Alhamdulillah
You again?!
@BloggingTheology It's always a pleasure to see you in the comments section, brother.
Consiciousness can only be experienced. For example, if you had a tooth pain. Million Scientists with their Test tube(Deduction/induction via empiricism) can tell you there is no evidence of tooth pain. You will reject their scientific method because you are having direct experience of this pain. I have direct experience of existence. All i know with certainty is my experience ("Cogito Ergo Sum"). I know with certainity that this existence can only come from pre-existing Self-Sufficient/Perfect Existence(Allah the most Exalted).
This is the best exposition of Ibn Arabi's thought I have heard articulated in the English language. Very deep and lucid. Completely puts to rest the uninformed accusation of pantheism or monism on the Shaikh al Akbar. Hopes for more on these matters from the learned speaker.
You should check out ustadh robert darr’s walking to the embrace if you haven’t
I thought i had some brain cells, but listening to Shaykh Hasan, i realise i am nothing, i know nothing
Shaykh Hasan's profound erudition with Shaykh Shadee's ability to make it understandable and ask the right questions was a joy to listen to. This was NBF at its best.
Awaiting for more episodes like this Incha'Allah.
If both Dr Shadee and Shaykh Hasan are gone from twitter I will have very little reason left to follow “Muslim twitter”
Mutual feeling here. Twitter's been taken over by you-know-who & I feel like I waste so much time scrolling, liking, commenting instead of reading books & Qur'an.
explaining your feelings and philosophical thoughts properly is a great skill and feat
This is a spectacular discussion
This was a great convo. Hoping to see you two speak again. Shaykh Shadee, you’re a great translator for Shaykh Hasan :)
WHAT A BANGER
I'm very happy to be guided to this podcast, thank you for all the knowledge, MashaAllah
This is by far the most interesting video I have ever watched in my entire CZcams history. Thank you Safina Society.
Just amazing' will be waiting more like this specialy on sufi experience in detail. ❤
Ibn Arabi is gem of personality through the literature which we read....Modern society has failed to create such personality ..
Jazakom Allah khayran Dr Shadee and Sheikh Hassan. Loved this conversation and it is so good to hear about Ibn Arabi's thought from someone representing the Sunni tradition and not a perennialist because unfortunately many of the great sufi works have been hijacked, translated and twisted by these perennialists.
Would to see more content like this especially covering Islamic metaphysics. I would suggest the works of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and a discussion with a student of his thought. Thank you 😊
The anthropomorphists have hijacked ibn Taymiyyah as the goofy sufis have hijacked ibn Arabi. Traditional Islam must reclaim it's heritage.
GOOOD LORD THIS IS GREAT
Beautiful conversation thank you
Will watch later. It's almost time to get ready for jumaat solat here.
jazakallah khair :)
Serious lecture here mashallah
Whoa.. Subhana'Allah ~ Allah subhana wa ta ala willed existence, and we came forth to know of His Existence .. peel away at the layers Allahu Akhbar.. I'm trying not to get lost..
I was down here the whole discuss went way over my head over there
Terima Kasih.❤
Salams. Are these going to be uploaded onthe podcast? Last one was done in oct 23. I can’t find these on any podcast app
❤❤❤❤❤
Subhanallah
Where does dr shadee el masry answer questions?
MashaAllah- I need subtitles in order to process 😅
The ummah is lost until we restore Ibn Arabi's rightful place as shaykh ul akbar.
وَعَلَيْكُم السَّلَام وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ
15 min and I don’t have a clue on what’s being said lol
how do you differentiate delusional illusions from real mystical experiences?
Do you have either one? Just curious. My understanding is that there are different levels to such an experience. Some can be very clear, like true dreams with little chance of getting it wrong. Another can be a waking vision. I guess this type is rare. Another one is synchronicity (tawafuk) where you get to see a meaningful "coincidence" that gives you a message/reminder. In any case we need to have an "open eye" for such experiences in life. Otherwise there will be many signs around us but due us being closed hearted, we cannot "see" such signs and their messages.
What's important is how one reacts, namely the beliefs and actions one builds upon them. They have to be referreed by the Sharia. When we do that, it doesnt matter what kind of experience we have; we will not go astray bi idhnillah. These are the safety rails. There are other methods of discerning between dhulmani and norrani kashf.
@@SafinaSociety I recommend you read the treatise titled:
“تنبيه الغبي إلى تكفير ابن عربي”
Hafidh Al-Iraaqi, Imaam As-Sakhawi, Imam As-Subki, Imaam Ad-Dahabi, Imam Ibn Taqiiq Al Iid, the great mujtahid Izz ibn Abdisalaam (who has actually met him), and countless other Imams have all condemned the works of Ibn Arabi. In fact, Hafidh Ibn Hajar even entered into a **mubaahala** regarding this matter and he came out fine whilst his opponent perished.
Ibn Arabi is a character of turmoil, I would advise you to not sully your channel with videos dedicated to his “personage”, especially ones that portray him in a good light lest you deceive the people.
@@JohnSmith-rz7fh I recommend you read Imam Suyuti's riposte to the treatise you mentioned, تنبيه الغبي الى تبرئة ابن عربي
@@purekhizi I’ve read Suyuti’s short treatise, and it’s logical entailment is, in essence, that takfeer can be done upon no one. If you found his argument convincing in any capacity, I recommend you read the exquisite response written by Al-Halabi titled “تسفيه الغبي في تنزيه ابن عربي”.
56:42 a lot of the interpretations seems far fetched, "how is the milk a fitrah"? Compared to wine, a substance artificially created by human fermentation, milk naturally occurs in animals. What does a baby naturally drink after it is born?
Shaykh Hasan Spiker wasn't saying milk wasn't the fitra ! He was voicing a common objection to taking symbolism seriously. Alam al-Mithal allows us to take it fully seriously, that was the point he was making.
so basically the ashari position is tafweed of the kayf and not the ma'naa? since they affirm but at the same time do not affirm?
u misunderstood mate
@@YacineSaidi-gt1ju then come forth and explain it

Some of the writings attributed to Sh Sirhindi are considered forgeries. Same with ibn Arabi. Anyways, these concepts are not necessarily beneficial for the awam as they don't understand them.

Safina society you guys always complain about being censored but you guys always censor my comments when I expose y’all…if you were sincere you would keep my comments up…SubhanaaAllah
Who took anything down? and we never complained about censorship. I'm all for censoring kufr and illit adab
@@SafinaSociety okay so you’ve never took any of my comments down? I’m a have husnu dhan…but every time I respond to certain individuals under your comments my comments end up being deleted…if it’s not u guys my bad. And I would never share any kufr eeyazanbillah I just call out your double standards or I call y’all out on some of the Zanadeeqah being promoted by this channel at times and y’all’s subtle attacks on salafies. Wallahul mustaan. I’m salafi maliki myself imam Malik wouldn’t be pleased with a supposed student of his madhab promoting such individuals now would he?
@@Prayformetobeagoodmuslimsalafi Maliki? I’m a square circle
@@PrayformetobeagoodmuslimThey definitely delete comments, I’m pretty sure my response to him regarding the scholars that censured Ibn Arabi have been deleted. It seems as if he doesn’t appreciate the fact that I mentioned that Ibn Hajar Al Asqalaani did a mubaahala with one of the followers of Ibn Arabi regarding Ibn Arabi’s misguidance (his opponent perished within a year)
@@JohnSmith-rz7fh lol i posted many things under this one video in reply to others…that was one of the things i posted that was deleted twice smh 😂 my comments almost every video get deleted it seems this one too bout to be deleted
Spiker is either uninformed or lying about Ibn al-ʿArabī . Spikers article on this same topic was a failure too. Ibn al-ʿArabī knows both a binary and a non-binary understanding of gender. However, these two understandings refer to different levels. When Ibn al-ʿArabī speaks about gender as characteristics of human beings that are expressed in their physiology and behavior, he assumes a nonbinary understanding of gender. We find binarity, on the other hand, where he speaks of masculinity and femininity as ontological principles. Either Spiker doesn't understand this or he does and tries to twist the words of the Shaykh to make him look more in line and alike with conservatives as Spiker.
Uh Oh, looks like @mfb311 is another deluded postmodernist who thinks Ibn Arabi is one of them. Good luck with that one. I've heard this before, and note that no one ever provides any evidence . Non-binary ! What a joke.
What you think you mean by a "non-binary understanding of gender" is actually dealt with very clearly by Spiker, as he says gender is a matrix (or patrix) of *predominant* attributes, not exclusive attributes. But the matrix itself entails a realist account of gender. You lot cannot bear to have anyone question your pathetic blind following of postmodernity - to the extent that in your desperation you make a 13th century Muslim scholar into a follower of Judith Butler. Again, good luck with that one.
You are a shameless lot who insult Ibn al-Arabi and then try to emotionally blackmail everyone into silence because firmly telling you Ibn al-Arabi is not a transgenderist triggers your 'trauma'. Find another target, guys. What you are trying is really not a good idea.
And you know seriously nothing about Ibn al-Arabi if you think that ontological principles do not determine intelligibility on the physiological level.
So you are "non-binary" on gender but you can't be "non-binary" about conservatives and progressives, it's a strict binary for you ! haha. Everything black and white. Ibn Arabi must be either a conservative or a progressive, someone born in the 13th century must be subject to distinctions that developed after the French Revolution. HAHAHAHA.
