Sarah, a pastor from central Illinois, experienced what she calls her “Holy Spirit awakening” at the New Room Conference.
She had always known the Holy Spirit, but the moment she realized how accessible He was to her, she remarks, “It’s as if scales fell from my eyes, and I could see the Holy Spirit with me in a brand new way.”
Please pass this on so that all will know that the Holy Spirit is available to them today!

The Holy Spirit is a He -
not an IT!! HE is the third person of the Trinity!
Every single person who is born again or born from above and given eternal life as a gift has the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of them! John 3-
It is not some special revelation!!
it is God dwelling, guiding, illuminating His Word and inside His people!

Your bitterness can be felt through your comment.
Don't let it grow or you might become a toxic individual.
She speak with her heart, how she was driven by the Spirit and responding to his calling.
Your words are driven by disapproval and bitterness.
Oh and by the way, she said "HE" not "it".

The "dwelling, guiding, illuminating" work of God, especially His impartation of the Holy Spirit, is precisely "special revelation."
As A NEW TESTAMENT BIBLICAL THEOLOGY by G. K. Beale says on pg. 135 (paragraph 2):
      "Specifically, God’s special revelatory
presence in the form of the Spirit will no longer be located in the holy of
holies of Israel’s temple but instead will break out of its architectural shackles
in the eschaton and spread throughout the earth. The true temple and true
place of worship and true worshipers can be found wherever the extending
form of God’s holy of holies presence in the Spirit goes and among whoever
is included in its sphere.12 Consequently, wherever a true believer is, there also
is the Spirit, as John 7:37-39 affirms."
Now, if you're thinking: "but that's my point!", I agree with you. I'm not disputing your point. I'm disputing your claim that receiving the Holy Spirit is NOT "special revelation." To be clear, receiving the Holy Spirit - i.e. being born again - is part of the very definition of "Special Revelation." *sigh* This is what I'm doing at 5am instead of praying *face palm*. Holy Spirit help me.

@@nice-new5904 I don't sense any bitterness in the comment. It is a fact that the Holy Spirit is a person not an "it".

Besides the Bible explicitly says that women are not to be pastors or elders so you’re not within God‘s will as prescribed from His Word!

Pfwindha, do you greet other Christians with a "holy kiss" (like Paul asked) when you go to church?
Do you think that long hair on men and short hair on women are a "shame", or is it about cultural norms and the way they perceived it at the time?
There is a specific audience for the letters that Paul wrote, a cultural meaning, not necessarily meant to target us.
People recommended not to get married, yet you seems to have a beautiful family.
Paul probably thought that the second coming of Christ was imminent.
If we had listen to Paul, Christianity would be no more.
The Bible is the inspired word of God, not God' speech. We can see many flawed humans in it, making poor choices, living in a different era with a very a different mindset.
Today in China some women are risking their lives for running some house churches. It's flourishing! Do you want to stop them by quoting the text? It's what the Pharisees did.
The Bible is not a simple list of rules.

I know that my comment won't be well received because people will look at what I have to say as closed-minded, out-dated, and legalistic, but what I hear Sarah saying is that she believes the Holy Spirit has given her an awakening and led her into something that the Spirit-inspired Scriptures forbid:
1 Timothy 2:12 (CSB) - 12 I do not allow a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; instead, she is to remain quiet.
She should test the spirits to see whether the awakening she has had came from God because she is doing something that the Holy Spirit forbade in Scripture.

    • @DavidIstre
      @DavidIstre Před 5 lety

@Kevin Wayne - There is no error in how nearly all translations render 1st Timothy 2:12, which is conceptually reflected in 1st Corinthians 14 as well.
Paul's letter to Timothy is about Church conduct (3:15), not the order of the home, and his instructions in chapter two wouldn't make sense if given within the confines of the marital relationship (i.e. are you really saying Paul meant that women have to dress modestly around their husbands?) These instructions are clearly given in the context of worship (See verse 10).
But the biggest tipoff that there is something amiss is that you are willing to say that virtually all translations are wrong and side with an obscure translation that was produced by one single translator in order to make your point. The translation here is sound.

You perhaps need to research every single woman in the old and new testament who had an encounter with God, alone. Or in the company of a husband. Or in spite of a husband...especially a foolish husband. Or even as widows...Ruth and Naomi. Not to mention Mary, other women called Mary, Dorcas. Those present waiting for the Holy Spirit. There were prophetesses, a judge. Oh, my, the list is long and fascinating. Women in my church prophesy, share words of wisdom, knowledge, cast out demons, heal the sick, counsel, mentor, evangelise, minister, teach. Extend your awareness beyond a select bible verse or two....always. The Holy Spirit calls, equips, enables and gives gifts to whoever He wishes....for the building up of his body, the church, to the glory of God, as a witness to the lost, and to destroy the works of Satan. Yay.

@@nice-new5904 - Using your logic, is it ok for me to divorce my wife, leave her with my children, and go marry a gay man? After all, the Bible is not just a set of rules, right? Let's also get rid of "love one another", because that command was given to Jewish disciples nearly 2,000 years ago, and sometimes that rule gets in the way of my temper. Afterall, we don't kiss each other for our greeting, so, we obviously don't have to obey any of the direct commands, right?
I hope you are capable of seeing the error in your logic here.
The text that I'm citing is part of a letter laying down the proper order for the Church (1st Timothy 3:15). By contrast, the passages directing the early Christians on their holy greeting are part of personal greetings and conclusions (not instructions on the doctrines of the Church). For example:
      Romans 16:3-16 (CSB)
3 Give my greetings to Prisca and Aquila, my coworkers in Christ Jesus...
5 Greet also the church that meets in their home.
      Greet my dear friend Epaenetus...
6 Greet Mary, who has worked very hard for you.
7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews and fellow prisoners...
8 Greet Ampliatus, my dear friend in the Lord.
9 Greet Urbanus, our coworker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys.
10 Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ.
Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus.
11 Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew.
Greet those who belong to the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord.
12 Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who have worked hard in the Lord.
Greet my dear friend Persis, who has worked very hard in the Lord.
13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord; also his mother-and mine.
14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sisters who are with them.
15 Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.
16 Greet one another with a holy kiss.
All the churches of Christ send you greetings.
These personal greetings are not doctrinal imperatives for the household of God, but the doctrines presented in 1st Timothy are:
1 Timothy 3:15 (CSB) - 15 But if I should be delayed, I have written so that you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.

@@manichairdo6346 - Yes, thank you, I have studied these characters. None of them provide any basis to undo Paul's apostolic commandment for the Church.
Interestingly, the apostle Paul addressed people who approached this topic from the "spiritual" aspect and thought that they were prophets:
1 Corinthians 14:33-34 (CSB) - 33 since God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints, 34 the women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but are to submit themselves, as the law also says.
1 Corinthians 14:37-38 (CSB) - 37 If anyone thinks he is a prophet or spiritual, he should recognize that what I write to you is the Lord’s command. 38 If anyone ignores this, he will be ignored.
Assuming that you consider yourself to have expanded your spiritual awareness, it is incumbent upon you to acknowledge that these directives are the Lord's command. If you are disobeying them, you are not disobeying men, but your Lord.
