Extraordinary, I admire Bradley James from Merlin, what a beautifully intoxicating romance he has with this so lovely young woman here, in Medici.
IT'S AMAZING 😍😭
I have no words to describe how much I love this, and the way you told their story it's just perfect💞

I am a Renaissance art historian, and this series is as lush and turbulent as the period truly was. The Medieval period (before) was actually more peaceful. Though the Renaissance produced some of our greatest minds and works of art, Italy was not "Italy", but waring city states. The painting of Mars and Venus does still remain (thank God) and was painted many years after the death of Simonetta and Giuliano. The love affair in the series was done so beautifully, but in reality most likely never happened. Historically, much of the events are true. The "Mass" episode is so riveting and gut-wrenching; told with perfection through the cinematography, acting and music. The murder did happen on Easter Sunday, making it all the more shocking and horrendous. I was in Pienza (the home of the Medici in the series) and Florence doing research when the series was filmed. My family background dates back to then, in Florence and Naples. I can't believe I waited so long to watch the series, having been there during the filming!?! As a Renaissance buff from the age of 8, this series really hit home. Not to forget the music soundtrack - it is the exclamation mark of the series. Moving and emotional. It tells a story without pictures or words.
