She may be old, but she’s still stronger than a 6 year old, and perfectly capable of taking her phone back on her own. While the police were responding to a call that shouldn’t have been made, real criminals were out there committing real crimes. That call was a complete waste of time for law enforcement. They have more important things to worry about than a 6 year old taking her grandmother’s cell phone.

Had someone call 911 saying this, not joking “there’s a black man on the side of the street just dancing and singing it’s really scary!!” She was screaming at me, I ask “is he in the street?” She says “no! He’s dancing on the sidewalk singing to himself!!” The call ends, I say look we aren’t sending the cops out. Is it weird that he’s doing that? Sure, but is it illegal? NO!! There is always a non-emergency number for the police. She could have been fined in the US as well, though police seem to rarely enforce that law here.

I learned to read at three and my brother learned to read at six. Not that that means too much because obvs we’re just 2 people but only to say plenty of people learn to read from a really young age
What 6 yr old can't read through texts? By the time my grandson was 5 he was videoing himself dancing and being goofy (as 5 yr old do), editing the video and posting it on youtube. Technology is second nature to children from the time they can walk. Wouldn't matter if a 6 yr old did read them - she's 6 and unless it's porn.who cares?

My mother was the same way. It want until 20 years later that we realized she had dementia. She had gone through a windshield in the early 60’s, face first. After she passed in 2015, and things settled down and we could breathe we realized it was dementia.
