The greatest quality Prithviraj has is the way he speaks and his deep knowledge about cinema. You can understand how good he is when you see his interviews , the stands he has, his viewpoints all are crystal clear. You cannot find anyone like him in any other industry. He is the definition of maturity. He had many goals several years ago like to be a director, own a production company etc. and he was trolled a lot when he expressed all these in interviews. But he replied everyone through his works and time proved everything. He is really a gem of a person and a great inspiration for the youth.
You will get to see what you wish to see from Prithviraj in the Anjaly Menon directed 2018 movie Koode where he plays a really vulnerable character. It's a beautiful movie.

Did you noticed one thing? 17:40 The lion king theme was used at last and that begins with the potrait of late actor Sukumaran in the frame. He is the father of prithvi. Sukumaran was a firebrand lion of late 80s and 90s whose biggest dream was to direct film. But he passed away before the dream come true. He is actually completing his father's dream and vision. Actually prithviraj and his attitude you see today is the character upheld by Sukumaran from that time itself. That's why that theme was used in the backdrop. Son of Lion..... The king..... The fire......
He doesn't "Pretend" to be diplomatic like some other actors. People thought he was so arrogant due to his matured character, straight forward attitude & long view point & they mocked at him. Later his career proved that he is genuine & real.
He had done powerful manly character in his 21 age. 🔥🔥
Even when he debuted (at 19 or something) he portrayed really matured and manly characters. Honestly even I didn’t know he was that young back then. I always assumed him to be elder than or in the same age group as jayasurya, kunchacko boban, etc😅

Main reasons why people criticised him for being arrogant.
He came into Malayalam cinema when there was only 2 super stars ( Mohanlal and Mammooty) and lot of small stars ( Kunjakko,Suresh Gopi, Dileep,Jayaram etc)
So basically he was considered as an opponent for them.
On top of that, in an interview he said that Malayalam industry needs more young stars like me and big stars (big Ms) should choose roles which are apt for their age.
This was the most controversial statements at that time.
He was too straight forward who just convey his ideas without fearing anyone.
So audience began to downgrade him and his films. So he lost all his oppurtunties in the film field - that was the literal "ban" used in this video.
Even after his comeback, people tried to troll him and his statements. Amidst of all the haters, he proved he was right. He did everything he said. Even now, his foresight are quite accurate ( like the prediction of ott even before corona).
He did the unthinkable. Its very difficult to act against the public and to succeed.
Also, i would admire the audience also for accepting their mistake. That is also a good thing. He turned all his haters to fans including the above mentioned Mohanlal and Mammootty fans. I think thats the key here.

Prithviraj was trolled because he was being him!.. He didn't sugar coated words nor wore a mask of good guy like other actors do. He expressed his words clearly fearing none. So he was labelled arrogant and was hated by many. He was even trolled for speaking English better than others!.. Can you believe it?.. He once told in a distant future people will enjoy their favourite actor's movie in ott platforms without even going to theatre. Films may solely released at ott platforms alone. Then people laughted hard at him. But now, you know the scene.
He had many haters. More than admirers to be precise. But now it's completely opposite. People call him Rajuvetta now.What i loved about Prithviraj is that he still haven't changed a bit. He still express his views without any fear. But the difference is he made the audience evolve upto his level. He didn't changed. He made the audience change! There maybe different opinions about him being a great actor like Fafa and all. But he is unarguably an important pillar of Malayalam film Industry. He is Indeed a game changer of Malayalam Industry.

Earlier he used to criticize Superstars straight..Now he tries to appease fans of Mohanlal and Mammootty every now and then..
Apart from his 'Lakshadweep tweet',I dont find him taking stands now..Ya he is an important pillar for sure..But he changed a lot 👍

One of the best movie of him.
Those who says he is overrated are his haters, which he has so many. He is not overrated or underrated. He has made a space for himself in this industry with his hard work. You can say once he was the most hated actor in this industry. He was banned because he did a movie with a banned director, vinayan. He told at the time that nobody can Ban someone's creativity. He was merely 22 or 23 at that time and people at the top of the association put a ban on him because he took a different stand and he stood by that. People still hate him because of his stands in various social and political things. All of his fan where once his hater.
I usually criticise his acting. You cant say that a person who says that he is overrated is his hater.
I personally dont like his acting, and I will stick on to it..I only liked his acting in AK and Driving license in his recent movies.
This doesnt mean that I hate him.. I love his passion for films.
Fafa still will be my favourite new generation actor in terms of acting, and Mohanlal will remain as the best actor in Malayalam for me.
But I would change it if I feel that Prithviraj acts better than both of them in his future movies... I am a movie lover, and I hate no one personally

@@shaanfahad615 According to me, he is overrated.. People use to say that he is the game changer of malayalam cinema..But I think he was a part of it by doing movies like Mumbai police, memories etc.
I also think that he has limitations while doing comedy/realistic acting.
What I was trying to say in the above comment is that not everyone who criticise his acting are his haters.
Actually, I like his political ideologies. But its sometimes unbearable for me to watch his performance..For eg: Thejabhai and Coldcase.

People tend to like those who are seemingly humble, don't ask questions/ express themselves. On account of his forthright nature, Prithviraj faced difficulties. But he has shown that it is possible to succeed on one's own terms, without compromising on being your own person.
'Ayalum Njanum Thammil' (2012) is one of his career best movies, undoubtedly after so much hatred he faced from the audience, this movie was his biggest comeback as an actor. If you get time, please watch the movie, it's a wonderfully directed movie with a strong script, amazing performances and great music!

The growth of Prithviraj from an actor to a star was very fast. For Malayalam Film viewers, they were not ready to accept accept someone new and young to the role of a star/hero which is usually only played by actors such as Mohanlal, Mammootty and Suresh Gopi till then. Also, his way of speaking his mind straight forward was not something the viewers have experienced before from other actors. So he got labelled as arrogant.
He really is an outstanding personality and good inspiration . I personally like him a lot for his courage to tell and stand by the beliefs/opinions he had honestly without even thinking about the after effects. Eventually the same people who mocked him got matured and started applauding for him. He didn't change but the people did, that's truly commendable.

THE REASON WHY PRITHVIRAJ GOT BANNED was he assosiated (acted ) in the movie directed by Vinayan (the director shown here in this specified time frame 14:29 of the video... and this director had made the elderly actor Thilakan act in his movie and Thilakan had a issue with the senior actors and altogather the director had a issue with the producers..distributers nd the technical workers of cinema governning bodies and they banned this director.. the actors Thilakan and Prithviraj for talking against the dominancy of senior actors... Though its thilakan 11:23 that talked.. prithvi got involved as he associated with the director and the other actor

I live in Pune, in 2002, Chengannur Theatre, along with my parents I saw a movie Nandanam. That was when I liked him. I never understood the criticism and ban. Yes some movies fail, soome work but Prithviraj will always Raj in Malayalam cinema.
