Good instructional video. Ive seen people do this the wrong way every time. The last thing you want is your reefer falling off the dolly because you didn't strap it right. . Always use two people for this. Attempting this by yourself is asking for trouble.

There's another vid that shows how fridges aren't always centered with their weight---some being heavier in the front. In which case, you have to adjust the hand truck/dolly accordingly, after you've got it placed under the fridge, by moving the hand truck toward the front of the fridge just a bit. Thus you ensure the fridge weight is centered on the hand truck. I think shoulder straps and not a hand truck are the way to go if stairs are involved. Apparently the straps are only $40 at Home Depot.

dolly upstairs or downstairs in general, the load faces downstairs from you. going up, pull it up one step at a time. going down, push it down one step at a time, but as it goes off the edge of the step, pull back some so it goes down more slowly and controlled. if you need to pause in either direction, just be completely on a step and don't let go too much.

You mean if you rented the wrong truck? Yeah, don't do that. They're pretty clear which rentals come with a ramp or don't. 15' and up have a ramp. But if you want to be a cheapskate over the $10 price difference between the 10 footer and the 15 footer well you do you and be cheap like that. Whatever, have fun with that frugal nonsense. lol, 10 bucks difference is nothing today! It's 19.95 vs 29.95. oh the horror, the horror! That's too expensive for you! Wear & tear, replacing the belt when they wear out. I used to have a carpet shampooer that everyone knew about and everyone wanted to borrow. One day it didn't work when I needed it. Called the person who'd last used it "ooh, it worked fine the whole time I was using it!" Uh huh, sure. That's why they charge you, nobody wants to pay if it breaks. I never lend my new carpet shampooer to anyone.

    • @ButterfatFarms

The same reason you have to pay to rent the truck. They aren't running a charity. They're running a rental business. It ain't just trucks. It's everything else you'll need to move too as well as storage units. You pay for what you need. Why should the rest of us have to pay even more because every truck comes with a complimentary hand truck and a dolly to suit you? You think the rental price of the truck would remain the same if they did that? NO. If i don't need a dolly why should i be paying inflated truck prices to provide for someone like you who does? lol, No thanks! You pay for it, you need it.
