"The Majin Buu Saga (魔人ブウ編, Majin Bū Hen, lit. "Majin Boo Arc") is the fourth major plot arc from the Dragon Ball Z series. The manga volume that it is made up of is "Boo Unleashed". In the Funimation dub's naming conventions for the English language release of the anime, the Majin Buu Saga is broken up into six sub-sagas: the Great Saiyaman Saga, the World Tournament Saga, the Babidi Saga, the Majin Buu Saga, the Fusion Saga, and the Kid Buu Saga."

For as much as people dismiss this development on behalf of Akira Toriyama, this saga had just about everything in the form of suspense and plot. At least for a short while before Super Buu
It was good on them to introduce a villain who does combat unconventionally. Like we have villainy in the form of Vegeta, but Buu was definitely different. Turning Dabura into a cookie, ripping off pieces of himself, you just wanted to see more of what traditional marital arts could do against that
In fact, one of the most memorable scenes in all of Z is watching Vegeta absolutely cripple Fat Buu before dusting a hole right through him. And then Buu gets that get back by pummeling Vegeta on the floor
It would be one thing if all he could coil around him, but even in this form, he was mercing our boy Vegeta with heavy blows
I think where Z truly fell off is having Buu absorb others for a boost and warranting fusion as the best bet for unbridled strength. Gone are the days of grinding it out in the woods. Things are implied that Goku and Vegeta obtained mastery off screen. No wonder Gohan's untapped potential seemed anticlimactic. No one earns the privilege any more
Yeah, when Gohan went SSJ2 against Cell, it was like a complete psychotic break. This was no longer Gohan, this was a monster. He just would give that psychotic cold stare, tearing them limb from limb in the manga. Can't blame him for what happened, Goku was boutta kill Gohan just from going SSJ the first time and doomed himself letting Frieza go 100%, and giving him ki? Bruh, not him

The only time other than the "You Fool!" scene that the anime gets the original Kamehameha color that I know of. And sadly it was underwhelming. Yellow Kamehameha actually look cooler to me if they are done right.

Had Vegeta not knocked out Goku, they may have been able to stop Buu together. Fat Buu is technically stronger than Kid, and a spirit bomb might have been less effective, but who knows.
