Very interesting, I suspect the likes of Hindenburg and Ludendorff and other senior officer proponents. enhanced the stab in the back myth, primarily to protect their own personal reputations. For lower ranks, it’s was probably a just preferable story, not just for their own personal reputation but to justify themselves the horrors they had been through.

Interesting and informative talk other than what seems to be a uniquely American problem, Elbert was head of the social democrat party, not the socialist democrat party, two completely different beasts.

"the first German experiment in democracy" is Spring of Nations(I mean 1848 -49 revolutions in German states) not the Weimar Republic as lector said. It seems like bias of victors: Oh, Kaiser rule was so authoritarian.
Did Germans have their national parliament? Did Germans have different parties in that parlament? Did Germans have different local parliaments? Did Germans have different parties in that parliaments?
Belgian king also had some power unlike Britain's king. So what, he was also authoritarian?
Stop this bullshit. WW1 ended more than 100 year ago, WW2 ended almost 80 years ago, but some people are still under influence of old time war propaganda.
P.S: I should read (even through Google translate) some GErman and French sourses 'cause if I still will read only English and American ones I would think how cool were British(almost everywhere were they were) and would believe that USA enter the war because of Lusitania.
And also I would believe that Germany started WW2 only by herself like there was not Soviet Union with whom Germany started War in Europe in attempt of partitioning of Eastern Europe among themselves.
But fortunately I am from Eastern Europe and we there know what bitch Russia(USSR, Russian Empire no matter how it calls) is.
So, finally, when history will be like science nor propaganda?
