Thank you for watching.
That fence looks quality and I’ve never seen that bit you put on the top, it really makes it look good. Good stuff as usual 🙂👍
Wish I had a fraction of your energy! My visits to the chiropractor has indicated that I need to do 5 hours a day instead of the 8 or 10. So I’ve had a day off as it’s Father’s Day - enjoyed the family and going out for Sunday Lunch. Now relaxing watching my favourite CZcams channel. You guys are just great and like some other channels have made a major contribution to upping my DIY standards - now if you just send me your Duracells I must just get enough energy to carry on. Great vid and thanks for the time to film/edit and post. Kindest regards Mike 👍🏻
Ah thank you, Mike. Yet again! Hope you've had a great day mate, take care.
Thanks for the hole tip , you are a mine of information 😂, as for the hole with the old fence post I’d have just moved it over 🤣
Haha! Fair play, I counted three jokes there! Nice one!
@@mrabuilders6723 3 jokes , purely accidental , I’m not that sharp ! Hole and mine just noticed haha 👍
@chrismajor69 haha! You're sharper than you think! Whereas I'm not as sharp as I think I am!!!
Looks great, I thought each nail should only go through 1 board to prevent boards from splitting when they expand and contract. As soon as Rich left you went crazy with that nail gun. 😉😊
A 25mm 16g couldn't split Kelly Brook from Ann Widecombe!
Disaster! I've watched all your videos now! I guess I'll have to go back to watching Mr Carpet until you release a new video... 😭
Use the quary tiles as your work top on outdoor kitchen would make it hard wearing and durable
Great video Ads!!
I Agree with Phil! Was going to say the same thing 💪🏼 they’ll look great and create a nice feature/contrast
Not a bad idea at all mate! Thank you!
Thank you, Jack. Yes mate, it's a great idea isn't it!
Quality job it will last for years, the finished garden makeover should look great. All the best.
Fingers crossed, Keith! Cheers mate, take care.
Dad was a builder and his garden was always like this until he retired!
I can definitely relate, mate. Hope you're well.
I think I would struggle to find a more chaotic mess as that at 2:05. It literally puts me on edge just looking at it.
What an insightful comment.
11:10 when you replace your tape measure unn curl it fully and spray it with silicone lubricant spray as you retract it back in.
My current stanley classic 5m powerlock is used each day and over 10 years old, the silicone spray helps stop dust and dirt adhering and water rusting it. It gets sprayed about once a month. Indeed the powerlock tape I had before was even older and only replaced because a light fingered plumber stole it.
Looks like my garden😔😟😟
Have you ever renovated your own house whilst working?
@Tom-hl7wc Yes but I like things tidy, I would rather make slower progress and have things neat than work in chaos.
Loving the own home stuff. Also nice to hear riches voice is back 😂
Haha! You may be the only one who noticed that! Cheers mate, take care.
As said before, BRILLIANT JOB, nothing wrong with OTT, BEST BUILDER. on CZcams.
Ahh cheers mate! Really appreciate that. Hope you're well mate.
Lovely job. The simple spacer you made for positioning the featherboard was brill 👌
Thank you, Michael. Glad you found it useful! Hope you're well,.mate.
Your first attempt to pronounce it was pretty much spot-on, buddy. It's definitely a pagoda, and yeah, you got it pretty much spot on. It's great to see some progress on the garden, and I'm looking forward to more updates from there and, of course, the basement build. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a new video on that this Sunday, but either way, I'll be happy! 🎉🙂
Thank you, Captain! Don't worry, there will be a new video every Sunday...where from though....you'll just have to wait and see!
@mrabuilders6723 If there is a new video to watch, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'll be watching! 😁 It's great to see a local (I live in Birmingham) firm thriving. Your work is exceptional, and your videos are top-notch. Here's to many, many more.
There was me thinking that I would watch this video and at the end would be the final reveal 😁 At 35.15 the lady walking past had a double take probably wondering why Brad Pitt was building a fence...
Sorry mate! This is going to be a series of episodes that will be few and far between as I'm only doing it after work and the odd weekend. What that lady actually said was "jesus, Dean Gaffney has let himself go"....
I built my log store with hit and miss boarding fixed either side of the main frame. It's draughty as anything but dry, ideal for seasoning logs. (I also used Spanish slate for the roof because I detest roofing felt and don't like doing jobs twice.
You definitely need to speak to fellow youtuber matty from brockstone landscapes. He's seems a great chap and sure he'd give you advice on cutting porcelain and what blades and buffers to us. He cuts most of his slabs with a normal stihl grinder even mitres. All i can suggest dont bother going with sleepers as a raised flower bed, as a gardener myself for nearly 20yrs, no matter what you try to protect the wood on the inside they will still rot faster then you think, far to much moisture in flowerbeds. Matching brick to the chimney stack instead would give better continuity to the garden, I know labour intensive but cheaper in the longterm. Looking forward to see how this progresses.
Great video. I'm glad Rich turned up to help out and get the fence done and dusted. Your future plans are sound.
You and me both! Cheers mate, take care.
Considering it’s a job to fill a gap, what a gap filler that’s going to look like!
Container sounds a brilliant idea but nothing surprising there.
Always have great ideas! I hope you get to relax in it eventually with the gorgeous dog.
Thank you, Don! Hopefully it'll all look when it's done! Thanks again, mate.
Hey I first tuned into you building your fireplace and have been watching since! 😾😼😽😸😺😻
Haha! Nice one, mate! Thank you for sticking around!
Your missus would probably like circular uplights along the path. You’ve got an external socket in the corner which could be a power source for them. You could add a switch in the kitchen to power them on and off. It means when it’s dark the careen can be lit up with the kinda mood lighting woman seem to like
I'm hearing ya, mate! I'll put it forward to the one person committee and see what happens!
@@mrabuilders6723we’ve all got a boss!
Can't wait to watch this week episode and have a great weekend guys
Nice one, Steve! Hope you enjoy it mate. Take care.
CT1. God's blessing to builders!
Haha! You may be right!
Can't wait 👍
Hope you enjoy it, Dale. Have a great day, mate.
Raised planters with the sleepers 👌🏻
Top vid, many thanks
No worries at all, Tony! Thank you for watching.
Just managed to catch up. Was busy working yesterday. Great episode showing what can be done so far. Pergola is what you're trying to say. I think😂. Definitely turf. Waiting on the outdoor kitchen, perhaps the quarry tiles for that area. Love a long episode. Welldone👏
Thank you, Ian. Hope you're well mate.
It's going to be lovely when done
Here's hoping!
Great job as usual, don’t forget cables for lighting and perhaps a water feature? Including some fancy lights built into your steps. Somewhere where you can sit down and chill after a hard days work. You guys deserve it. Love watching your videos I find them really informative and helpful. Please continue to produce them😊
Hello Keith, hope you're well. Yes mate, I do love a LED strip or two! I'll definitely be incorporating them somewhere. Cheers, mate. Really appreciate your support. Take care.
Looking forward to seeing the end result.
Brilliant outdoor kitchen I will save the episode for when I finally start mine.
Cheers Pat! Hope you're well, mate and having a great day.
Great content Adam very informative thanks
Cheers, Peter.
lovely job buddy. your a better fencer than zorro
Haha! I like that one! Fair play!
Your fence looks super strong and that top capping really finishes it off.
Thank you, Steve. It's come out ok I reckon! The capping is great isn't it! Hope you're having a great day, mate.
Top video mate
Thank you, Chris. Hope you're well mate.
looking forward to this .... hope you and the lads had a good week ? .....
Not bad at all, thank you Lee. We started a new job that'll be on the channel soon. How was your week, mate?
Yassss something decent 👌🏻😊
Haha! Let's hope you're saying that after you've watched it!
@@mrabuilders6723 well I’m doing my garden just now with sleepers and the sleepers look great but the path runs up down up down so now I need to rip the path up and fix it, because my ocd won’t let me leave it 🤣
Oh no! Keep breathing and ploughing forward!
@@mrabuilders6723 the joys 🤣🤣
love your sense of humour, really enjoy watching
Cheers, Terry! Hope you're well, mate.
Great stuff as always Adam! One good channel to watch is Brockstone Landscaping, you can get some idea of the kit that they use and some other ideas if you need them. I landscaped my garden and one thing I learned was, don’t rush into it, have a bit of a plan and cogitate over it. I’m looking forward to next week, sorry I was a bit late watching this one, life got in the way! 😃
Hello Simon, hope you're well mate and having a great week. Apologies for not getting back to you sooner! What can I say, the sun has been out!!! Thank you once again for your support, mate. Take care.
Tidy bit of fencing 👍
Cheers, mate.
Hi if you put the container on the opposite side not near fence and have the parking space next to new you could put a roor coming of container over car parking space. I have just put in raised bed in my garden. I put them on concrete plitlnth and 3 8x2 treated timber on top looks very good and easy on the back when gardening.
Now then, John....that's a great idea....
Nice work mate
Cheers, Phil! Hope you're well, mate.
The plan sounds great!!
Definitely put some sort of lighting, avoid path lights that are in the pathing as they never last, nice bit of led strip along the raised beds in a overhang channel and some on the pergola too! Will look stunning. Can’t wait to see it finished
You and me both! It's going to take a while though, I can only do it in the evenings! Lighting is a definite yes! Just got to work out where. Cheers mate. Take care.
Great video as always, looking forward to seeing the finished garden. That bottom diagonal bracing on your gate would send my OCD crazy! For me it should match the top one and start on the hinge side 😂
Don't say that!!! I end up looking at it and that will be that!!!
@@mrabuilders6723 good job I mentioned it then haha!
Tidy job!
I say put a shipping container in the road and have a secret driveway through the middle 😂 several friends have had porcelain tiles and some are more slippery than others... I'm not an expert so just to mention.
Oh and finally I did see quite a bit of dust, the missus got mega excited. I've got her on standby ready for the nod 😊
Optic!!! How are you mate! Your messages always make me laugh! Tell the Mrs that there are plenty of dusty jobs coming up, she can go full Hinch anytime she wants! Cheers man, hope you're both well.
@@mrabuilders6723 doing well thanks for asking.
She'll be ecstatic to hear that, to be honest I'm not sure what she would do unless she had the knowledge that dust was on its way 🤗😁
Keep up that great content but remember to avoid the use of any dust extraction or vacuum products 😜
Just so you know shipping containers actually exceed the permitted height to eaves of 2.5m so you do need to get planning. They are 2.56m if I remember correctly. There are minimum distances they can be placed to boundaries as well. Might save you in the long run from a complaint.
Yes mate, that will all be explained in future episodes.
I would never presume to give you advice, lovely job so far. However you've have to build a Pizza oven and a BBQ maybe a bar as well with draught beer on tap. 🤣🤣. I need to look back at your flat roof build as I am going to do something similar with my garage sometime. Keep up the good work.
Haha! Beer on tap....now then...
Speak to Henry at Elite Stone Tools for grinder blades etc. He'll sort you.
Ah! Nice one, mate. Thank you.
Honestly mate, don't mess with the Porcelain tiles, just get a pro tiler in to do it. The tiles are expensive and the good kit to work with them even more so. The guy who did my floors said that the hand tile cutter he was using was nearly £1k and I can believe that judging by the some of the prices I've seen on some of the Marcrist tools I've seen at my local tile supplier. You've got to ask yourself 'am I going to make money with tool'
Cheers mate.
I'll watch tonight when I get back from work
Will give me something to do before watching House of the Dragon 😁
Is that on tonight??? Ace!!!
@@mrabuilders6723 2am for the simulcast, otherwise 9pm tomorrow evening 👍
@therealdojj BOOM! Cheers mate!
@@mrabuilders6723well, that's a good plan that is, didn't realise the garden was so big until I saw the drone footage 😮
Sounds like a modern garden refurbishment. As your building the outdoor kitchen yourself why don’t you use the quarry tiles as a kitchen worktop with lime pointing which would keep it original to the house and the original place it came from?
Last time I saw a pair of legs like that ,they were on a dining table 😅
Whoa....I've never been anywhere near your dining room table!
Hi bud, another great vid. Ive just built an outside 'kitchen' on the wife's insistence, timber framed cupboards with a BBQ in the middle all on castors, quite chuffed myself. Now trying to think of uses for your sleepers. Looking forward to next week to see what you guys come up with.
Oh yes!!! The Stath!!! How are the bees? Nice one on the kitchen! Fair play to you, hopefully you'll be able to use it if the weather gets better! There won't be another video from here for a little while because I can only work here after work and the occasional weekend, so please bear with me on that one! Cheers mate, hope you're well.
Hi Adam, happy daddy day 😊 weapon of choice for me is 8 cans of Cruzcampo cans donated by my daughters and a bowl of wings with Jack Daniel’s bbq sauce 😂 👍 thanks for vid before the footie 🙌
Niiiice!!!!! Save a couple for the football, mate. Or just buy more! Enjoy!
Going to have to watch this in two parts due to the footy 👍👍
Fair enough mate, hope you enjoy it!
I’ve used that weed killer, it kills everything, good stuff 👍
It's quite something isn't it!
Rosate 360, superb weed killer, kills everything it touches but...takes 2 weeks for the weeds to die back. That container you bought will last you a life time if it's the concentrated stuff.
Think you have been watching D&J projects 🤣 fence looks great
Haha! I haven't, honest!!!
@@mrabuilders6723 🤣🤣 I believe you 😉
Love the videos just one comment i noticed you have not removed all the tape from the windows if we finally get a summer the sun will bake the tape onto the frames and will make it very difficult to remove. Looking forward to the next video
Looking fantastic bet that cost a bit in materials fencing gears no cheap.
Thank you, Peter. It was about £900 I think mate.
Could cut them sleepers in half length ways and use as the posts for your pergola depending on thickness and length, Just a thought
That's definitely a contender, I've just got to see another idea through first...
The ok coral
Eh???
Adam - the weedkiller you have bought is the canine's testicles! have been using Roseate for years - it has got quite expensive but it does what it is supposed to do. Nick
It's nuclear level isn't it! Hope you're well, mate.
Keep the local 'plantsmen' out - very wise!
I really like the chimney Brest ! Was that the original or did you build it yourself? Love to see more details please if you can. Cheers!
I built it mate, it's all part of the extension that I built. All the details are within the Builder Destroys His Own Home series on our channel. The link is in the description. Cheers pal.
I laid astro turf from Amazon with an underlay on my patio and it means no cutting or weeds and it's great to walk on and safe for pets and kids. Something to think about?
Nice fence and good video would the neighbors be okay with shipping container there
You’re gonna plug that hole! Right!👹
Haha! You know what, no! A little reminder that we all make mistakes isn't a bad thing!
Nice fencing.. Have you considered a low gabion wall for your borders with a wooden decking top ... just a suggestion ??
Cheers, Poddy!
Hi Adam great video as usual. Question where was the lock for the side gate from ?
That gate lock looks amazing. Link please? Thanks Adam.
Moon Man! How are you mate? Hope you're well. The link to where I bought it from is in the description mate, but I'll try and find a direct one and get it to you.
@@mrabuilders6723 cheers Adam and team. All good here. Loving the Sunday updates as per usual! 40K subs! Bring on 100K guys!! 💪🏾
CT1 is a hybrid polymer, exactly the same as Stixall that's around a fiver cheaper.
If & when you get to relax, in what sounds like what's going to be a fantastic garden , do yourself a favour & despite others' comments, get artificial grass. It is so much easier to maintain/practical with the doog/kids, giving you time to relax.
Do the base yourself to save money & if you can avoid a joint you can fit the grass too, again saving money. But if you need a joint please get a pro to do(no disrespect) as it's this that makes or break the lawn.
Best thing I've ever done in iur garden & I've had both & im in a similar situation ie kids, dog, lack of time etc
What about using the quarry tiles for the front path etc.?
Now then!!! That's an idea!!! Leave that one with me...

Excellent, Jake! Thank you very very much!
P-E-R-G-O-L-A.....;)
What's the best thing to stop weeds growing through cracks between the tiles please mate?
Hello Joe, hope you're well mate. There are all sorts of membranes that you can get, for me personally though the jury is out for all of them. I'll go over it in future episodes, mate.
Great video, the level is no longer available through the link, can you please give me the name/ model of the one you have👍

And I wanted to be first one in🤪

Why do people park over your drive? Is it because the kerb has not been dropped. (Curious)
Annoyingly there's a drop curb and a solid white line! Why they do it however, I don't know!
Can we talk about fence heights please???
Should it be 1 metre high????
When does a front garden become a back garden? I’m also a corner plot.
Anything higher than 2m that's next to a highway needs planning permission.
Not a clue.
@@mrabuilders6723is that including your wall???

@mrabuilders6723 tilers tools they have everything you will need have you got your slabs yet ?
@robdixon786 nice one, mate. No, I haven't.
Did you mean a Pergola?
I've got to be honest, Alan...I have no idea what I meant!
I think I would lay those old tiles under the pergola area and if any are left insert 4 s diamond shaped into the upper paved area near the patio doors.
are them gates cheaper with holes in ?
They're lighter, that's for sure!
Not sure you've already shown it, but did you get a new tv unit ? As the other one was too long.
Well remembered, Dale! Yes I did, from the same place. They were great, gave me a 20% discount for the inconvenience, delivered it, just ace.

@user-ey8vh8ei2n oh right!!! Haha! Fair play, well noticed! Let's just say that he's achieved his "helping his Dad for 5 minutes" badge! Cheers mate, hope you're well.
I suggest you use a decent astro turf instead of grass Adam. Easy to maintain/ clean ,especially with having a dog. Hard to tell from the drone footage but I reckon half the proposed grass area wouldn't see any sun over winter ( not we get any) ,it would end up full off moss
The plants in the garden would suffer from not having anything living in the grass to pollinate them.
Hmmmm...I'm not totally convinced on that stuff...is it that good?
