Kristin Hannah writes really good historical fiction! I really liked The Nightingale!!
I did read that one from her too!
This video popped up when I was scrolling last night and I have to say I loved all your recommendations!! I have had such a hard time finding HF recs that aren’t WW2 setting so I love that you included so many other time periods. You also are great at explaining books. Subscribed! 😊
Awww yay thank you so much for saying that and for clicking and watching! 🥰❤️
So glad I found your channel because I love historical fiction 🌈 You gave me some great titles to read.
Ahhh yay thank you so much, so glad you found this video too 🥰💖
You’re very good at describing these books! I love that you’re talking about historical fiction books! It seems like most book tubers only talk about contemporary romance and fantasy romance (which there is nothing wrong with) but it’s nice to see different books talked about ❤
Thanks so much for watching! I love so many other genres honestly and it’s fun to share other favorites. ❤️
🌈 So many good recs! Thank you and Tori for doing this video!
Thanks so much for watching!
I love these recommendations thank you for sharing these great books with us!
Oh yay I’m so glad! Thanks for watching.
Hi Christie - I enjoy your channel very much and am so impressed by the breadth of all that you read! Thank you for all your content. I second Amy Harmon's What the Wind Knows as a magical read. Since you enjoyed the pack horse book you rec'd I thought you might want to check out Carry the World by Susan Fanetti. It's actually a historical romance rather than historical fiction that tells the story of a young widow's experience as a pack librarian who encounters a widower with two young children along her route. It's a beautiful story and feels very immersive in the time period.
Thanks so much for watching! And oooh that one sounds so good and I do love historical romance. Can’t wait to check it out, thanks so much for the rec!
I’m adding both Amy Harmon books to my TBR!
Yay, hope you enjoy! I just found out both are available on KU with the read and listen feature, so you get the audiobook if you download it on KU. I might be rereading them soon myself lol
Thanks! I don’t have a kindle but I checked and my local library has copies available 😊
@katehenry9497 even better! Hope you enjoy ❤️
I love historical fiction and enjoyed this video. I have only read 3 on your list so I will be checking out the others. New here and just subscribed!
Oh yay, hope you enjoy the ones you pick up!
Ooh really interested in Where the Lost Wander, I love learning about the Oregon Trail!
Oooh yay I hope you love it too! It’s one of hers I don’t see talked about often.
Love Taylor Jenkins Reid books! The Four Winds is amazing!
Love her books so much! Do you have a fav from TJR? And yay, so glad you loved The Four Winds too 🤩
@christireadsalot My favorite that I have read so far is Malibu Rising, but Carrie Soto is Back is on my January TBR.
@@taratalksbooksnice! I liked that one too, hope you enjoy Carrie Soto
such a fun list!!
Thanks so much for watching Laura! This was a fun one to do 💙
Boy in the striped Pajamas, the Kite Runner are really good. 🌈
Oh yes I have actually read those both years ago!
I just finally read Carrie Soto at the end of last year and I loved it so much more than I thought I would!💛
Yay I am so glad. I feel like it’s an underrated one from TJR but actually so good!
I’m eating up all these recs! Any plans on making a historical fiction rec video that are available on KU or scribd?
Oooh that is a good idea! I know for sure the Alice Hoffman ones I chat about in here are on kindle unlimited, which I was pleasantly surprised with! I might need to read some more and do some more research to do another video like that! I’ll report back lol 🤩
New to watching. I look forward to reading some of your recommendations 🎉
Thanks for watching!
Oooo magic lessons sounds so good.
Soooooo good! 🤩
I keep putting Lone Women on so manny tbr’s I need pick it up.
Ahhh it’s such a good one, I loved the vibe of it!
I feel like I'm going to binge Kristin Hannah. I'm on a second book of hers and love them. ❤
Oh yay! Which 2 have you read? Her newest book, The Women, is top tier and so so good. Probably my favorite from her!
Christi, I recommend you read, Her Heart for a Compass (Buccleuch Family, #1) and A Most Intriguing Lady (Buccleuch Family, #2) by Sarah Ferguson The Dutchess of York. These are books based on her ancestors.
Oooh yes I did hear about those books she was doing!
@@christireadsalot I believe she is working on book 3 of the series.
My favorite historical fiction book of 2023 was Go As A River by Shelley Read. Also seeing as you liked the pack horse library story try The book woman of troublesome creek...... 5 star for me
Thanks for the rec, I will check out the Shelley Read one. I did read The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek and sadly didn’t like it.
I love Amy Harmon loved What The Wind Knows have to read from Sand and Ash
Where the Lost Wander from her is so good too, I need to read From Sand and Ash as well
@@christireadsalot I will read them both
The Amy Harmon books are read and listen free with KU!
Oooh I didn’t realize that, that is amazing! 😍
Historical fiction is my fave! Giver of Stars was so good! Kate Quinn is my favorite! I am so excited for her new book this year.
Aww yay I’m so glad! Yes to Giver of Stars, it had me captivated from the first page! Oooh Kate Quinn is one I see a lot, do you have a fav from her?
@@christireadsalot My favorite was The Rose Code, which is about the women that did the enigma code breaking in England during WW2. My other fave is The Diamond Eye which is about a Russian sharp shooter in WW1.
@@Notable2Nikkioooh that first one sounds super interesting, I’m going to look it up now! Thanks for the rec!
Hi, I would like to recommend a historical fiction book with a supernatural twist. Joyce Carol Oates The Accursed. It takes place in Princeton NJ in the early 20th century and has fictional ties to Woodrow Wilson, Mark Twain and Grover Cleveland. Its unique and people hear supernatural and say they won't like it but that part makes the story more interesting. Stephen King liked it too!
Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll check it out! Sounds good and I love a supernatural vibe
❤📚❤️ Great recommendations.
I enjoyed Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan in 2023.
Thanks so much for watching! Ooh I will check that one out, thanks for the rec.
