Does snow removal damages the road and sidewalks surfaces a lot in Hokkaido or are they very delicate and careful with the machinery that they don't damage much?

I think there is only a little damage. A little bit, really.
However, all the heavy equipment was scraping away the snow from the very edge, so there was almost no damage.

Here in my city in Canada the roads, sidewalks and urban furniture often get damaged during winter and it is a problem. 🫤
