    Just purchased this saw today.
A table saw does not care how many years of experience you have, neither does an accident. Pay the thousand dollars and get a SawStop.

Although they show the device being used on a Sawstop table saw, which is very cool, they do not mention that this safety device is only available for their Sawstop table saws. Just know that you cannot retro fit this to any other table saw. Just FYI

They deserve every penny they make on this technology, the amount of fingers and potentially lives it has saved has immeaurable value.

Obviously it's only available for their table saws ...fawking captain obvious over here ....that's like pointing out milwaukee batteries are only for milwaukee tools

The Saw Stop is an innovative safety idea but it should not be considered a substitute for
proper training and the use of a blade guard. If the Saw Stop activates it's because you've done something wrong..... A bit like if you run a red traffic light and believe you'll be OK because you've got a good airbag??

So definitely not recommended for slicing up frankfurters?
(Just kidding - we’ve got one - and it is a great saw!)

I love the concept but is there a back up system should there be an electrical fault causing this emergency system to fail.

This is the backup system - your primary safety should be physical guards and proper operation.

Yes, the saw will not turn on if a faulty brake is installed. There’s also a green light indicator to show when it’s working.

Why not use your finger if its so good

Probably there is a chance to fail. Still if it hapens 50/50 it's worth for me not to lose a finger.

It still cuts the finger, which hurts.

I want to see him use his hand if he’s so confident it works. Safe shop practices are the best method to protect your fingers.
