doing…and it has inspired me to try new colors and art styles this year…wishing you much success in your painting journey this year!

I'm learning how to create a studio I love in my 12'x24' space at home, after having a 2000 sq ft store. It is an emotional hurdle as much as space management. If I can get myself set up in my room, so that all my many mediums are organized and findable and within reach, I can jump into the mixed media future I know is waiting for me. I've been cleaning and organizing, and today I bought two sets of shelving, and I'm going up right now to get that wall set up and get my materials onto them. I love seeing your progress and colors, Debi! Yay, you!

I actually started my new goal of wanting to learn how to paint just in December! After what I recently remember as one of the most embarrassing moments of my life in college. I always wanted to learn how to draw and paint. I saved a college elective for my last semester to take a Drawing 1 class. I didn't know Drawing 1-4 were all in the same class. The 1st assignment I also discovered all works were hung on the wall to be critiqued by the prof and students. Well let's just say it was mortifying, none of them were kind, which later I realized was because they thought I was just trying to take an "easy" class as a senior. Once the prof and I had a chat and I told him I genuinely wanted to learn it got better, but after that I shelved any hope of being any good at it. Here I am 35 years later. I've painted furniture for years now, but hadn't tried anything like fine art painting. I bought an entire library of tutorials after my 1st one I completed, and am really enjoying taking about an hour or so a day to just relax and create. Some are better than others but I don't care. I'm learning and having fun with them! Never too late to learn!
I have a pink armoire- it was brown wood but I painted it pink. Don’t like it because it’s too flat. This year, I am going to learn how to blend and texture and stencil it like a pro! I love this stencil!

I'm getting excited to set up my new woodworking/paint shop area and begin to learn and buy all the paint and accessories needed. Have some of your paint, but I need more of a variety and the waxes. My plan is to paint a French countryside wall mural in my hallway and frame it with maybe a 5 or 6 inch border so it's very French. I have a small, low profile China cabinet I am going to repair and paint to put in front of it. I just need an electrician to come add a plug on that wall first. Then I am going back to big canvases like when I was in college in the mid '70's. I'm also thinking about trying my hand at water colors. I am also continuing work on my kitchen. I am replacing all the out dated, painted 50 times, cabinets with furniture; dressers, China cabinets, even an entertainment center I rebuilt and painted. I'm loving life!
Oh kove the idea of replacing your cabinets with some mash up of furniture. How fun is that?🎉🎉🎉
@@DebisDesignDiary It is great fun. Everyone a different color scheme. The first on was greens with flower transfers and the second one, not quite finished yet is a buttery color and a light brown with white magnolia transfers. I love your refrigerator and painting it is going on my list!
For Ellies vertical blind, you can tape the top where it clips and repoke the hole.

Blending can really help with creating dimension. You can also shade and add highlights just like you do with canvas painting this can really make a big difference.❤

I’m going to learn how to use an air brush.. which will help me so much with my paper mache Art. And .. I am signed up for a class in-bead stitching (peyote bead style) to try to get some use out of my micro bead collection. Love the art Debbie the colors are so vibrant and wonderful!

I mean this in the kindest most compassionate way…please Ellie don’t accuse your dogs of bad deeds when you get home or they will have anxiety when you return. If you can’t catch them in the bad act at the time to correct them, they have no comprehension of what they did after the fact, only that you are upset with them when you come home which heightens their angst. I’ve been working I fermenting sourdough to start with it’s a huge struggle it’s been almost a month with no success but I’m not giving up working my way homemade yogurt kefir sauerkraut etc at almost 60 years old it’s never to late to learn something new.

Debi, u are not cheating using the stencils. I totally think it's genius! I have done several portraits in pastels and a couple of paintings but have always been partial to abstract bcuz u can't tell if there's any mistakes, lol. Made me feel safe. Your work is gorgeous! I do have a concern regarding your niece's shell wine glass, tho. I understand E6000 is very toxic and shouldn't be around food. Unless using them for decoration, she might want to find a different glue. Other than that, they are beautiful.
