I SWEAR! Enough with these COVER singers. Her and that other girl which everyone keeps recommending. Yes they have strong voices while they are young...that's about it. They don't come close to the original artists of these songs. They do COVERS for a reason. Under every reaction video i keep seeing these 2 names popping up.
I think this is the wrong question and comparison- Lana is an accomplished artist, the maybe best songwriter of the past decade in my opinion. Her work is untouchable, and of course she brings authenticity in all her songs. Angelina is a young girl, but possibly the best singer of her generation, at least if you look at Jazz/Blues and Pop. Her time to create art has just begun, and she has only written a few songs. Her future is very different from Lana's, and will not compete will the poetry of Lana del Rey, but more with the sound and tone of famous previous Jazz/Blues singers (and I include Amy Winehouse). Obviously Angelina is not singing from dark places, like Lana and Amy. The reason that AJ is mentioned a lot is because she highlights Lana's work as outstanding beautiful pieces of art. However, Lana is the creator of this.
I hope you follow this with Angelina's cover. Every bit the equal of Lana's with only a canned track for backup. I prefer Angelina's but both are remarkably beautiful. AJ always finds feelings that original artists miss somehow. The song has a crazy good melody with powerful words. Great reaction again Jay. I really like Lana, but Angelina Jordan has covered this and Born to Die. Lana is a great writer, but Angelina crushes her vocally. You should check out Lana’s Born to Die too, but also Angelina’s version of these two songs.
